So, I had a Samsonite bag that was very similar to this. It lasted 3 long trips and was thrown in out of airplanes and coaches, got towed around countless vast airports, wheeled to and from a bunch a hotels and generally got a bit of a beating. Eventually the wheels caved in.This shouldn't have been too surprising because, despite how great the contruction and materials were, the design was (and is with most of these style bags) not the best. The 2 wheels on the bottom were housed in their own plastic wheel-housings, but the material all around them was not rigid. So the wheels were rarely both flat, and often wonky and they had pressure and force put on them that they were just not designed for.With this bag there's a really big difference.As is normal you can see those two rail/ribs running along the bottom outside of the bag - but here (they are usually completely on their own and separate) these rails run the length of the bag and then right into the (chunky) wheel housing. This means the bottom of the bag remains rigid and also that the wheels don't go twisting off in weird directions and end up getting broken. It's good design.The wheel-wells here are just far more substantial and solid than in any other bag of this type I've looked at.There's 3 other things I particularly like about this bag. The colour means I don't even have to go hunting for it when masses of people are crowded round a luggage carousel. The other? You open it up and it's very well compartmentalised, just like a decent suitcase. Most of these wheeled holdhall/case hybrids are largely one big storage space with a couple of pockets - but this thing is really well spaced out and easy to organise.I like it.Lastly, as much as those solid-shell cases seem awesome for protecting your stuff from explosions/massive vehicle crashes or whatever... most of the time luggage is going to sat around in your house taking up space. And if I can have something that does it's job really well, but also can be packed away relatively small, I'm going to take that every time.So, I already liked this kind of travel kit and went looking for a better version of it. And I think I found it.

Update April 2015: After half a dozen flights (including one loss of bags and therefore extra handling by the airline) plus several small boat trips with some rough treaatment, the bag and its internal mesh dividers have survived intact and virtually unmarked. On this basis I am more than happy to give it 5 stars!March 2014: I would give this bag 5 stars - except that I have not had an opportunity to test it as yet against the airport 'chuckers'.The 85 ltr is an ideal size - easily taking two weeks worth of kit, well made - the handles and straps are strong and very firmly attached, and the wheels are robust but move freely. The carrying handles are comfortable in use.The weight is consistent with the robust construction - I estimate about 7 - 8 lbs. I have owned lighter bags but not as strong.My one area of concern would be how resistant to damage the internal mesh dividers would be if the bag were to have heavy items in it and then it was subjected to very rough treatment eg thrown into an airport baggage trolley and then squashed under several other heavy bags. I think the risk could be minimised by leaving the dividers in place but 'unzipped' - allowing for more twisting of the bag before the lining is put under stress. Time and experience will tell.Delivery charges (from Germany) are high but the overall cost still represents acceptable value in my opinion. The bag is rather 'bright' (I bought the blue version) but at least you cannot miss it on the carousel.

A good looking bag with lots of storage. The compartments are a good size with strong zips. Wheels are good and solid as are the straps and clips. Fabric and build seems to be substantial.Small complaint that the finish was not good with lots of loose threads. Also to open the top compartment you have to unthread the top straps - not too much of a problem unless you are on a tour with lots of packing and unpacking.Also can anyone tell me what the buckle and clip are for on the top of the bag??

I love this bag! Firstly it looks really cool and easy to see on the baggage belt. It looks smaller that it actually is but I went away for 8 days and had room to spare. The separate compartments are a great idea, easy to store different items and you can separate worn and dirty clothes. Feels really good quality too. It does stand up, when full...otherwise I can see it falling over when on its end. My only concern would be how much weight the handles can take, but no problems so far.

This must be the best travel bag we have ever bought. Robust, 3 compartments easy packing and easy to find things when moving from hotel to hotel. Will buy another one. Arrived very quickly and just in time for our holiday.

Bought for my kids to travel over Christmas. These look cool (important for the kids) are very sturdy, travelled well, and had enough space for the kids' clothes and all the shopping I acquired while we were away.

Brilliant I already have the big one and the baby one and this completes my set. Very good quality product . The solid base is ideal for keeping toiletries safe whilst both sides allow easy acces to everything.

Absolutely love this bag, it's by far the best roll along bag I have purchased in my 30 odd years of travelling. Love the separate compartments with zips. Have bought another since and the Mrs loves it too
