This is a great filter for getting those smooth silky pictures of water. The 10 stop factor increases the exposure by 1000 times. So if your meter indicates an exposure of 1/30 th second without the filter you should make a 33 second exposure with the filter on the camera. The filter itself feels solid and is clearly [no pun intended] a quality product. This type of filter is sometimes known as a black glass filter and, as the name implies, cannot be seen through. In order to use the filter you need to:- mount the camera on a sturdy tripod;- focus on the subject and take a meter reading without the filter;- switch to manual exposure;- leave the aperture the same as it was when the meter readingwas taken;- put the filter on the lens;- adjust the time of exposure as mentioned above - if your camera does not have a long enough manual setting [my camera's maximum shutter speed is 30 seconds] you'll have to use the bulb function and a watch or other timer;- switch off autofocus .. if you leave autofocus switched on the camera may start hunting when you press the shutter release;- switch off any vibration reduction / image stabilisation system on the lens or camera .. they introduce movement when the camera is mounted on a tripod;- activate the shutter release using a cable release or the camera's self- timer mode to prevent moving the camera.Once I've taken the picture I've found it best to check the image on the back of the camera as I've sometimes found it necessary to try other exposure times. When trying other exposures it's worth bearing in mind that if the indicated exposure time is, say, 30 seconds and the image is too dark an increase in exposure time to 45 seconds is only a half stop increase. To see some examples of the type of effects that can be achieved try an internet search for long exposure or black glass photography.I really like the effects that you can achieve and this filter is well recommended.

Mechanically, this filter is very nice. It screws onto your lens easily and you can screw further filters onto this one, effectively stacking them. You can also clip a lens cap onto the filter in exactly the same way you would clip it onto the lens, meaning you can safely leave the filter on when the camera's in your pack, without having to worry about it getting scratched. So far I've used the filter predominantly to take shots of breaking waves and waterfalls, but the range of length of exposure it allows means there are many things you could try with it. For example, taking long exposures of city centre scenes where passing pedestrians are effectively eliminated or at least turned into transient whisps. The filter comes in a square case that's around the size of a 3.5 inch floppy disk, whereas some of my others are in smaller, round cases. It's not a major gripe, but it does make it take up more room than needed in a full camera pack. That this is the only negative aspect I can think of should serve to illustrate how pleased I am with this product.

I bought this filter after being impressed by some of the daytime long exposure photography I'd seen on flickr etc. It opens up lots of possibilities for creating interesting images from subjects that would otherwise be a bit boring: traffic, people, water, basically anything that moves!I've only had chance to use it a few times so far and the conditions haven't been right to fully exploit it, but from the pictures I've taken I'm really pleased with the contrast and warmth that this B+W seems to give. So far, autofocus seems to be working fine through the filter, even though it's almost black. For thirty-odd quid you can't go wrong!

When I was looking at ND filters, I decided I should just go for the most highly rated(but pricey too) one instead of getting many cheaper ones and I was not wrong. The price paid was worth it and the quality showed in the photos; 10 stops are really as described -- some cheaper ones that I've used let more light through making this great for landscape shoots or just simply landmarks when you want no people in the photo.Best of all, you can do this when the sun is high (just don't point it at the sun!)

I have used this filter for a while and I have taken some very nice photos [...].The filter is well constructed. When you get it you will understand that is a quality filter.Above all though it does not cause any sort of blur to the image. You get very sharp images comparing to some other cheap filters. The only thing you must have in mind is that this filter gives more warm colours so you must find the suitable white balance temperature by using KELVIN mode.5 Star rate for B + W filters!!!

This is a must of long exposures, i bought a non B+W ND filter in trying to save a few dollars, big mistake. The quality between this and the other filter is amazing. Why this verse a variable ND, i figure that you know how may f-stops you have here but in a variable, it's more of a guessing game, especially at super high ND filters. I am very pleased with this copy and now try to do loads of long exposure photos. well worth the extra money and lessons learned.

The build quality of this filter is absolutely amazing. I read many reviews of various filters and was concerned about the possibility of "misthreading"... this is would be highly improbable with this filter in my humble opinion. It fits perfectly onto my lens and the creative avenues that can be explored are simply endless.A recommended purchase indeed.

Great filter for the price. There is a very slight colour change which is easily compensated for when editing the picture. Enables very nice pictures of flowing water and clouds. If you are looking at dirt cheap ones don't waste your money unless you like purple pictures. If you can't afford a big stopper (and who can?) this is as good as you'll find.

Great filter. Metal casing, very solid, thick but perfectly formed glass. Ive managed only a couple of shots with this so far due to the rubbish weather in the UK, but the images I have got, certainly impress. Am very happy with the product.

It's amazing being able to get 15, 20, 30 second exposures in the day time, I love it! Rivers and clouds take on a new form, lakes and sea turn to a light, smooth fluff. Great fun.

Excellent built quality, you can tell it as soon as you hold it in comparison to cheap filters. The +10 stop works a treat a daytime harsh lighting conditions. Well recommended.

Worth every penny, perfect no colour cast had a fantastic set of pictures on its first outing , don't waste money on cheap filters I have and they are now in the bin .

I'm very happy with this, the only negitive thing I can say was the delivery took a long timeB+W 77mm 110 Single Coated +10 Stop Neutral Density Filter - F-PRO Mount

The addition of this filter greatly improves the quality of the pictures we now deliver. Works well with any of the other filters we have.

After one use seems great, no obvious colour casts or vignetting. More use will provide a better review but so far seems brilliant.
