So... a bulky case for a massive phone... that cost over £30... and has fancy LEDs...I'll give it to Samsung, they sure know how to make a product that appeals to impulsive idiots like me. Though, maybe I'm just trying to justify my purchase of a case that cost over £30.Well, as you would expect, the case itself is rather high-quality. It's got a nice, textured feel, and fits in well with the modern minimalist surroundings of your average tech-enthusiast's desk. To the unassuming eye, it looks just like a normal case, if not a bulky one, though as soon as you hit the power button, the LEDs at the top of the cover light up in a most pleasing pattern to show you the time. Then, when you open it,the screen will merrily turn on, and then you'll have to fiddle a bit to hit the fingerprint reader, and then you'll finally be able to tuck the cover where it belongs when the phone is in use: right around the back.It does more than that. You can get an app that'll allow you to customise various patterns and allow you to make your own, and then assign them to various other apps. When you get a notification, it'll light up, and if you don't immediately go to look at it, it'll flash a pattern every now and then to remind you that it's there.Somewhat annoyingly, the hinge is a little stiff, meaning that, if you leave it open/folded backwards for too long, the cover won't properly go back down on the screen, sometimes bouncing back up in a most annoying fashion. If you have a little patience, it'll eventually stick, but the lack of magnets to hold it down is a tad irksome. The curve on the cover that wraps it neatly around the curved edges of the Note 9's screen also isn't that comfortable to hold, least of all because there's a constant worry that, if you don't hold it right/hold it too tightly, you'll bend it out of shape, and you £30+ case will be aesthetically unpleasing.Honestly, it's a stupid thing that seems more like something Apple would do, but it is a quality product, and if you bought the Note 9 at launch, it's only £30 more than the over £1000 price. However, while it may look nice, feel nice, work nicely, and fit in really well, it's just not worth it. Why have I rated it four stars, then? Well... again, it is a quality product. Just don't get it.

Normally I'm not a fan of flip cases- especially ones with a cardholder. I hate that I have to hold the case open to take a picture (I long for the day where a flip case allows you to take a photo through it) and especially with the cardholders I always found they were too close that the card would rub up against the screen. I decided to take the plunge and buy a flip case for my new note9 as I felt I just needed that all around protection whilst I'm getting used to its size. The first plus is that this case is perfectly compatible with my tempered glass screen protector. I feel overly confident in the case to protect the phone alone, but it does cover all the edges and the camera is well lifted from the back so unless I drop it (which I don't plan to do) I can't really remark on the protective quality.I absolutely love the colour and texture of this case, I went with the purple to match my phone and the fabric-like texture gives it plenty of grip. The LED front is really clever, I love all the different little icons and the ability to assign icons to contacts and notifications, the LED itself is nice and clear and it's quite fun albeit frustrating to create your own custom icons with somewhat limited space. I think maybe it would have been cool to have a wider area for the LED as there is a lot of dead space but I'm sure it was designed this way for a reason and I'm just picking at my own frustrations of not being able to do cool pixel art!At first, I was a little peeved that the case front doesn't seem to sit entirely flush to the screen, saying that I realised that this keeps the card away from the screen in the holder and that really there's no plausible reason to be annoyed by this as the case still works perfectly well. It might even be because it's still new that it's a little spaced at the front, I'm sure a few trips in the pocket will gradually close this. With regards to the cardholder, there really is only room for one card which is fine with me as I only take the one with me on a night out, although I'm sure you could fit some folded notes in here if you don't carry cards. All in all, this is a lovely phone case and the first I have purchased in a long while that I have been totally pleased with.

I've had many smart phones and tend to get through a case every year. Because of this i usually head for the budget end of the market finding one's in the region of £10 to guard my pride and joy... and they do this very well. My phones often look like the day they were bought when it comes to upgrade time so there's nothing wrong in the bargain basement in my eyes. So why go for this top end case? Well the Note 9 has been my most expensive phone to date and i had the cash to buy an official Samsung case, it looked neat and stylish and complimented the blue colour of my phone so why not. So glad i did, the fit is a perfect snug one where everything, buttons, cutouts, mic etc line up perfectly as they should with an official product at this price. The LED front is electronic wizardry, i love it. Because of NFC the phone instantly recognizes the case is fitted and adds options under the advanced features in the main phone settings menu. You get different icons flash up on the front cover when you recieve messages, phone calls etc. In red white and green. You even get an icon editor where you can assign different icons to different contacts and even draw and add your own. Just a little flip on the case and the current time flashes on the front which is a useful feature. It's just a cool bit of kit that does so much more than i expected. The camera and fingerprint sensor cutout on the rear of the case is neat and works well unlike the make do case i had at first where it was awkward to use the sensor to wake the phone up. One final thing to mention is the card holder inside. It only holds one card and an emergency £10 note which i found limiting at first as i used to carry 3 cards in my last case but I've worked around that problem. Overall really pleased even after having to pay top dollar as the product is top quality.

Very pleased with the case. Yes it doesn't magnetically close and when you first get it, it tends to gap open a bit, but after a few uses it closes properly. I've had Samsung window cases on my previous note 4 so I am used to them not closing properly when first put on phone. These cases are very slim on the phone which I like so that the phone can slip in and out of my pocket, handbag etc without a magnetic clasp catching. This does mean that if you drop your phone the case could come open and the screen get damaged - for me, I am careful with my phone, especially when out and about (hope I'm not tempting fate here!) and I don't drop them.Love the LED display that plays on the front cover. It shows the time, text and call alerts, can designate icons for favourite contacts - duck, rocking horse etc, volume etc when listening to music. Made my gdaughter jealous 'iphone don't do anything like that'!Also like the little pocket inside where you can tuck a credit card or a £10 note, if you like. The lavender coloured case looks good on my lavender coloured phone, it fits very tightly (in fact difficult to take off!), and as you'd expect from a Samsung product all the cut outs for camera, finger print reader etc are in the right place and the right size. The outer surface is textured so you get a good grip on phone - it's not going to slip out if your hand. The inner surface is suede-like and soft and so not going to harm the screen.I've had the case for about a month now and it's showing no sign of wear. I'm really happy with it and would/will buy another one when this one does eventually become damaged or worn.

Great functioning case.Deciding I should try and keep a phone for more than a year I decided I wanted to ditch my screen protector as they seem to break after a few weeks so is should invest in a full-screen case. This case seemed like a logical choice.I bought the same case for my not eight and hated it. This model has some improvements over that phone; it covers the front and backs the top and sides. The bottom is exposed, so the ports, pen and charger are not blocked, but there is enough protection to prevent some damage allowing you to charge the phone wired with the case. The volume up and down is covered but can be pressed under the case, the power button exposed so can be touched but shielded at the sides. The clear view screen is excellent; it runs off NFC to make the screen stay black while closed looks similar to the always-on display, and you can see necessary notifications through answer calls and change tracks on songs. The screen is enough to protect while in your pocket from scratching. There could be some improvements made such as a magnet to close the case I use a wireless charger, and sometimes the screen will open as I place it on the pad. That said I’ve had about 10 cases I’ve hated and this is the first I’m happy with would recommend.

This is a great case overall! The Note 9 cannot support a case with magnetic closure due to interference with the S Pen (see image for a previous phone case, not this case), so you'll never find a magnetically closing case for this phone that doesn't screw with it sadly. This is why the feature is missing from the Samsung cases. This case is sturdy and slim, with a great stand which I did use often (now switched to the leather version of this case). The thing I didn't like was it tended to get very dirty very quickly. Finger prints were immediately visible after cleaning so it always looked a little grubby.I did once accidentally drop my phone down about 20 feet of wooden stairs in this case (flipping side ways like a wheel and bouncing off it's edges and corners)and landed in an ∆ shape (case open, propped up) on the floor below me. I obviously assumed my lovely new phone was now gone and approached it with my undergarments quickly browning. The phone and case were both spotless! Not a crack, dent, scratch or scuff. I thanked every deity I could think of and went back upstairs to change.Overall I liked it, but prefer my new leather version of the Samsung case.

Having previously upgraded from the Galaxy Note 4 to the 9 I wanted a case that mirrored my last case - I could be advised of messages etc when it was closed, it would activate the phone as soon as I opened it and would deactivate the phone when closed - this does exactly that. Made of a durable matt finish the phone feels great in the hand and with the subtle grooves can be placed on shiny surfaces without slipping and sliding all over the pace. The ingenious tech lets me know when I have received a message, call, text etc through a dot matrix style symbol. This can also tell me the time. On opening the phone my login screen appears and after using the phone as soon as I shut the case the phone immediately goes into standby. The case is hard wearing and durable. My only complaint - and this has nothing to do with the case - but in order to use fingerprint access the sensor is now on the reverse of the phone and so if it is sitting in my car cradle with the case folded back to see the screen the phone cannot read my fingerprint. Fast delivery and very professionally packaged. Very please and would recommend highly

Surprised at how nice this item is it has exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend the case to anyone, no problems with my type of usage. I have read some negative reviews and can see that it may not suit some people but I find it excellent and a high quality case that has nice features for my Note 9, the texture I find superb it provides wonderful tactile grip. The led display is clear and very easy to read and you can customise notifications and icons, I love how you can answer calls without opening the case and I also like the look of the phone with the case attached. All ports stylus etc are all easily accessible with the case fitted, from some of the negative reviews I have read they state that the case does not protect the screen if dropped this is because the case does not clip shut or have any fastening so will open if dropped. I have a glass screen protector in place but have not dropped my phone so far, I am very careful when using my phone anyway and have never had a cracked screen on any mobile I have owned. In summary a stylish covering for your Note 9 highly recommended.

Great design as expected from a genuine Samsung product. I have a selection of cases and covers for my note 9. I have a fantastic heavy duty, dust proof case, which is great for when I'm doing DIY etc. I wanted a case that looked less like it would survive a nuclear attack. Something a little slimmer and sleek. This one is perfect for every day, its great for typing or watching Video as the case folds back and hold the screen in place.I love that I can see what's important without flipping the case open.I've recently fitted a whitestone tempered glass screen on my phone which is not an issue with this case. But, my previous screen protector was not compatible. That's not an issue for me as the Whitestone screen protector is so much better. I would not be happy using this case or any similar without a glass screen protector. It's fantastic when closed, but the screen would be vulnerable whilst in use. My only tiny gripe is that when talking on the phone the screen cover can get in the way a little. But, that gripe is not enough to put me off using. I have five cases, this is easily my favourite.

There's no doubt this is a well made premium case. Perfect fit and looks and feels great. Personally I was expecting more from the front notification screen. Firstly it's not an always on display. Meaning you have to press your power button or open and close the case to activate the clock display. Which stays on visible for a few seconds. Secondly, if you've missed or not heard a text or call there is no indication from the case that you have any form of notification waiting. I was expecting at least a small light like on your phone. This is probably the the best wallet style case you can buy, and so it should be for the price. But forget about your notifications and your always on clock. You cant even see the time during the night without scrambling for your phone the dark the activate the clock. If your used to a wallet style case you can't go wong, this really is premium quality but don't expect too much more it terms of functionality. I would have gave it 5 stars if it had at least a notification indicator.

Reviews I had read nearly put me of buying this wallet. How wrong were they. This is a high quality wallet that is the perfect protector for my new Note 9. I previously had a similar cover on my Note 4 for 3 years and my phone was in perfect condition when I went to sell it. This cover is even more protective as it protects sides of phone. Reviewers complained re a lack of magnet. I didn't have a magnet on my previous cover either - magnet not needed as the cover is made specifically for phone. Also it has amazing ability to show me from a closed cover the % charge, the time or when I get a message. Not sure how that works but its greatI bought the purple wallet to match the lavender phone. Its lovely and looks quite upmarket. I expect it all to last another 3 years I'm very pleased and I would say order and try. I had ordered leather wallet too. I would say this one is better.

I've found this case to be really good for my Galaxy Note 9. Being able to see essential details through the case when the front is closed is very useful. I know some people have commented that the front cover doesn't always stay closed, but I find it not to be a problem because I invariably carry the whole phone, with the case on, in a belt holster for safety and convenience. I don't like taking too many chances of dropping my phone or of leaving it somewhere so I've found a good holster case that accommodates this very well. The Samsung case folds open to provide a stand to allow videos or other work to be shown on the phone. Also, the front of the case can be used as an emergency mirror should one so desire, even though it's not immediately noticeable as such and therefore doesn't detract from the overall nice look of the case.

Really needed a case that looks good, will last and will also turn the 'phone off when closed and the Samsung case meets all of these requirements. Price was good, as long as you aren't too fussy about the colour - we liked the grey so it suited us, but other colours were more expensive. As it is an OEM item, it fits perfectly and the quality of the leather is good. For my tastes, the leather is a little too smooth, making the whole thing a bit too slippery and this is why it gets 4 stars. We are quite nervous when handling the 'phone due to this fact. I am certain though, that once it's had a bit of wear, this issue will go away. The 'phone is turned off when the cover closes as well. Overall, this is recommended, just be careful during the first few months as the cover can be a bit slippery, but perseverance will pay off.

Fantastic case, its great to get last generation products, you find you save so much, whether its the phone or the accessories, this item last year would have been sold near full price 25 pounds, but now Note 10 is out, this product has been reduced to a very affordable 7pounds, does it make it a lesser product, no, not at all, it fits the phone very well and the feel of the silicone is good, does not add much more bulk to the phone and it fits very snuggly. Not sure if the phone would fall out if it hits the floor as the bottom part of the phone is not covered and i have a feeling if the impact was on the bottom corner, the phone would probably fall out and sustain scratches (i think impact would be absorbed by the case).Feel good case yes, full protection, not really but getting stylus out is very easy and straightforward.

I always buy Samsung flip covers for my Samsung phones. It has a far better design with more coverage to the sides protecting the phone. It has a textured fabric effect still plastic but this gives more grip.the edges curve round the phone to give a streamline feel. You can assign icons to the led panel for your contacts or customise your own. Go to settings/advance freatures/accessories/led view cover. The led view cover you can swipe to pick up or decline calls. You can also control music without opening the cover of your phone. The Samsung flip covers for me always give the best protection front and back in a streamline form.I have only one negative and that is the price.I know it will go down in the next few months but forced to pay as waiting to protect your phone is a no no.
