The Thomson X4 stem is awesome. Its one of the most chiseled and purposefully built components in my opinion. It is one of my first 21st century bike products. I got it for my DF3 and it fits the whole look of the bike nicely. Its nice and beefy and cleanly machined unlike most of the other stems that look all soft and doe like. All the bolts screw in smoothly and it holds my 3T Scatto bars tight with no carbon sandy grease during my standing start efforts. I got it for my new Dolan DF3 frame so I had to try different stem angles and lengths until I got the right fit. I went through 3 stems before finding the right size and they were all Thomson X4s because I was so impressed by their build

While most of these Thomson X4 stems are used on MTB applications, they also work EXCELLENTLY on track sprint (velodrome) bikes. I have and X4 110mm on my Felt TK2. Super rigid - which is exactly what you want and need for the big gear standing starts. And, the top notch fit and finish are just the icing on the cake. As other reviewers have mentioned, this is the gold standard of stems and worth 5+ stars.

I replaced my 4 year old Thomson Elite 25.4 Stem with the X4 31.8 Stem. This is one of the strongest stems on the market. Once you set it to the proper torque it's unlikely to need future adjustment. It is very important to follow Thomson's recommended torque settings for the bolts. Over tightening can result in stress fractures which can eventually turn into cracks making the stem unusable.

If you want strength, stiffness and reliability...Buy a Thomson bicycle stem!...I have been mountainbiking for 15 years and I have found the Thomson aluminum stem to be an excellent stem when "weighing" strength vs. weight vs. durability...All my race bikes use Thomson stems - light enough and very confidence-inspiring with the 4-bolt front plate...'nuff said...Ride On!

This is my second Thomson x4 Bicycle Stem, both from Amazon. This product is well made and aesthetically beautiful! I have invested in so many stems from other companies but the Thomson stem is the best I have ever owned. I am now decided to get the Thomson Masterpiece seatposts for my precious bikes.

This is my second Thompson stem. They are great, look great, and work flawlessly. Super stiff. Made in the U.S.A is a real bonus. You will be happy with this product, while your at it buy a Thompson seat post. I would post more, but I'm sure you have already read plenty of rave reviews by this point.

Looks amazing out of the bag and even better on the bike. Real quality stem that's light too, plus you even get the option to email Thomson if you would of preferred black bolts instead of the silver supplied and they will send them free of charge.

I'm a bigger biker. 6'6" so I have to get the stronger parts. I ended up cracking my last stem (took 5 years). Didn't fail or notice until I was washing my bike one day. I only ride Thomson on mtn bikes....

After receiving it and examining it, I couldn't help but noticed the build quality. You can really tell this made by people who care about their product. I just wish they made one with 6 degrees..

The Thomson stem is very nicely made, finish great, and works well. No issues at all and it mounted right up with no problem. This is my first Thomson product and I'd buy another.

In comparison to other stems this is by far my favorite because of the strength in the aluminum and its super firm. Exactly what it's supposed to be....

Awesome stem! It's stiff, light, machined well. I now have Thomson stems in variety of lengths. No issues or failures. Would recommend to everyone!

MADE IN AMERICA to start. That's huge to me.I really like their products. I plan on retrofitting my other bikes with Thomson seatposts and stems.

It's not the lightest stem you can by. But it is one of the best made. Nothing but a solid feel and fit. A few extra grams is worth the quality.

Very light, bolts tight the stem to the fork tube very easily. It looks clear to the bike and the length is perfect for my riding style
