This tent is very good. After going round the world in a much smaller tent, we splashed out on this one and took it on a camping holiday to France in June 2016 and since for a weekend in North Yorkshire. Unfortunately, it rained a lot whilst we were in France. But this made us appreciate all the more, the 'veranda' bit. We comfortably fit 2 camping chairs, supplies, a camping table and a cooking stove inside this bit of the tent, and spent time reading with food and cups of tea whilst taking shelter from the rain (see 1/2 photos)Other design features we like include:The way the sleeping quarter is separated - though connected - to the outer tent layer. The bucket design of the floor-sheet in the 'veranda'bit. The see-through margins on the outer front-door of the tent. This makes it easy to check the weather status from shelter – especially if it keeps raining intermittently. This has unexpected practical uses when it rains all day and there’s nowhere else to go (other than the toilets)…The little gap between the sleeping quarter and the floor-sheet for the 'veranda' bit (a good place to put muddy shoes - sheltered from the rain but not muddying everything else)The front flap which holds open so you can enjoy a (hopefully) good view whilst sat under shelter (see 2/2 photos)In terms of putting the tent up, that's been fairly easy (depending on the state of the ground beneath as with any tent/camping expeience). It’s pretty much just like putting any other tent up. On the inside, once you have connected the inner sleeping quarters, I'd suggest leaving that attached (yes, the tent will still fold away just as well). The rest is fairly straight forward. Inside the tent itself, there's lots of bits to hang things off and pockets big enough to house things like toiletry bags etc. There's only 2 things that let this tent down. If it weren't for these 2 things, we'd give it 5 stars...1. When it was pissing it down in the Dordogne in June, the side-door zips started leaking water into the 'veranda' bit (despite the bit of waterproof(?) fabric covering the zips). It seems (?) that somehow this led to the bit of fabric above the side-doors then also starting to leak. This bit got very wet, and drops of water started coming through. So we had to put a cooking pot underneath to collect the drops. PLEASE NOTE - This was the only part of the tent that leaked. This issue only happened under heavy rain and has never during or since affected the sleeping quarters or any other part of the tent! As such, it is not indicative of a problem with the whole tent, just the side-door zips, the fabric just above them, and perhaps only with our particular model.2. The tent's fabric seems to hold onto a noticeable amount of water all around the outside. Once in Normandy and again since in North Yorkshire, when it came time to pack up the tent, I had to go round the outside of the tent with a camping towel, wiping water off the tent fabric. I don't know if it's an issue with the coating on the fabric, but even where the fabric is at an angle, enough water to noticeably wet a towel sticks around such that you either have to leave the tent up to dry or dry it yourself. It's not a big deal for us, but if you'd rather not pack your tent with more water than necessary, then this might be worth considering. In Summary...The Good:1. User friendly (easy to put up and down)2. Versatile to suit conditions (you can comfortably enjoy good views from the comfort of the tent whatever the weather)3. Spacious4. Good airflow throughout5. Tent lines are a fluorescent green/yellow colour which makes them hard to miss! The Not So Good:1. The side-door zips leak under heavy rain (at least our model did).2. The tent fabric seems to hold onto more water that seems normal which can make it a mess to pack away.Overall, despite a couple of niggling issues, this is still a good tent at a good price. Spacious for 2 and designed for a pleasant experience. Would we buy it again if we knew the minor issues I've mentioned? Yes, definitely. The good definitely outweighs the not so good.

I travel solo on either my feet or by bicycle and in normal times, I use a Vango 2-person hiking tent for my trips - it's robust, waterproof, very light, packs small and 'quite' spacious for a hiking tent. This year, for various reasons, although using the Vango, rather than touring, I made a base-camp and went on excursions from there. This was great! But it led to me thinking that I was needlessly making my trip harder since weight was no longer an issue and so I looked for a suitably sized 'base camp' for future trips - one where I could stay comfortably upright if the need arose. The Coleman Coastline 3 Plus fitted my requirements exactly:Almost big enough for me to stand-up in both theliving quarters and the vestibule (I'm 5'8");The vestibule is plenty big enough for a chair and table if the weather precludes going outside;Cheap(ish) so if I change my mind about making a base, not too much lost; It's a number one Amazon best seller - and crucially, popular elsewhere too;It can be pitched by one person; andAlthough it's made in China, it comes from a brand that I know.Perhaps dangerously, I left it until I was actually on my trip before pitching for the first time but in the event, I had no worries there. On my own, the outer fly pitched easily enough even in a slight breeze - insert the 3 colour-coded poles, pin out the corners etc. and I soon had a space in which to shelter/put up the inner sleeping area. Attaching the sleeping area was easy using the toggle system. I tend to use a footprint to protect the ground sheet and pitching the outer fly first meant this did not blow around. One thing to watch is that there is very little space between the inner and outer fabrics so the outer needs to be fairly taught to prevent moisture bridging. From opening the bag to sitting in my chair took about 20 minutes - I would expect this to be quicker the next time, especially if the inner tent is left attached to the outer.Once up and guyed, the tent seemed pretty stable. I was lucky and so far have not used the tent in high winds or driving rain, but I have no reason to think that this would be a problem (provided the inner and outers do not touch). There is certainly plenty of space for one and definitely enough for 2 (although I think 3 adults would be pushing things, unless you want to get to know the *really* well)! The design of the tent is good - there are plenty of vents, the inner door can be closed using just the mesh, there are 'windows' in the vestibule (the ground sheet for which is detachable) and as mentioned at the start, I can almost stand upright. I found the tent warm, even on my own in mid September. Build quality seems fine too - seams are taped and the tape is firmly attached, zips run well, guy lines are brightly coloured, the pegs are adequate. The poles are glass-fibre but seem good enough for the use that I intend. The tent comes down easily enough and was fairly quickly put in its bag - thankfully, it was quite dry otherwise this might not have been so simple. The tent is quite hefty - I certainly would not want to use it for trekking (unless shared between 2 or 3 people). All in all, I'm very happy with this tent and so far, I recommend it, especially if on sale and less than £100 (ewhich is in my eyes an absolute bargain)!

I was wary when I went to purchase this tent because I had bought my last one only last year on reading reviews and it did not come up to scratch. I need not have worried at all. This is a marvellous tent and does exactly what it says on the tin. It was pretty easy to put up even for the first time and, as one reviewer put it, no matter how you fold it, it does go back into the bag without too much hassle. It was fully tested on my first camp as we had glorious sunshine for the most part but I did have a couple of days where it poured down with rain. Here I will say that you need to ensure your door zips are really tightly closed ass the water will drip through. I had to open and re-close mine on both sides to stop this, but that is a minor thing. Whilst this tent was not as high as my last one, and I had to bend slightly in order to walk through in it, it did serve me well and the seating area is certainly large enough to accommodate a large table and chairs plus my cooking stuff. The bedroom is a genuine three berth but, as there was only me, I had oceans of room. I took a week's worth of gear plus fishing equipment and food etc. and I still had room enough to move around without hitting anything. It is of a packed size that makes it even good for backpacking. I was amazed at how small it did fold up to. I actually packed the tent without taking the bedroom off or the groundsheet up, but that is your choice. My one disappointment, and it is with Coleman, is that I could not find a footprint to go with this tent. It would be so useful. I had to use all sorts of things in the end as I had forgotten to take the polythene I normally take when going camping. I do wild camping In Scotland, which I believe is not allowed elsewhere, so the terrain is what you find it. I will be contacting Coleman to find out if they are going to make a footprint. This is a nitpick, though. The tent itself kept me snug and dry and the front porch area is a really great idea. As one person said, the poles are not the best, but they did hold together. Also, to my surprise, the tent pegs provided actually did the job. Normally, the first thing I get rid of is the manufacturer's tent pegs as they are useless, but the ones in the pack from Coleman proved more than adequate. I can recommend this tent to anyone, be they individuals or a small family. It s suitable for any type of camping, be it car, bike, bicycle or backpacking, and I am looking forward to using it for many years to come.

I bought this tent over 2 years ago and never got around to writing a review. I am so pleased with this current model, I was looking for a similar 5 man version here on amazon and was reminded to write a review. As stated, owned this tent for two years and its had frequent use for overnighters and up to 10 day trips. My first outing with it was a disaster, horrendous torrential rain starting just after I pitched it from new, continued overnight with no sign of letting up over the weekend. Inside my new tent, dry as a bone, even the pegs that came with the tent (invest in decent pegs eventually) held up to the almost gale force winds. Honestly it was pretty grim,so I gave up and went home for the weekend leaving my tent pitched and gear inside to collect later, fortunately I was only 20 miles from home. Arrived back at site couple of days later expecting the worst. Rain had only stopped the night before, but there was my tent, still perfectly pitched, pegs holding fine and absolutely bone dry inside with no sign of any leakage whatsoever. I was impressed and remain so. Easy to put up and take down, everything is colour coded very clever design for the porch groundsheet, I normally lay a picnic rug over the top of mine for extra comfort. Used it regularly and whilst it has rained hard on occasion it has never leaked from anywhere, seams and zips included and no condensation, not even inside the porch area, but if you don't use the ground sheet provided then you will get the morning dampness rising from the ground. Only did this once and learnt my lesson. Ventilation system excellent. Not been out yet in 2014, waiting for the kids to go back to school after the Easter break first. Plenty of space for me in this tent, only looking at the 5 man so I can take the kids on occasions if they still want to go camping with the old man. Looking forward to, and confidant of more good outings to come with this tent for a couple of years to come. Everything I wanted except a Harry Potter style anti rain spell in the instructions!

I have now used this tent on two camping holidays one for 3 nights and then one for 6 nights and it really is great. It is really spacious inside so even with a double airbed inside there is still room on each side for a small suitcase or rucksack. The front section is brilliant for in the evenings when it gets a bit cooler or dark you can still sit on chairs inside and plenty of space for camping boxes etc. The front door also makes a great little shaded are for when the sun is too hot. The side doors are excellent for airing out the tent and getting in and out in the morning without getting wet with the moisture collected on outside of the tent overnight.During first outing with this tent we had some horrible weather with ongoing very heavy rain, thunder and wind and the tent did really well, it stayed completely dry on the inside sleeping compartment and most of the outside section. There was a small drip from the two tags which are used when you roll up the front door (or for hanging a torch off inside). These seemed to become saturated and did start to drip in the morning, although after a very heavy night's rain and such a small drip I wasn't concerned and this definitely wouldn't put me off the tent. I think it did really well in the weather. The tent is very easy to put up and take down and can be done by one person although easier with 2. The inside compartment can also be left inside when taking it down. My only very small little niggle is the 2 poles you get for putting up the front door to the front of the tent, each pole is made up of 3 parts and they do work well, however, they are really loose and don't have a click function or anything so when just holding them they fall apart. They do work when standing with the tent and you just peg the string down and as I said this is a very small niggle! This is a great tent, a bargain at the price on amazon! Fully recommend!

First of all, I have read in another review that this tent was frustrating to put up......REALLY??!! This tent is incredibly easy to put up and took me about 10 minutes to erect fully. To get the outer shell is about 6 minutes with then just pegging the inner room and further goundsheet in. I have always been a fan of sewn in groundsheets to tents but this has changed my mind. Its so much easier to clean the tent bit by bit as all the tent can be seperated into three.Tent size is decent, I wanted a smaller tent from my 9 man "lads" tent to go walking and camping with but only for 2 people to sleep, cook, dress and admin ourselves in. I took this tent to Download 2012 and had three of us in it.Im 6'4" tall, my brother is 6'7" tall and my mate is 6' tall. With roll mats down we all fit in the sleeping area fairly snuggly. It does fit three people but is also a very very spacious 2 man tent (obvious statement know!) and all your kit will easily fit in the sleeping area too.Very good, very waterproof, very cheap for the price and very roomy. For a three man tent it has more room than the Vango Beta 350 (though im a huge fan of Vango tents) and is better qaulity than your cheap big argos tents. For the tent novice, NEVR BUY A TENT UNDER 2000 HH. If it rains, your gonna get wet!!!Update as of May 2018. This tent is Stu.going strong after 8 festivals and numerous other camping trips. For it's size it's the best tent out there.

Love this tent! Survived a rather wet, muddy (and stumbling drunks) at Glastonbury festival. If that doesn't put a tent to the test I don't know what does! Comfortably sleeps 2 people with 2 large rucksacks, 3 people if rucksacks are stored in the porch and at a stretch 4 people if they are traveling light. This tent comes with the added bonus of a porch which is fantastic. Enough room to fit a few chairs in with plenty of room above your head when you're sitting down. Other benefits include an awning which is great for keeping the rain off or even providing a bit of shade form the sun. And the bathtub ground sheet is super useful for keeping the inside dry by preventing water from running in.All the doors can be zipped open/closed giving you lots of possibilities. We use S locking carabiners at festivals to prevent anyone trying to take shortcuts through the porch! All in all a fantastic tent. I did a lot of research before purchasing this tent and found this to be one of the best on the market at a very competitive price.Perfect for campers and festival goers alike!Microfibre Travel Towel - Large 130cm x 70cm - quick dry in 6 stunning colours - Perfect for yoga, travel, sports, gym, camping, swim, pilates, bikram, beach, bath or at home - the perfect travel towel - Dark GreenNite Ize Micro Lock S-Biner - Black, 1.38 x 0.57 x 0.28 Inch

Great tent. I have used it for 3 years now. Inner room kept out all midges on first trip, though mosquitos will slip in at dusk if it is left open - always using the zip for a minute pays off. First main holiday was a week in the Lake District when many were cancelling. The Eskdale site was flooded when we arrived. Given a dryish spot next to a stone wall and had no leaks. Porch ground sheet kept food dry despite finding a big puddle underneath when we packed up. Opening doors from top not bottom prevented run off into tent during heavy downpours.Took worst of water off tent with microfibre cloths and only slightly damp when we got home. three of us on that trip were comfortable.Another time shared with teenage daughter and two small dogs in Atlantic winds on Irish beach site. Very sturdy. Any condensation disappears if ventilated during breakfast. Inner room is noticabley warmer than outdoors in the morning. Not counting guy ropes, takes up same volume of space as my Clio Mark III car - roomy enough for two chairs and a camping table in the porch and careful cooking (though instructions say no cooking for fire), but don't expect to stand up straight in it. Dogs are able to get under porch but not out of inner room. I use a spiral stake and their leads. I found it simple and quick to erect and take down, but some friends needed help.

Early review - used once and it performed well.Key points (3 man tent):- its easy to set up. 3 flexible colour coded poles which you could manage on your own (don't require super human strength to bend and locate in holes). 3 sections - outer sheet with about 10 pegging points plus guy ropes, inner sleeping sections which hooks (around 10 toggles) to inside of outer sheet and also at base with elesticated hooks and a ground sheet for the porch. No problems with any of this. Erected it comfortably in 10-15 minutes. If you were in a rush you could peg the outer, forget the guys and just insert the sleeping section in about 5-10 mins.- as with most tent sizing deduct 1 from the stated spec and you have yourself a spacious sleeping compartment. This could comfortably fit 3 but 2 feels lik the optimum (assuming you are not backpacking - it is quite bulky and weighty at 7kilos).- weather was good when i used it so porch functioned mainly for storage - generous. Would easily form a workable space if weather poor.- on packing found it near impossible to get everything back into the carry bag and had to leave the groundsheet out - still a squeeze for the other components. All in all a well priced functional tent which was very easy to set up. Will update after further use.

Paid £82.84 8/15. Used it twice now with some wind and rain on both occasions and the tent performed very well. Plenty of space and comfortable inside with well isolated bedroom with good vents - usefully large living area with good door options. Two problems which is a shame as it's a good tent -1) Instructions are useless and verging on non-existant which is silly as it is quite easy to put up ONCE YOU KNOW HOW. - try harder Coleman.2) Bag is too small and tent must be shoe-horned back into it with difficulty. Obviously it is more important to tent manufacturers to quote a smaller pack-away size than it is to provide the buyer with a realistically spacious bag. PS.One of the reviews here makes the exact opposite point to this - spot the plant. Will provide updates as time goes on ....Promised update 14-04-17: I've used it about nine times now in all weathers and I still like it very much and all the pluses above still apply as does the negative of the too small bag - even after much practice it is still a mammoth effort to squeeze it back into its bag.LOL - looks like I may be getting dislikes from people who don't like my price reveal - tough, we're all counting the coins so stop milking it - this is buyer power on the Web.

I bought this to replace a 2-man tent, which proved to be too small heightwise for me. This one was high enough for me to stay on my feet albeit bent at the waist, but better than having to crawl around on all fours like I did with the 2-man. It was easy to erect and I could have had it fully assembled quicker if hadn't been for the midday heat. I was camping alone so I had lots of room to store all my gear in the sleeping compartment and fit my inflatable mattress in. In the 'living' area I was able to put up a camp chair and sit in comfort. The other thing I was pleased with was the three openings, the slanted one doubling as a kind of verandah roof. Thus I was able to get plenty of shade and air circulation to enjoy the sunshine and 30 degree heat without getting burned.I agree with another reviewer that repacking it leaves no room in the bag for the tent poles, but the separate bag for the poles meant I could easily tether that bag to the tent bag.I would recommend this tent to motorcyclists as I was able to secure it on top of my panniers and it didn't stick out at all either side. What I don't know is how waterproof it is because the weekend I used it was in the middle of a heatwave... in England!!

I purchased this tent for long weekends at Star Parties, the tent is reasonablyhigh quality construction and materials make it very usable. With the tent not being to big it makes it cosy and easier to warm up inside. For its size it is quite spacious with a sleeping compartment that has plentyof room for two. The storage area is a reasonable size though with all yourkit stowed away in there, there is just enough room to sit.The issues I have are as follows.. Well not issues more like annoying niggles.it is a pig to put up by yourself and it does not like uneven ground.I erected it on my lawn which has a slight dip to one side. Because of thisIt took me just over a hour to get the tension on the guides just right to enableme to zip up the front awning. It is advisable to use a candle to wax the zips toassist in the closing, especially the curved sections of the side panels. The ground sheet sides of the storage/porch area are a bit sloppy and do not quitefit. there is also a pegging point missing on the ground sheet which doesn't help withthe fitting. My remedy was to use VelcroIt would also have been nice if Coleman had incorporated flaps to cover the windowsto stop straying eyes.

Perfect size, good quality tent. I've only used it once so far but have another two trips planned. Ideal two-man tent (it was just me and the dog this time) and seems to be waterproof. I sprayed some fabsil along the seams anyway. Having three doors at the front is useful but it would have been better if the windows could be covered up. It was fairly quick to pitch and I was careful with the poles as some reviewers' broke. Plenty of guy lines, I swapped the pegs for Blue Diamond Power Pegs as I'm a klutz and always seem to bend the regular shaped ones. I bought this when it was on sale and it was a bargain. Full price there are Outwell tents that cost around the same so perhaps consider them too as they have a good reputation. If you buy this one, I doubt you'll be disappointed unless you are used to the very best. Personally my last tent was a Chinese special from a well known auction site (and it wasn't bad!) so your mileage may vary.In short, it went up quick, stayed put, stayed dry, there's enough space, and it packs away quickly (but won't fit back in the bag it came in - unless you leave it unzipped).

I purchased this product as a last minute emergency this bank holiday weekend, Fortunately, we had sun all weekend and good weather so I cannot comment on how good/secure It feels in wet/windy weather. However, the tent was quick, simple and easy to put up, even for two girls! The pegs, poles and tent feels very good quality and the set up is really good. The sleeping compartment is brilliant with storage pockets and a loop to hang a lantern on. It's quite dark as well which is great as at the moment, it gets light very early! The porch area is great! Just make sure you keep the ground sheet on the inside so no rain or dew comes in.I haven't used the front flap poles yet to put the front door up but will definitely be a useful feature in the summer and group camping. It fits back in the back really easy too. There was no wrestling with it for hours when you're hung-over and tired.. Just fold it into 3's, roll and away you go. It looks great when it is up as well, I got quite a few compliments! Lovely item and well worth the money. Just want to test it in rain and wind now!

Space-wise, it is really a two person tent with a bit of space for gear - not "3+" as they optimistically describe it. Only used for a few nights so far, but it rained quite hard and the tent didn't leak. But the design of the door is such that you get quite a lot of drips coming inside if you open it wet. The fabric is quite lightweight and needs to be handled with some care, but this helps keep the bulk & weight down. The groundsheet for the living space is separate and not sealed to the flysheet, so there is a gap where insects can get in. Also, the flysheet could do with overlapping the groundsheet more to be sure of keeping windblown rain out. Another minor flaw is that the windows have no curtain or cover,so lacks a bit of privacy. The windows are small, anyway, and I wonder why they bothered with them really. If you were going to carry this tent on a hike you could reasonably split it so that one person carries the poles and inner, and the other person carries the flysheet and pegs. (And probably leave the separate living area groundsheet at home).
