I've had mine for around 25 years. It still gets used, and continues to be one of my favourite tents. February camping in Snowdonia? No problem. I've reproofed it twice over the years, and repaired a couple of minor tears in the groundheet. The zips have never been a problem. The plastic "A" apex joints can crack - but spares are easy enough to get. The build quality is great and the full cotton construction is such a luxury. Why? It doesn't buzz & flap in the wind, doesn't "sweat" (i.e allow excessive condensation to form) and in very hot weather, it tends to be a bit cooler than nasty thin nylon tents. It's very stable in high winds..... there might be a clue there in the name. Yes,the bright orange colour on the flysheet fades with time, but I quite like this - like old Levis.A full cotton tent also has a pleasant smell to it!I own over 20 similar tents, as I organise group camping trips. At least 10 of these are the same Vango brand, but sadly all the rest are lighter, nylon items. Vango Omega 250s and 350s have served me well, although they are not the same heavy construction.I know you pay for quality, but unfortunatley I feel these full cotton Force Tens are just too expensive now, compared to a market flooded with cheaper, more disposable items. They make a fairly large pack size and they are heavy - so far more suited to car camping, rather than cycling, motorcycling or backpacking. Heavy wet cotton also takes a little longer to dry out than nylon tents. This tent will give decades of use if you're prepared to treat yourself. Get one, new or used, if you can.

Where can I start... This tent is THE best I have ever used. You can tell that this tent has been engineered to absolute perfection.Pros:* Very spacious - you could probably fit an extra person in if you wanted to without rucksacks.* Ground sheet - Very very thick and tough.* Waterproofness - I have slept in this tent many times in the rain & snow and have never got wet.* Quick to put up.* Simple design - Not much to go wrong.* Very sturdy in high winds.* This is a beautiful looking tent!Cons:* As this tent is cotton & is orange it tends to get dirty VERY easily, although not harmful it does take away from visual appeal.* Quite heavy - Well it was heavier than I expected,I recommend distributing the parts of the tent to members of your team if you are backpacking.* The pegs that are supplied are terrible, they bend very easily.* This isn't really a con and quite a shallow view but the Vango F10 STD MK4 advertising on both the inner & outer are very small, and when you have spent alot of money on a top of the range tent you really want to boast a bit more. :)Overall this tent has served me and my team well and I thoroughly recommend it to all who have a budget set aside for such a high spec tent as this. However I would not recommend it to festival goers, leisure campers or anyone else who is not planning to be camping in harsh conditions such as wind, sub zero temperatures & rain, simply because it is a too big of an expense. But if you are 'hardcore' with a deep pocket then this is the tent for you.

I'd buy another today if I had the money. My last one survived minus stupid degrees centigrade, being buried in snow, howling gales, hence the name, driving rain and baking hot summers. All in total comfort inside. Split the pack with whoever you're sharing with and the size/weight isn't an issue for motorcycle touring.Pitching is easy, the cotton inner means no condensation in my experience ), it just gets a little damp to the touch. The cotton outer means it actually gets more waterproof as it rains and the cotton swells. So how did I kill it?. After one sodden weekend, I failed to air it when I got home and it rotted. Totally my fault. 18 years of sterling service and I guess I got complacent.Yes,they are overpriced for just the odd fine weekend away, but for a week away in any, or in Scotland all, weathers they cannot be bettered. Warm in winter, cool in summer, easy to cook in with the right precautions no condensation droplets remember and just a damn fine looking tent too! They crop up on ebay second hand, which is where I'll be hunting for this winters rally season tent.Just remember to air it out when you return :-)

I've been using these tents as both a civilian and a soldier for nearly 30 years and they are simply fantastic. They set the standard. It was my tent of choice in taking my 3 year old son for his first camping trip. Quick and easy to erect and simple to take down. The front porch gives you enough room to cook in (I use a 25 series Trangia) and there's more than enough room for all of your kit at the other end of the tent. The only downside I can think off is that the 'Vango' standard tent pegs are not that great, so I would recommend that you ditch the pegs and get stronger ones. But don't be put off with that as you can not buy a better tent than this.

Almost the same as the tents of old, however it just does not feel right. Its good in its thermal quality and in how it goes up (oo-er missus). It just does not hang right........the inner tent is somewhat slack and there is nothing you can do to rectify the problem. I also think it would be tight for three to share.Overall, not bad. Just not the same.

Wanted one of these for years and finally bought one.Really easy and quick to put up and bomb proof. Tested It on a really wet and windy weekend and had a great nights sleep knowing my tent wasn’t going to leak or blow away in the strong winds. Can’t wait to get it out again.

Very good tent, not a lightweight tent, but I was not expecting it to be. Very good condition, no pinholes in the cotton and a superb heavyweight ‘tub’ style ground sheet. As easy to put up as I remember, 10 minutes up and 15 minutes down and packed.

Vango force 10 tents are strong well made tents plus you can buy spares if needed . I have not found anything bad about the tent .
