First off, as a 6'4" 46 yr old I realised that I needed something with a bit more cushion for playing on hard court indoor football. Having previously played on grass and astro pretty much all my adult life I know that the footwear you choose has a massive impact on the feel of the ball and also your stability on the surface. I've been playing indoor five a side with the usual fairly inexpensive indoor football trainers that you can find in the sporsts shops. My old ones had the flat grippy sole so were fine for the purpose but my feet used to ache afterwards, almost like they'd been slapped due to the flat sole on the hardwood floor.After a quick consultation with my football-obsessed son,I found these Adidas Ace Tango 17.1 trainers on Amazon at a very good price and having big feet I was happy to see they had my usual size too. For anyone unfamiliar with the Adidas naming/ numbering system the 17 is for the year, and the .1 indicates that these are the top of the range, with the .2 being slightly less so and the .3 & .4 being made cheaper and less well built. The caveat is of course that there are also the 'Pro' range which are crazy money.So, back to these shoes. They arrived in 3 days from (I think) Germany which is very good and on first inspection I was very happy. The shoes are very well made, sturdy and have a certain 'solid' feel unlike any other indoor football trainers I've owned but they are also incredibly light. So much so in fact that I thought they might be uncomfortable and due to the 'sockless' style they were quite tough to get on the first couple of times. Once on though, they are very comfortable although I definitely would have tried a half-size bigger given the option.I played an hour in them last night and had them on for about two hours total (driving to and from the pitch) and despite my initial concerns about the sizing, I didn't even notice them which is an excellent sign. The cushioning is just right, and firm enough that you don't notice the hard surface of the floor, the woven material means that you can feel the ball at your feet which is almost impossible with the more traditional types of football trainers.Finally, these look so good that my son is jealous. Sadly we have the same size feet so i think he'll be 'borrowing' them too.

Overall a great multipurpose shoe, great for squatting and any type of weight lifting because of it's relatively flat sole. Also suitable for any type of indoor sports. The size is accurate but the shoe is slightly hard to put on because of the high ankle cover.
