If, like me, you are constantly on and off planes and trying to utilise the allowance to the absolute maximum without compromising quality and comfort then this definitely a case worth considering.I've tried cases with 4 wheels, they lose too much capacity for the convenience of the extra wheels.I've tried the minimalist lightweight backpacks, but the lack of wheels can become a real drag if you've had a long week away from home.I've tried the combo wheel/backpack cases, but they don't really excel in any particular aspect. This case gets the balance of portability and capacity just right. The fabric sides offering a bit of flexibility to really pack things in combines well with the compression straps to make sure it will pass the airline size test, without the added weight from a hard shell case. The wheels don't take up too much space from the compartment, but offer a very smooth and effortless movement around busy airports. There is only 2 main compartments and no real space to organise small items like cables, chargers etc, but honestly that's fine IMO. You can really squeeze a lot of stuff in there, so you could get separate packing cubes and organisation items if needed, plus most airlines allow you to take an accessory bag (such as laptop bag), which is something I would recommend exploiting. The handle is very good. Feels solid and well made, comparable to most other high end suitcases. If you have an accessory bag with a handle strap, there should be no concern with using it on this case.

I spent a lot of time researching which carry on bag to purchase. While there are more expensive, sturdier and better looking carry ons out there, I decided to go with the Eastpak, mainly for the following reasonsBRAND - I've always considered the Eastpak brand name to be synonymous with affordable quality, and I knew that I would be getting a well made product if I decided to go with them. While user reviews are incredibly useful, I've known the Eastpak brand to be reliable for many years now and knew they wouldn't steer me wrongCOMPRESSION STRAPS - The straps on the sides to help for compression really do make a big difference. Because of the lightweight cloth material used for the outer layer of the bag,you can really squeeze this bag into smaller spaces than expected.AESTHETIC - OK so it's not the most elegant looking carry on (the Away bags for me are much sleeker), it does retain that classic Eastpak feel. For me as long as you opt for one of the more understated colours (Black Denim, Grey etc), rather than the more outlandish options, this bag can look great being used for any kind of trip

A great suitcase. Perfect for going away for three or four days. It's an attractive looking piece of luggage; very functional and good at what it does. I'd read a few gripes about the internal sections but these were a bonus, keeping everything in place; they didn't impact the category. The combination lock is neat, securing the two zip pulls. You can change the combination to something you'll remember. Despite its light weight it was well made, the wheels and handle were all solid. Best of all, a few carrying handles were well placed to make handling the case very easy. I went for the navy so it's easier to spot on the carousel but it is very dark navy.It also qualifies as cabin luggage which is useful if you're maxing out on luggage although I prefer not to engage in the scrum for the overhead lockers. In summary I am very pleased with this case and have no hesitation in recommending it. Would buy again, and again!

I bought this as a travel suitcase for a short weekend away. I already have a set of medium sized and one large sized in the Eastpak range, and I can't fault them. There is ample room in each size, and the straps can be loosened or tightened, depending how full your case is. It has one compartments in the top and one in the bottom of the case, and you can fit lots in the middle too for when you fold the top shut. When using it as a pull along, the wheels are smooth and relatively silent.A recent addition to newer suitcases is the combination lock, which is supposed to be to replace padlocks so that airport security can open if necessary without wrecking the case. I must admit,I haven't quite mastered how to use it yet, but its a good idea.Highly recommended. And if you're not too bothered about colour, you can get a fairly decent priced one here on Amazon.

This is a review for:Eastpak Tranverz S Suitcase, 51 cm, 42 L, Black (Blackout Sailor)These are the best travel cases out there. They are incredibly robust. The wheels are virtually silent when you're rolling. And the build quality is just terrific. You can get so much in these.Because the wheels are built in to the frame, they don't stick out like many other competitors' wheels. Have a look at the photos. This is a bonus.I travel a lot, fly almost weekly. This bag is the best out there. I use it instead of a rucksack, because it's so easy to get around and to put stuff in. It's simplicity is its genius. Clearly designed with the traveller in mind. They now feature the TSA lock, which is super.I've given them as presents and I've had a couple. They last years and years. This one fits wonderfully in as carry-on baggage.

Been very happy with this case so far. I've taken this on several longer (7-14 days) trips as my hand luggage and it's been accepted by every airline and fit a great amount of stuff. There is a TSA-approved lock for the main zip, though given it's a fabric bag that doesn't feel like it's making the bag bombproof or anything. It's fine. The signs of wear are minimal so far. It's very durable for a soft suitcase. The handle is sturdy and the wheels are great, minimum twisting on this bag.Slight downsides: The amount of straps on the outside strikes me as excessive - they don't add much considering the case does not expand. The organisation on the inside is not great - if you want anything like a liquids bag to be accessible without opening the whole case, you'll need to store & carry it somewhere else.

A superb case.It manages the compromise of sturdiness/weight very well. I like the top and side carry handles, the solidity of the pulling handle and the external straps on each side which enable you to compress the case to save space in transportation. I like, too, the way each half can be made a discrete unit with the zipped covers: you don’t have to rummage through the full depth of the case to reach things which makes for less disruption of one’s packing, and yet the case can be opened without things falling out from one or other half. There are sufficient internal and external pockets too for items you need to get at more easily. What I don’t like is ........ nothing!Really pleased with this, especially at the £60 or so I bought it for. Strongly recommended as a perfect plane carry on bag.

My partner has had this suitcase for a number of years and I always borrowed it, in face I actually used it more times than him. It's so sturdy, sleek, made from quality material, shower proof and finally some wheels that don't go wonky over time! With it's two large pockets on either side of the bag with zips, a strap for extra security, not to mention a locking mechanism, this bag is light, handy and well designed. Whether you're packing for a long weekend away or heading out for a weeks holiday, it has ample enough room for one and even has a sleek front pocket for a book, magazine or your travel documents and with a number of colours to choose from, you're spoilt for choice!I'm very happy with my purchase and will certainly be purchasing the larger version for longer travel.

I love this case - it's perfect for a weekend away or as hand luggage for longer holidays and it fits in the overhead racks on the plane (used on EasyJet, not sure about Ryanair now!). It has several separate zip compartments, useful for keeping different things separate. It glides along super smoothly, making it easy to walk around with. I'm really impressed with the build and material quality. I can also vouch for it being rainproof - I walked around with it in the rain for about an hour and everything stayed dry. The straps on the side mean you can compact it down and cram even more into it if you like! It folds down nice and flat for storage, which is handy. Also,it looks great and there are plenty of design options so you can spot it on the carousel!

Delighted with this cabin-sized bag. It is sturdy, stable and wheels nicely along. The extra features of strong fabric handles on the side and the top makes it easy to lift and the simple combination lock . The zipped compartments inside make packing easy, and everything stays put. I put a bulky item (jacket or sweater) between the two halves, plus my bag of liquids from security, closed it, zipped it up, tightened it with the adjustable straps. Perfect. The various colours are hugely different in price, so scroll through for the best value. We had one each for a recent six week trip and found them great - stable, easy to wheel, easy to pack and easy to put up on a rack.AND acceptable as cabin baggage on all the airlines we used, including Easyjet.

This is a review for:Eastpak TRANVERZ S Hand Luggage, 51 cm, 42 liters, Blue (Blakout Urban)This Eastpak case is superb. It is by far the best cabin baggage that I have ever used. The reasons are simple:1. It will always fit in the upper cabin storage;2. You can squeeze loads in';3. The wheels are in-built rather than sticking out4. The two components are self-contained.I take loads of flights every year and need a bag that is sturdy and portable and will go up top. This is by far streets ahead of any other that I have used. And, when being wheeled it's so very quiet, again, the quietest I have ever encountered. It's simply the best made cabin case that I have used.Size S of the Tranverz range is what you want for cabin baggage.

I discovered this brand while I was searching the perfect luggage for my need : something light, durable, good looking, guaranteed, and not to expensive. I bought my 1st Eastpack luggage in Paris a year ago before coming back to Canada – I left my old suitcase there :). Then, I took another trip with my new Eastpack for 3 weeks on the road in Corsica. After this trip, I wanted a smaller cabin version so I ordered this one. Eastpack luggages are so light. In addition, they can be easily compressed if you do not use them to their full capacity. Next time I go to US, il will get my 3rd Eastpack bag but this time,I will choose a great color from so many they offer since I can't have the same choice online for Canada.

This is the best luggage case ever for short-stays and travelling light. It's light, spacious and fits in overhead storage (it even looks small when fully packed so never gets checked on the weight)Personally, I use this for travelling with work so I'm away between 2-4 days at a time. This case easily fits 4-5 days worth of clothing. The maximum load I've been able to carry so far was 4 days clean clothes (both for work + the evenings), shoes, ipad and laptop all in this case alone.Even if you you have to use a cheap airline and only 1 bag is allowed, you can slot your laptop bag in the top very easily. It's also great if you have OCD about packing and/or were a tetris champ :)

This is obviously I high quality product and it is from what I can feel very sturdy. But that also means it is a little bit heavier than my older takeon luggage. Still, depending on the airline, I have to be careful what I pack in it. I am happy with this purchase and the only reason I lowered the rating by one star is for something that I honestly don't think they can do, at this price range, which is to give me that level of toughness, and very light weight. So this is really a 5 star product, as long as you only need light weight stuff inside it

I took this luggage on an overnight trip to Europe as hand carry. The luggage met the restrictions for all 3 airlines during my trip - Flybe, AirFrance and KLM. Fitting it into the overhead compartments was easy because of the slim shape (Flybe had the smallest space among the 3). There is some functionality missing because it has 2 wheels and not 4, but movement was very smooth. I don't actually miss having 4 wheels. Delivery was also really fast (thank you). Great hand carry bag and highly recommended.
