This purchase came about when my wife managed to get moisture in her previous Sony Ericsson mobile.The screen fogged up and the answer call button stopped working, so a new phone was called for.She doesn't take photos and a phone camera would baffle her anyway.There is not a lot of choice for a straightfoward phone/text mobile these days and the Samsung E1130B came up as part of my search for one.Once I had seen the amazing (Polish) YouTube severe (and I do mean severe!!!) testing of this phone and bearing in mind the previous moisture experince, it was a natural choice.Most sellers illustrated the model with orange trim that looked at least a bit natty for a lady,but the dull grey trim one seemed to be all that was available.The most negative reaction we had was that it looked a bit "cheap", but this impression was given by the use of a less brittle plastic that just gets marked if you drop it, rather than cracking like most do, (check the Polish guy dropping it from a ladder, where it just collects a little "ding" on the corner).It has very good battery life, feels secure in your hand, has decent sized buttons in a relatively small mobile.The desk top might imply that it's a touch-screen model - which it isn't.Ladies - if you don't feel too confident about the setting up, get the nearest teenager to do the business for you (there's plenty you can tweek if you want to) - then just enjoy the simplicity of use.If you think mobile phones are getting too techno, then this is for you. There is a small acknowledgement to style in the fine orange trim line around the big button and teamed up with a tastefully grey pouch your mobile can look quite swish. For the guys, the fact that this phone looks like it could take a lot of punishment in the back pocket of your working jeans is every reason to own one.It has still only lived for 2 or 3 weeks with us but it does the basic tasks without fault and we look forward to it doing so for a good few years!

I bought this phone primarily for work and it does the job well. I needed a phone with a long battery life and was rugged enough to use in all conditions. This phone meets these needs. Note that the phone case sort of sticks together when you close it after putting a sim card in, if you opened this a lot I wonder how well this would stand up. The keyboard has a slight delay in its action so maybe not good for those who text a lot. The internal memory is non-expandable and is adequate for your phonebook but not much else. The bluetooth is very good, as a mobile worker I needed in-car (see my review of the Avantalk BTCK-10B) and the phone is easy to link.In summary; a good basic phone that should stand a fair ammount of use at a reasonable price. 1 star off a full recommendation because I would have liked more memory, but Samsung give you a fairly useful torch and a radio instead. I suppose you cant have everything for £40!

If you need a Phone that will run for ever, this is the one,, simple, no gimiks and all works as it should.Battery will last ages (Had it for a week) playing with it all the time and battery still half full, Great.If you want a phone that does what it says in the tin,, this is the one, Small, simple to use and will do what ever you ask of it,, what more do you want from a phone! and at a great price,,Try it and see, you will not regret it..I have been looking for a phone like tis one for ages,, now I have found it and very pleased with it,,Great

Does what the makers' claim - incoming call volume could be a little clearer, but otherwise a simple, practical, functional tool for people who need a phone not a 'lifestyle' (like they've got one...) statement
