Super sharp to the corners, even wide open. Micro contrast is exceptional. Fly by wire focus ring has a lovely smooth feel, though a little imprecise-feeling when slow focussing manually, but focus-peaking and zoom on the Sony A7R2 makes this a non-issue. Autofocus is plenty fast. Closest focus distance is pretty poor compared to some, but hey, it's an 85mm lens and I absolutely love it - so I forgive this minor inadequacy. Ideal for portraits and (if you like short telephoto) a good walkabout lens for street and general use too. Sounds expensive, but once you own and use it, you'll be amazed at what great value it really is after all. Wholeheartedly recommended. Stop reading reviews and buy the flippin'
