Excellent for the price, looks and feels high quality. The only difference between UN26 and UN55 is the material of the housing and the nut - steel+plastic in the former vs aluminium in the latter, which results in 50g weight difference. Two high tensile bolts for cranks are supplied.The job is easy, but you need three special tools: (1) a puller for removing the cranks, (2) a thin-walled 14mm socket for the crank bolt, and (3) a socket for the bottom bracket.

The steel casing looks incredibly strong and the spindle turns smoothly with not a trace of play.Maybe it is a little heavier than the UN55 and the end-cap is plastic, but that doesn't mean it's inferior to a UN55 and the aluminium end cap from the latter (if you have one) can be used with this BB.A wise choice for anyone wanting a good quality BB

I have informed myself extensively so that I can also buy the right bottom bracket for my bike. Everything should fit, but the plastic sleeve was somehow too long for my bottom bracket mount. The bike dealer around the corner had to help me out with the right sleeve for my bike. Therefore 4 stars, but could also be due to my old bike :)

Basic, square taper bottom bracket. This BB has a plastic cap at the non drive end and does the job just fine. The one I replaced was a UN26 and that lasted for 15years or so. Was thinking of upgrading to UN55 but decided to stick with UN26. Recommend.

It was as easy as fit and use.Something surprising is that the nut is made out of plastic. However, I have not had any issues at all. The Bottom bracket has been used for commuting for a few moths now without any issues.Highly recommended.

I was surprised that both sides of the cartridge are made of aluminium as I was expecting one side to be plastic. For those out there attempting to change out your cartridges, use the correct tool and take your time! Clean the threads well.

As expected.These sealed units are much more reliable than the ball and cup type bearing/cranks, but are not repairable when the bearings wear out. I needed this size so I could fit a road-bike crankset onto my mountain bike.
