For those of you that are overwhelmed by the wide variety of optics available for purchase, I know what you mean . In as few of words as I can I will explain my findings. Although I almost purchased a Bushnell spotting scope at first, I changed my mind for the reasons of size and overall reviews. I never tried it , but I'm sure I would have liked it as well. I did however purchase this spotting scope, the Vortex Optics Viper HD 20-60x80 and also the Celestron 52252 100mm Ultima . I searched and searched for a spotting scope with perfect reviews. Good luck at finding one even at a very high dollar price tag. Yes there is about a $500 dollar difference between these two scopes I purchased .

Nice bright scope for when out at the range. I am easily able to see bullet holes out to 200 yards with little effort or adjustment. The glass is clear, bright and the whole thing feels and is rugged too. While not the highest end scope, it is great as a mid level scope for me to step up to. It is hard to beat Vortex's warranty too. That lifetime no questions asked warranty was one of the deciding factors for me.UPDATE: Originally I was panning the neoprene sleeve that comes with it and took a star off for it, but over the past few months I have learned to live with it and decided that the scope is so good that it overcomes this accessory.

Great scope for the money hands down. The 4 star rating is because of the cheesy fited case. It's basically a swimsuit cover that is very hard to put on the scope. The last thing I want to do is twist and pull hard all over a brand new scope. I get it that on more upper end scopes (like this one) they leave it up to you to find a case so leave the swimsuit at home! This isn't a case just a cover. Of course Vortex sells a carry case for another 30 bucks. Ordered it and looks decent. Purchased the angle version scope and would highly recommend a mini red dot sight to speed up target aquisition. Straight model I wouldn't worry about it. Don't need a great one for just finding targets and Vector Optics sells on from Amazon for about 50 bucks.

This is the third spotting scope I've owned and used as a birder. I highly recommend this scope. Coarse focus is comfortably stiff, fine focus smooth and precise. Visually the glass is bright sharp and distortion free edge to edge. Zero chromatic aberrations. Absolutely stunning low light resolution. This scope works fantastic in all conditions, but really and truly excels when conditions are dicey. Top that off with Vortex VIP lifetime warranty and I just toss it in the back of my jeep bury it in crap and bounce off down the road. Haven't had any problems at all and I do not protect the scope as i should. Solid product.

Was second guessing my purchase before it arrived, thinking I should have paid the extra cost for the Razor. I was not disappointed. Very high quality product. Negligible difference between the Viper and the Razor. See bullet holes at 100 and 300 yards. Use it with reactive targets at 600 and 800 yards. Use it at 1,000 yards to see bullet strikes on steel plates. Purchased the tri-pod and zip-on sleeve separately.

We purchased this scope after visiting Yellowstone National Park and being able to use ones to view wolves, bear and elk in the Lamar Valley. The adjustments are easy, the quality of the lenses are excellent, and the clarity equal that of some of the other scopes we used that were 3x the price. It comes with a carrier which is very helpful to protect the scope.

This spotting scope was purchased for target work and works very well within the 100 yard distance generally used. The magnification is misleading depending upon the model used. However, I felt satisfied that this product provided the performance needed, at a price that was well within a price range that was competitive with other brands. A good value.

This is really an high-end scope at an mid-level price. It is rugged and solid while it's clarity and features are fantastic, but not phenomenal. But you get all this in a "mid-sized sedan" price point. Easily discerned overlapping bullet holes even at 200 yards in overcast skies. That's pretty dope when you are trying to get your rifle's dope!

This is an excellent scope, and is backed by a lifetime warranty. The picture is crisp and crystal clear, and is rugged enough that I don't have to worry about the wind accidentally knocking my tripod over and smashing up my scope. This also works well to look at the moon and stars! A must-have for the avid birder.

Best Christmas present I have ever given my husband!! He has been checking out the mountain almost every day!! He is super impressed with the quality! And the visuals he gets of the deer, elk even the bunnies!

Nice. Clarity is not German optics, but everything is well constructed. And you can't beat the unconditional Vortex warranty. I think you would pay a lot more for the same scope not constructed in the PRC.

Awesome, used to glass.for Elk second season 2016, i now have the PhoneScope. I should have bought this sooner.
