I have only used one other ice axe and it was a rental from REI. Big, heavy, and bulky. This is thin, strong, and lite. I was very comfortable with it at my side when I climbed mt. Whitney. I look forward to using this ice axe for years and years to come.

The headline says it. So beautiful I almost hate to use it. By all means read the instruction sheet. If nothing else, be sobered by B-D's appreciation of the limits of even their superlative product. Used properly, this axe can last a lifetime.

The Black Diamond Raven Pro Ice Axe is astonishingly light and strong. I took it on Mount Rainier and I can't imagine choosing a different brand or model. The climb is not very technical so I can't rate it on that dimension.

This was exactly as stated, an ice axe. I knew exactly what I way buying and that's what it was. This is a great ice axe for anybody and is certainly quite a bit lighter than the baseline version.

It is very light and resistant, the mud and snow do not adhere easily and is quick to clean, it resists well to scratches. It is strange the lack of dragonera.

It is beautiful, lightweight and the most convenient for trekking! Thought out a hole along the axis of the ice ax for a carbine of any size. I recommend!

Excellent, light and very sharp. Good for crossing and classic aplinism. Tested in the Balkans of Mexico. I recommend buying the protective Ax
