We bought this tent last summer to replace our damaged family tent never having heard of Skandika before. It is not of Vango or similar quality but then neither is the price. The spec for the price looked great, especially the claimed waterproof quality, although we were worried about the lack of reviews on the tent. We used the tent in two regions of France last summer in horrendous storms and driving rain and the only rain that entered the tent was through the zips/zip flaps which we had not fastened up properly. The stitching was untidy in areas and the bags looked a bit cheap but having used it many times now as a family in all weathers we have not been disappointed. It is very easy to erect and take down but needs two people and once mastered you can erect it in about 20 minutes and take it down quicker. It has four large doors/plastic windows/mosquito nets the latter of which are handy in hot weather. The bedrooms have handy window area to let light in/look out of and the living area is very accomodating. The only downside is the design of the valances/mud walls on the doors which aren't wide enough and difficult to peg down from the inside. It is also a shame that the living area doesn't have a sewn in groundsheet (although I am working on a velcro attached full groundsheet modification !) We are taking it back on the continent this summer and would recommend it to anyone. Just make sure you have time to erect it fully before you use it in anger so if there is a problem with manufacture you can demand another one.UPDATE JAN 2012 - We have used this tent many times now including stays at Duinrell (Holland) July 2011 and Northern France (Aug 2011), during really heavy storms without any water ingress. It still suffers from some condensation in the main living area, overnight when it take time to warm up in the morning, but is easily dealt with and not a problem. We are really pleased with the tent.

We ordered the version with the sewn in ground sheet and used it for the first time this weekend during the awful weather. The tent itself is easy enough to put up, really spacious, and theres more than enough room for me, my family and all our things. The tent held up really well during the torrential rain and thunderstorms we've just experienced. It rained constant all night but there were no leaks and no damage was caused in the winds. Not having a storm strap I admit I was worried, but everything turned out fine. The only downside we experienced was that when opening the door any rain water flows off the roof and into the tent, which with 2 kids running in and out means you're constantly cleaning up,hence the 4 star review. This may just a problem for the sewn in groundsheet model though, and we are going to fix this by adding a side porch to the tent.Had we been camping in nice weather im sure this review would have been 5 stars and overall we're very happy with the tent and intend to go camping again at the end of the month, hopefully in better weather!

This tent is huge!We wanted a family tent for the 4 of us to have room to move around without feeling cramped and stay in in case of poor weather, well, this fits the bill perfectly! Tons of space, enough for a family of 4 with all clothing, food, table and chairs set up in living area. 3 large bedrooms with room for beds and walking space. Nice high ceiling, so no ducking required. All the packaging, polls, seams, zippers and windows are of good quality. There is a nice set of bags and a carry bag to keep everything organized and together. The only negative was the set up instructions, they suck! We had to look at the finished picture and guess our way through the entire set up,but with saying that it still only took us about 25 minutes from opening all the packages to finished. Now that we know how it all goes together, should take less then 10 minutes to finish. We are very happy with it all.

Good tent for the money. Quality of the material isn't the best and if you want something that will last years then spend more money on a better quality tent. I brought this tent because I haven't been camping in years and for the money it was a good priced starter tent. Used it twice so far and both times it did us well. With stood moderate wind and rain without leaking or breaking which was good. I would recommend having a practice setup in your garden, it will need 2 or 3 people to help especially if it is windy. Definitely not a 1 man operation putting this tent up. Sleeping compartments are a good size but again the material is thin and won't last years. This is a good family starter tent that may give you a couple of years camping. If you want something that will last longer then I would spend more money on better quality.

This tent is idea as it is easy for 2 people to erect. There is standing room throughout the whole length of the tent.(no stooping down to get into bedroom areas) Great if its wet and you need to stay in. The central area is big enought for a 4 person fold out table and a cooker stand. The windows and bedroom compartments also have insect screens and allow full ventilation. There is a double inner at one end with hookup divider if required and 2 single inners for the other end. The central ground sheet is lipped and although a bit fiddly the get to stay up, it is a god-send to stop rain running in!. Best tent we have had. Weights about 25kg but good sturdy bag and poles good quality.Well worth the £200 mark and with accomodation cost as high as they are it pays for itself after 1st week

I didn't buy this tent here but on eBay , same tent just a bit cheaper£260.Put it up for the first time today ....so we don't look like tenting noobs in front of the campsite snobs when we do it for real .Instructions are rubbish , you may as well bin them .Peg out one end , put in first rib attach guide rope to support and one at a time insert other ribs .Tent isn't as big as I imagined it would be , but plenty big enough for 2 adults , two kids and storage.Bag weighs a ton and obviously I did my back in lifting it ......also when you put it back in , it's massively bigger than before .Everything was in the bag including repair kit , extra pegs etcI'll update after our first trip away ,but for now ....I'm a happy camperTBC

This tent is absolutely amazing I cant rate it highly enough really well thought out even when the bedrooms is in there is still loads of space , it's of superior quality and for that price it's an absolute bargain as for the company there was a little damage through no fault of theres the delivery company was a little heavy handed with the box on reporting this to company it was sorted straight away so there after sales is just as good as there sales look so forward to more purchases from the company in the very near future, I dont often write reviews but am so impressed with the quality, the value and the company so please if your looking for a tent look no further and you have a great companyto back it up .

Very sturdy and easy to erect tent with just 2 people. Easy to tension. First night we had huge amount of rain and it didn't leak, just a touch of condensation. Nice size. The only issues are some irritating niggles. When sown, panels haven't been lined up quite straight, so colours are a bit wonky. Ours was the non sown in version, warm enough, but the skirt on the flysheet is attached to the insect netting and not the main door, so both must be down in bad weather to prevent water coming under the door. The insect netting and main door are not on one zip system, but have two individual zips, which make them a bit more awkward in the dark.

Only on night one of our holiday in the south of France but so far tent was easy to put up.... Although it's very unclear from the "instructions" (they are totally rubbish instructions) where the guy ropes should go and by my calculations there aren't enough... However we have 3 kids in 3 blow up singles in the biggest pod... We have a double in one of the other pods for us and the remaining pod i am using as a "wardrobe/changing room"... Luggage storage really and somewhere to change in private... Although it really wasn't hard to put the tent up we did need the kids just to hold the poles up etc... Nothing too complicated

Great tent with lots of room for the family. Some nice touches throughout. Not too difficult to put up once you get the hang of it, I have had someone else ot help me each time I have set up but I think I could do it on my own with a bit more running around. I have not used this in the rain yet so can't comment on that. If you need a tent for lots of people this is a good one. Each of the smaller sleeping units can take a double mattress and the larger sleeping unit can take two. I am 6ft tall and apart from walking in and out of the tent can stand up throughout it.

We've recently been camping (2 adults, 4 kids) and this has the perfect space for us. It has not leaked, even in heavy downpours and has stood standing in heavy winds and rain by a beach. It's easy to put up when you know how. The instructions aren't the easiest to follow though. I can recommend this tent. One of our tent poles were broken when it arrived and I wouldn't have had time to return it in time for our camping trip, but we've managed each time to tape it up and it works fine.

Very good tent, good quality, not hard to assemble although the schematics are not very good and detailed. I assembled it on my own, first time I had such a big tent and took me a good couple of hours. If you have any help would be much easyer. Other than that the tent is really spacious, I used it for my family of 4, could fit even the pram inside the tent. In hot days is good that the middle sides can be opened for air and also in rainy days it is good water proof.

Fantastic tent - loved it !easy to put up .I don't really like tents without a sewn in ground sheet - but this was ok .Didn't move around it was pegged in and had sides so that water wouldn't get in if it rained. The bedrooms has sewn in groundsheetsbig tent - only out up the double room and rolled up the partition .. and then pit up one of the single rooms... tons of room.great to have 2 back doors as well as 2 front doors.Cant wait to use it again

This tent is larger than expected and so easy to erect. Super quality.c What a great buy. took four of my grandchildren and we all put it up in an hour. We had rain and the tent remained dry. so much room inside should you need to stay indoors.. We had a great time knowing that the tent would keep us dry and with loads of head room. Really big and spacious. when its time to upgrade im going to buy the ten man one. Would recommend this to anyone.

Brilliant and spacious tent and great service from their partner "MAX Trader UK".We put up the tent during a storm (had no choice as it was getting close to dark)As a result 1 of the plastic fittings broke when it came under the stress of us trying to put it up in the storm. We contacted "MAX Trader UK" and they sent out replacement fittings for free and most importantly no fuss!Much appreciated.
