I learnt to snorkel when I was a teenager and to scuba dive in my early twenties and it was one of the best things I ever did. To float (both on the surface and beneath) with schools of fish just swimming all around you with no fear – if you stay still they will even swim through your fingers – such a lovely experience. Looking at the sea creatures, corals, etc, in their own environment is amazing and interacting with them is superb. When I started it was with snorkel, mask and flippers – the basic kit – and every time we went n holiday (in this country or abroad) they went with me.If you are buying a snorkel then you need one with a valve. It is not uncommon for water to splash into the tube and a build-up of fluid will cause problems, eventually blocking the breathing tube, so you need to be able to get rid of the liquid blockage and expulsion valves are an easy way of doing this. If, however, your valve doesn’t work simply force blow the liquid out of the snorkel. You will need a good pair of goggles. There are various methods for keeping your glasses from misting up. These range from a little sea water to spit. There are also a number of specialist diving sprays which are available but most of them are expensive and not much different to the old-fashioned spit on the glass. The flippers are quite nice, but I found the top edge of one was cutting into the top of my foot. After a quick bit of diy and a pair of ankle socks everything was good.Snorkelling is a relaxing way to spend several hours. It is especially good if you are into wildlife. One of my favourite memories when I first snorkelled was lying still on the water watching a school of beautiful, tiny fish heading straight for me and treating me as if I was a new toy. Swimming straight up to me, surrounding me and swimming round my fingertips, coming up to my goggles as if they were taking a look at me. An amazing experience which was only equalled when I was scuba diving and a pod of whales arrived over the old sailing ship we were exploring. Such big gentle creatures and they seemed as curious about us as we were about them.I am hoping that the younger family members will enjoy snorkelling as much as I have and that they will be able to have such memories for themselves. This a an excellent snorkelling set, well worth considering if you are new or experienced.

I have been lucky enought to get to try three different Cressi masks and as I spend a lot of time in and under the water they are right up my street.A Dive Computer would also be nice :)Anyway, out of the three this one fits my face the best and has a snorkel with a purge valve. The carry bag is okay, just, but offers no crush protection and it is tricky to get the contents in or out. When selecting a mask, the key features are...1. Fit - Test. Without the strap around your head, breathe in through your nose and try and pull the mask off your face.2. Nose - If you are going to scuba or duck dive you will have to equalise so you must be able to squeeze your nose with the mask on.3.Nose - Make sure the mask is not applying pressure to the top of your nose otherwise it will start to hurt.Ideally try one on before you buyNow this packageIt consists of their "Cressi Ocean" mask designed for snorkelling, swimming and scuba diving with a clear silicone skirt. The strap is easy to adjust and don't forget a mask does not need to be to tight (if after use you have a ring on your face it is to tight). The field of vision is good and it fits my 59 year old face very well.As with most masks, they tend to steam up and it used to be suggested to clean the inside of a new mask with normal toothpaste before first use.The "Cressi Gamma" snorkel seems pretty well designed and allows easy heavy breathing and is fitted with a "wave guard".The mouthpiece is replaceable but not a standard design (so a replacement may be tricky to obtain). It features a "Purge Valve" so blowing it clear will be fairly easy.Assuming it fits your face properly you should have many enjoyable snorkel dives with this set.

The set I have does not include fins, but the mask and snorkel are very good. The set is ideal if you need a snorkel that has a valve to help with clearing the water and the mask is of good quality, with easily adjustable straps. It feels quite light compared to some other sets that I've had in the past. The snorkel has a soft silicone mouthpiece, with a valve as I mentioned, which makes it easy to clear when you resurface. It also has a moulded splash guard at the top end, which helps prevent water entering the breathing tube until you dive. The mask has soft silicone straps and seal, which makes it very comfortable to wear. It's easy to adjust because the straps have ridges that engage with the clip but slide easily when the clip is opened. The field of view is very good too, I wasn't aware of the frame when I was in the pool, and they don't fog up in warm pool water, though I haven't tried them in the chilly British sea yet and probably won't until next summer when it's a tad warmer. My set came in a lightweight travel pouch with a hook and loop closure. It's a good set which should suit most adults. There are also children's sets too which are also very good.4 stars.

This is a good quality, mid-range snorkel set that, I admit, has yet to be tested in salt water, but bears up well in a chlorinated pool. The set comes in a nice, well made bag that you can continue to use for storage. The snorkel has a comfortable mouthpiece and comes with the all-important hood to prevent water getting in at the top, plus one of those "flush" pieces at the bottom, although I've never quite worked out how to use them/how they work...The mask is sturdy, with easily-adjusted straps. You get a wide field of vision, no or only minimal water seepage (depending on how well the mask has been adjusted to your face at the time) and only minimal fogging up (after applying the usual "toothpaste wash").My one issue is that if you press the mask against your face to ensure it's well sealed against your skin, for whatever reason, the frame hurts where it presses on either side of your nose. I've not had that before with a mask, so it was pretty unexpected and unwelcome. However, as you don't need to press often, this isn't a deal breaker.

A fantastic snorkelling set from Cressi.I am an occasional holiday-snorkeler, and I review this snorkelling set from that perspective. I have done scuba diving in the past, but don't find the time to do more than the occasional snorkeling nowadays. The Mask- The tempered glass lenses provide clear vision, and a good field of view - particularly looking down due to the upside-down teardrop shape.- The silicone provides a snug a comfortable fit to my face, and is relatively easy to adjust. The Snorkel- Comfortable grip in the mouth- Purge valve works brilliantly - making it easy to expel water that splashes into the snorkel. This is a key reason to pay a little more than a basic snorkel with no valve. The bag is nothing to get excited about, but it is much better packaging than the huge plastic boxes some of these sets come in, and the bag is useful for storing the mask and snorkel.I can't fault this - for the current asking price of £30 (at time of review) it represents great value and great quality.

My first snorkelling set and so far only tested within the confines of a swimming pool. The face mask fits comfortably on the face, with the soft silicone surround helping to ensure a watertight fit and remain comfortable. The good design of the mask and the tempered glass lenses gives great clarity and excellent field of view at all times. The mask can easily adjusted for comfort and fit using the head strap, thus ensuring perfect fit and comfort, adjustment takes a little getting used to but with practice it's easy enough. The snorkel and pipe are made from a tough durable plastic, the pipe is flexible around the mouthpiece attachment for practicality. The mouthpiece allows easy and secure hold in the mouth. The top of the snorkel pipe is fitted with a profiled guard to help prevent water and splashes getting in whilst allowing easy breathing. A storage and carry pouch is provided.Overall impressed I look forward to using this whilst on holiday rather than looking rather silly in my local swimming pool.

Cressi are known for their high quality water sport products, so it comes as little surprise that even their budget options are some of the best on the market. I've been super impressed by this mask and snorkel combo - it is incredibly well manufactured and feels as though it will last a long time. The mask is quite a bit larger than what I'm used to, which is in part because of the silicone gasket. Though it feels a little overwhelming at first, the fit is comfortable and it never pinches. The field of vision is also very good and has a nice teardrop design, which allows you to see below more comfortably. I also really like the snorkel and have found the valve to be very reliable. On top of this, the pouch that product arrives in also doubles as a carry case, so can't complain!I actually somewhat regret purchasing cheap snorkels and masks as they've always ended up breaking or being uncomfortable. If you're fortunate enough to go on beach holidays regularly, then this is an ideal companion.

This Cressi Ocean mask are rather “comfy to wear”, the lenses are designed to fit as closely to the eyes, thus ensuring optimum field of vision. The soft silicone skirt hugs the face and with its wide sealing ring, which gives it first-rate “hold” and exceptional fit that feels relaxed. Where the buckles are easy adjusting, and much easier to put on and take off compared to “mainstream” goggles. Once in the pool, the rubber seal is ideal. I swam for about an hour or so in our local swimming pool, although they are meant for outdoor use. The Snorkel has good features: with a profiled guard: it cuts water intake and splashing from the top without obstructive to your breathing. The silicone mouthpiece is comfortable to use and feels durable too. This my second "cressi" product and the build quality is good, I shall using them on my holidays, as my swimming pool testing has shown that these work well for me.

It's difficult to praise Cressi too much without sounding like you're shilling for them, but this is pretty much anyone could possibly want or expect from a snorkel set: The latest technology, loads of thoughful little design touches, excellent styling:Mask: This features tempered glass, a very soft silicone skirt that will cling to most varieties of face, a deep, teardrop shaped design that gives a huge field of vision, and a ratchet-and-buckle strap system that is easy to adjust even when wearing neoprene gloves,Snorkel: This features a splash guard, to prevent water getting into the snorkel, a purge valve at the bottom to get rid of water, and a quick-release clip to attach and detach it from the mask.Add to all that really sporty styling, with a lot of embossed logos and all that palaver, and a well-made carrying bag, and, as I've said, it's very difficult to find fault.

I've never been snorkelling, so i'm only judging this equipment from a point of ignorance, but it does seem very good quality and looks very smart. The very soft clear latex of the mask fitted me well, with loads of adjustment still available, and I have a big head. Whilst the headband fitted my wife, the mask itself was way too big for her face, she is quite petite though. The snorkel was comfortable to use and I could breathe easily through it. It has a little clip that holds it to the side of the face mask. My reason for four stars is the storage bag, it is tear drop shape and the size of the opening at the top is almost too small to get the equipment in and out of, quite ridiculous.I'm looking forward to trying this equipment in the sea on my next holiday. Recommended.

This set contains the mask and snorkel and also a carry case - though to be honest the carry case takes up more space than it saves and I wont be using it. The mask and snorkel themselves are fine. Cressi is a great brand that knows what it is doing. I've also got some of their higher end stuff which is superb. I wouldn't necessarily want to do a deep scuba dive in this, but that's not what it's for - it's for snorkelling and for that it is everything you need. This one happens to be going to my wife. It's goot a comfy fit, great seal and no issues thus far with fogging. If you're going to somewhere like the Red Sea or Maldives then it's deffo worth getting your own stuff rather than risking leaky or poorly fitting dive shop hires.Fair price too.

I have used Cressi snorkelling items many times in my years as a scuba diver. On my most recent trip to the Barrier Reef, my mask finally sprung a leak after years of use, so I was really looking forward to getting this set. It did not disappoint, the mask is really well made, it gives a good field of vision and is very comfortable to wear. The snorkel is very flexible and fits well onto the mask. I particularly like the fact these items come with a zip up bag to keep it all compact and protected. I have not tested it in the open water yet, but I am an experienced enough diver to know that it will work well and keep me comfortable and dry!

This is a great quality snorkel set. At the price I think it also represents excellent value. It consists of a very impressive-looking mask (it has a wide field of vision) with angular lenses rather than a rounded shape and a very nicely moulded nose cover, and a light, sturdy snorkel which is both comfortable and easily adjustable. The snorkel clips against the head strap, so you are always in prime position to dive down. These do not come with flippers in spite of how the image might look. In use, very effective, does not fog so far, and a perfect seal. Really recommended for general snorkel use, especially at this price.

17.10.2016

This snorkel and mask comes in a handy long carry bag. The mask fits me snugly, I am tall and have a very large head. The silicone skirt around the mask fits very snugly and feels comfortable. The unusual tear shaped lens on the mask really helps give good vision whilst keeping the mask relatively small and compact overall. The straps are easy to adjust and the snorkel fits on neatly. It has a comfortable mouthpiece which contains a purge valve if any water does get in through the snorkel splash guard. Very good package for the price, it will be coming on our next snorkelling holiday.

Although from the picture it may look like there are flippers included in this set it only comprises of the snorkel and goggles with the other object being the carry case. It's a good product; the googles have good wide lenses and the seal is water tight and the snorkel fits easily into the mouth and is both firm but malleable if you have to adjust its position or angle. I like it though will need to give it a more rigorous work out in open water conditions as opposed to a swimming pool in order to put it through its paces.
