These pants work. I know they work. But when you have them on sometimes you will think they are leeching all the heat out of your body. But they aren't.The reason I know they work is that I stood outside for about an hour looking at ice castles when it was a bit over 20 degrees. I was wearing these under a pair of jeans, and some everyday shoes that are not made for cold weather. By the end of the hour my face was cold, my feet were frozen, but my legs felt the same as they did when I started out. Considering I hadn't done a remotely decent job of layering, I was impressed. But they are also weird. The second you put them on you'll notice your legs are warmer. But then you'll walk to the next room and suddenly feel like someone stuck bare metal on your skin. It will feel cold and you'll think these pants don't work. But you're wrong. Wear them for a while and you'll stop noticing the metal spots. Layer correctly and you may never have cold legs again.

I originally bought these as part of a costume. Since then they've been shooting, kayaking, and jiu-jitsuing, among other things and held up very well. They're not really made for combat sports but are definitely a good choice for outdoors activities.

I purchased these for my husband who loves the eddie bauer baselayer pants from a few years back. these have a silver lining in them for added warmth, but still not as good as the eddie bauer. would still buy them for myself as I love walking.

This Omni-Heat thing is overrated i believe .. nevertheless it a very comfortable and fairly warm base-layer, i say "fairly" cuz i'm a bit of a cold sensitive person so keeping me warm is a challenge !!Oh and its well priced ..

These are perfect for wearing under pants in the winter for extra warmth or under shorts for jogging in cold weather. I like that the waistband was the least bulky of several base layers I looked at in the store.

Good quality longjohns for a decent price - I purchased these for my son prior to a recent trip out west to ski. Can't go wrong with Columbia - these are great and will be worn for many years to come.

He works in an unheated shop and prefers these over other types of "long johns". He likes them for their lack of bulk (as opposed to cotton) as well as their ability to keep him toasty warm.

Have been wearing these out on board a ship during the winter. They have been great! The little thermal dots keep heat where it matters and the leggings themselves are super thin and light.

Purchased these for cold weather bike riding. Haven;'t had an opportunity to test them in the cold weather yet, however the fit was very good and they seem comfortable to wear.

Wore this on my recent skiing trip at the cold Mont Tremblant of Canada (degrees below 10 degrees F). This baselayer kept my legs works and flexible underneath my snow pants.

Seems to have a heat based reflective interior that isn't even mentioned in the description. It is super light weight and kept my legs warm with only ski pants over them.

I enjoy running in the winter and so does my son. These pants are warm and none constricting. I bought him his own pair because he kept borrowing my pair

Product fits great and is light on the skin, but very warm. Perfect for those really cold days to put under jeans, sweats, or overalls to work outside.

Columbia Sportswear Men's Baselayer Midweight Tight Bottom fit as I expected. I wear 34x34 pants. Best part was half the price as the stores wanted.

...makes a great Base Layer, especially in the unpredictable climates of the Rocky Mountains and high plains. I have never been cold wearing these.
