I fitted these last week just ahead of the first seriously cold spell of the winter and was really impressed with the results.I use heated grips through the winter but always have trouble with cold fingers thanks to them only really heating my palms effectively. I've tried hand guards but couldn't tell any difference so these were my last resort and I really wish I had gone for them years ago. These were a lot cheaper than Oxford of Tucano branded items so I was measured in my expectations. The fitting takes just a few minutes - My mchine has bar mounted mirrors and these fitted tight around them without the need to make any cuts or modifications. The only thing I didn't do from the instructions was attach the strap to link the two muffs together as the bars are too wide; though that's mot a problem that I can see.I could wear my winter gloves with them but found they was more room with summer gloves so decided to try them this way to start with.Initially I tried to follow the tip of one of the previous reviewers and turn the plastic bits inside out to give the muffs a bit of rigidity but I found I couldn't use the indicators safely and everything was briefly terrifying. After 10 miles i turned them back out and the difference was amazing. I had full control of the machine, all the switchgear was available without any effort and the only reason you could tell they were there was my fingers weren't cold.I did 4 four-hour evening shifts in frosty conditions last week without feeling in the least bit uncomfortable. On Monday it was warmer but it was raining in biblical fashion and my hands remained dry throughout.Riding at 70 doesn't seem to cause any trouble, there's no sign of them collapsing and pushing against levers so honestly; I'm chuffed to bits.Just to add - I have tested them with winter gloves and they do work; though with less room, and no appreciable benefit (summer gloves work fine with heated grips on medium down to -3) so I'm happier using the thinner ones.Highly, Highly recommended!

First things first, they look as bad as you think they are going to, you just can't get round that fact, they are also a bit of a faff to fit as they are a one fit for all bikes. Now the good stuff. They are equal quality to the Oxford branded ones but half the price. They have a nice stiff surrounds to make it easy to get your hands in and out of (they need a bit of squeezing to get them round as they have been packed flat I stuffed a cushion in them overnight) My bike has hand guards so there is no problem with them interfering with the levers and I put a small hole through the side and screwed the bar ends through the hole so they have no movement at all. Now the really good stuff,I have just got back from a 60 mile ride in the rain along a fast dual carriage way with loads of spray (wouldn't have done but I had to get the bike in for its MOT) my gloves are totally dry all the wind blast was gone. I have heated grips but even heated grips only help so much if its cold and raining and your gloves are soaked through. One feature that is not mentioned is they have a little mesh pocket inside them so you can put little chemical hand warmer packs in them. If you can get over your mates laughing at you then get them, at least you look like a roughty tough year round biker.

I suffer with cold hands. Over the years I have spent a fortune on heated gloves ( which work well but are a faff with the cabling etc; ), expensive winter gloves and handguards which have only had limited success in keeping my pinkies warm! I wasn't expecting much from these muffs but thought for £20 inc postage I'd give them a punt. Well-I am very impressed. Firstly, I own a vfr1200x crosstourer and despite initial misgivings as to whether they would fit over the handguards when I actually fitted them it was as though they were custom made for the bike and really easy to fit. Next came the 'ride' test. Today was 12*c with a 25mph wind so the wind chill made it feel colder.I rode the bike wearing my lightest summer gloves with the heated grips on their lowest setting. The result was lovely warm hands and me kicking myself for not buying these years ago. The product itself seems to be well made and robust with straps and poppers strategically placed to ensure a good fit. I can highly recommend that, if like me you suffer with cold hands whilst riding, these Ryde handlebar muffs are ridiculously good value for money and do a great job of keeping your hands warm

Well, you are reading this as you are thinking about buying these 'muffs' but you are a bit worried they mightA) look naff or cheap B) make you look like an inner city courier on a nasty little twist and go smashing off wing mirrors of BMW drivers who close the gap when you try to filter through or C) you are tempted but just not quite sure.I was in the same boat as you as an option C kinda guy but after reading other reviews I took the plunge and to say I am chuffed to bits is an understatement. I had a 260 mile round trip yesterday and what a difference it makes to your all weather riding when you can actually use your hands when you stop at the other end! They are big and cumbersome in your hands out of the box but when fitted to the bike they are not that big. There are no problems with them pushing on your brake/clutch levers as there is a strap on this pair which link them together to stop them from pushing back. Only idiots will struggle to fit these properly and have problems with them.Do it. Spend your money and genuinely enjoy riding your bike during the cold weather and then take them off and look cool again in the summer.

Finally caved to the cold and bought these for my commute through Central London and my fingers are very grateful.I ride a Honda 500CBF, and they look pretty big and clunky, but that does mean they don't interfere with the controls. They were pretty easy to set up, though if you tighten them up too much you'll end up restricting your movement or interference - I found that if the strap keeping them attached to each other is too tight, my brake lever would catch in freeplay.Unfortunately, if you don't tighten them *enough*, there's a fairly large gap around the side mirrors, and this can let the cold in. I've found on especially cold mornings, I'll still end up with frosty fingers, though it takes a lot longer. There is a small pocket in the top of each muff for a hand warmer, though I haven't used this.In the rain, they're not waterproof, but they are resistant. The knuckles of my gloves were only slightly damp after about 45 minutes. All in all, for the price, they're pretty good.

These things are a bit fiddly to fit, but not really hard. I unscrewed the mirrors on my Honda CB125F, fitted the muffs, and put the mirrors back on. I may not have needed to, but it seemed easier. I didn't have to cut a hole in the muffs for the mirror stems, which the instructions said would be needed for some models. It takes a few minutes to learn how to use the controls inside the muffs, but that isn't really hard either. I used my full winter gloves to ride for about an hour at 30 to 40 mph at 2 degrees Celsius. My hands were a bit cold, but my fingers didn't hurt. I feel the cold a lot, and had previously needed to stop after an hour riding at 6 degrees Celsius because my fingers were hurting and I needed to massage them.So these muffs will make the difference between me riding and not riding this winter. I doubt they would be warm enough for me at motorway speeds, but I do feel the cold a lot. And I haven't tried it. In fact my bike doesn't do motorway speeds!

Bought this for my FZ6. These are generic so should fit nearly everything. They are quite sloppy on my Fazer so they won't keep all the rain out, but as others have said they do the job of taking the brunt of the wind chill. Room inside is enough to wear my winter gloves and get to the controls, it takes some getting used to but is quite safe. There are holes for the reservoirs to poke through, but mine only had one for the brake so the other is redundant. A strap with Velcro holds the two muffs together, whilst each muff has an additional strap. There are poppers to adjust the tightness but mine were wares, luckily the one straight one was the one I needed anyway.Far bigger than I expected. They actually hit the mirrors at full lock but not enough to worry about. I look forward to seeing how weird it will be filtering in these as they now protrude wider than the bars and mirrors! They are only soft though so shouldn't matter.

Top quality at a great price!I see a lot of people here with pictures that haven't fitted them properly. The lip is designed to be folded inside itself, not only to keep the Muffs open but to also stop movement and interference with any switches. They are pretty huge and they're not easy on the eye, I can only imagine that they would look even more ridiculous on smaller bikes. With that in mind, they're not supposed to be aesthetically pleasing, they're serving a purpose and I can definitely commend them for that.I've been riding recently with just handguards and heated grips, I still ended up with icy fingertips and numbness. These changed that, they elimate the wind altogether and I couldn't be happier that it's no longer an issue for me.If you're considering these to get you through the winter then I'd definitely recommend them, they're half the price of the Oxford ones and they work just as well (if not better).

Bought these on a whim to throw on my Honda CB500X over winter. I already have heated grips but wanted to see how much difference the muffs make.No doubt about it, they do make your hands much warmer. I can have the grips on a lower setting and still be comfortable. They're large, as expected, so you can get your hands in and out very easily but they do look a bit dorky on smaller bikes. It's a small trade off for warm(er) hands though. I use hand guards so they do not foul the levers, I can't speak for a bike without hand guards. They fit on easily and are secured with straps, easily adjustable depending on the bike you're using them on.There is a large gap around where the mirror stem is which lets some air in,but this may be my own fault by not adjusting them enough as my hand guards may be too large.I like them and for the price there's not a lot to lose, give them a try!

Bought the muffs based on the price and the usual unpredicatable british weather (14 degrees today after riding in -2 degrees last week!).I was surprised at how well these things work. I suffer from really bad cold hands, with the usual need to dive into my bed for 20 minutes after riding home from work. However, I put these on my bike in artic conditions and they did the trick. My hands were cold at the end of a 45 minute ride, but not the painful frost bite I usually recieve. The only downside is the loose fitting around the bars, but there are plenty of straps to keep them in place and I assume they are like this to accomodate lots of bikes. The quality is great and for the price you cant go wrong. The only downside is the strange looks you get from people riding through town, because it looks like you have put wings on your bike!

These needed some adapting because I was trying to fit them onto a Ducati Supersport which has short handlebars mounted on stems. But I realised this would be a problem when I ordered them so I was happy to make some changes to them. They have lots of features to enable them to be strapped or clipped to a variety of handlebars so people with normal handlebars shouldn’t have a problem. They are huge which is a bit embarrassing, especially on a sport bike (not cool), but I’m happy to live with that for the benefit of warm dry hands. They are very sturdy and I expect they will keep my hands bone dry even in torrential rain.I've only given one star for "stretch" because they are not meant tostretch.

I really wanted to give these 5 stars. They are well made, easy to fit and do a great job of keeping my hands warm and dry on my scooter commute to work. However, they lose a star because of the poor quality poppers used to secure them around the brake fluid reservoirs. I couldn't get them to stay closed even on the loosest setting, and ended up having to drill through them and thread a small cable tie through them to keep them closed. Not a major problem as I intend to keep them on until the spring, but it's a shame as if it wasn't for this, these would be perfect for the price. Perhaps the seller could give some feedback to the manufacturer and advise them to use much stronger poppers?

18.11.2017

These are really well made. The fit is very good, with an adjustable press stud strap that goes around the mirror stem and a buckle fastener around the bars. There is an elasticated web which stretches over behind the switch cluster. As with all bar muffs, you really need to have hard hand guards installed first. I've got "Bark Buster" style metal brush guards on my KLX and these muffs fit over them perfectly. If you don't have hard hand guards you will probably find the muffs interfere with your levers and can start pressing the clutch and brake levers back when the speed gets up.I've ordered more of these for my other bikes.

These are great! I read through all the reviews and thought I'd have a try and if they didn't work I'd send them back. My hands went from being frost bitten to slightly chilly. This is no joke! One thing that I did do is to flip the hard bit in so the muffs stay open, it does catch on the controls going on but can be put between them and actually hold itself on. I haven't tied mine together and they do perfectly fine. I've spent hundreds of pounds on winter gloves that say they are the best and I wish I just bought these. You may get called a pansy or wimp however when you get off and your hands are warm who's the real winner??

9.12.2019

I was a little concerned initially about slip in and out safety wearing winter gloves but definitely no worries here. After only 5 minutes riding got used to the extra pair on pair of gloves. Also got a feel straight away for levers and controls. As I stick to the speed limits no issues with wind pushing against clutch and brake leversAs far as wind chill is concerned. Eliminated! Tested For over 2 hours on very cold day. Hands stayed cosy and warm I don’t think they look too big or too Out of place on my royal Enfield Himalayan Very quick and easy to fit and remove. Excellent quality and value.
