Optically it's fine. I was able to split Epsilon Boo (2.9 arc sec), both components of Epsilon Lyr (2.4 and 2.3 arc sec), and see the 9th mag companion of Polaris, all considered quite demanding tests. This was with an 8mm Televue - I haven't even tried the 4mm eyepiece supplied. The 20mm doesn't have any obvious problems. The RA and dec locking screws have to be tightened pretty hard, as does everything else - I use rigger gloves. I've cut down vibration by replacing the slo-mo controls with potentiometer knobs. The finder is loose in its bracket, but that is cured by a strip of tape around the barrel. Alignment on Polaris is straightforward but realistically, can't be better than a couple of degrees (as you are relying on the dec pointer to get the tube pointing the same way as the axis). There is an RA motor drive available. I'm considering this, as well as a better finder and even replacing the tripod legs with home-made wooden ones (for stiffness). I got the scope as a basis for projects, expecting to make these sort of improvements, and on that basis I'm reasonably satisfied. As a a starter scope it's far more sensible in UK conditions than the computerised alt-az i.e. Nexstar. I had one of those once, but I don't think I ever found anything with it, ever!

Disappointed the lenses came broken but easy to set up. Until I get new lenses cannot comment on the capabilities of this telescope but looks good and professional even though it's a beginners scope. Quite heavy and mount is secure.

the telescope is fantastic it makes small things appear largethe only things I will say negative are the smaller optic is not great and the mount is driving me crazy but im sure that its me and my inability to use it properly

A great beginner's telescope. Loses a star because it comes with a very interesting looking book, but it's only on German, and the instructions while on English, are very unclear. Thankfully there are YouTube setup videos!

Great scope for the money.Have been able to see Jupiter's belts and 4 of it's moons clearly and Saturn's rings.Scope is very steady, easy to use and assemble.Fantastic starter telescope.

Came very quickly but was not in a package which I had to try and hide from my son as it’s his birthday present, just a good job I was home as it would have been left on the door step

5 inch mirror is what any beginner can dream off. Feels a bit like cheap but for the price of 175e very happy with quality. I would recommend 8 inch if someone can spend more 250e.
