I LOVE these pens! I have Harley Davidson checks and this is the perfect orange to compliment those and my address labels! I first purchased a multi color pack with blue, green, pink, orange and purple. The gel is much brighter and easier to read in the Pentel EnerGel-X than any other pen or ink type I've tried in all the colors. I went back to black and blue ink for a few weeks after mine ran out and I just didn't like it after spoiling myself with this great orange for so long. I think the ink lasted well, I went back through my check register and I started about 10 months before I ran out, I didn't use it for anything else tho, just check and envelope writing.I am also a southpaw and I don't experience lefty smear with this ink much, so it dries quickly. The shape of the pen is comfortable and the rubber cushion is a nice touch for long periods of use. I like the click feature as well because I am never good at keeping track of a cap! Fun. Vivid Ink. Great buy with the 12 pack!

Second year university student here. I've gone though a lot of pens in those two years - used and discarded or used until they ran out of ink. And I can say with confidence, these lovely pens are as good as it gets. They are comfy and sturdy to hold - a little bit thicker around the middle than some, just like me - but just the right fit for your hand. The click open and shut is a strong, clear click, not one of those little quiet fussy ones that break easily - this one has strength. If you are prone to clicking your pen at work or in class - this one is guaranteed to drive everyone else up the wall! And the 0.7 tip is just right for making notes - not too thick and not too fine and spidery. And the ink - lovely and dark, runs smoothly and easiily and looks neat and tidy. Or as neat and tidy as my handwriting ever gets. Brilliant. And what more could you ask for?

I have been teaching high school English for the past 9 years (daunting, I know). I really do not like to use red pens because they always make a paper look like it's bleeding hence it has a negative connotation. Regardless, I have always used green pens. These particular pens, the Pentel EnerGel-X are pretty much as good as it gets. They write smoothly, and rarely smear. Everything I have ever wanted in a pen. I wish that they sold them in bulk at Office Max, though, because that is where my school gets supplies. Since they do not, I have to buy them with my own money :(. The simple fact of the matter, is that I am willing to part with upwards of $100 per school year to use these pens. That's an endorsement!!!

Simply the best everyday Gel Ink pen I've found on Amazon for writing, sketching, & note taking.Pros: Quick retractable button (so, no fiddly pen caps), just the right size .07mm point, Gel Ink leaves a nice legible line, sturdy rubber section on the pen body gives a steady grip, & a handy pocket clip. The pen is neatly housed in a smooth, rounded-edged plastic form, that feels lovely in the hand. An easy pen to like. Pentel quality brand shows through.Cons:My daughter keeps taking these pens from my desk to do her little drawings. She gives these 5 stars, and she's tried everything. I must stock up again, then!

i AM TO THE POINT THAT I CAN BARELY WRITE A WORD IF I DO NOT HAVE ONE OF THESE PENS. I BUY THEM BY THE BOX OF 12 AND HIDE THEM FROM ANYONE ELSE. THEY DO SEEM TO RUN OUT OF INK QUICKLY BUT I REALLY CANNOT JUDGE BECAUSE I NEVER USE A PENCIL. AM GOING TO LOOK INTO THE RE-FILLS THOU AS THESE ARE GETTING COSTLY. BUT I LOVE,;LOVE, EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PEN. AS A FORMER WRITER AND EDITOR, A PEN WAS ALWAYS A MUST - AND IT STILL IS. FINDING A GOOD ONE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A CHALLENGE...NO MORE, AS LONG AS THEY KEEP MAKING THIS ONE.

I received one of these pens for free during a promo some time back and ever since I have been in love with this pen!! One of the best ever!!! Such smooth & consistent writing & print & it doesn't seem to dry out if you let it sit for awhile. I just pick it up, click, and begin writing!! No scribbling on a piece of scratch paper to get the ink to start flowing again so that I can begin writing. Great pen!! Bonus is that its refillable too!! Con is that the refills cost about as much as a brand new pen.

The Pentel EnerGel pens are great to use. I personally use them ALOT for writing essays, exams etc... Each pen lasts around a month (And that is due to continuous usage) so they are long-lasting. Obviously depending on your usage they can last much longer. The price is also very reasonable. The reason i gave it 4 stars is that the pen tips are a bit too thick for my liking (I prefer pens that have thin pen tips for neater handwriting) but other than this is a good product.

My son is left handed and all pens seemed to smudge. A friend lent him this pen and, for the first time, his writing was smudge-free. I brought a box of black pens and a box of blue pens. For some reason, the black pens are slightly better - there can be a little smudging with the blue.I was also pleased with the price on Amazon. I only found these pens on sale in one well known supermarket, but they were half the price on Amazon.

Pentel pens have always been one of my favourite brands and these do not disappoint. The 0.7 mm is great for clear writing and flows very smoothly. The ink dries pretty quickly on absorbent paper though you need to take care with any non-matt surface. It's a moderately chunky pen with a comfortable rubber grip. These are also a great price working out at just over 75p each (£9.22 for 12 at time of review). Pretty happy with these.

I've used these pens for years and, although they run dry faster than other pens, they are the smoothest cheap pen out there. The ink is awesome. Really black and solid lines. They really make the Pilot G2's look bad. I'm very anal about my pens since I write a lot. Short of fountain pens, these things are hard to beat. Be careful though. People really like them once they use them and they tend to disappear fairly easily.

I've been looking for pens that can handle my work environment. I'm outside in all weathers, highly active, and left handed. I've been plagued by pens that stop writing, pens that leak, and pens that just fall apart (I've went through a packet of standard Bic pens in a week). These are the only ones so far that haven't leaked, fallen apart or stopped writing. And they've had to handle winter too. Great Pens!

Great pens. They are wet pens but because they are thin they dry really fast, so I get no smudges. Also they are retractable which I like so I don't get to loose the top. I decided to buy these because they are half the price of the uniballs I usually buy. They are just as good or better! I will buy these again! These are one of the best pens you can buy. My children won't use other pens to do their homework.

These are great pens; they make nice smooth lines without skipping and are very dependable. I am a college professor and use them for grading papers; the orange ink stands out nicely (I avoid using red ink - too many bad memories lol). They are also useful for editing and writing names and messages on birthday cards, etc. I have been using these pens for years and have yet to find anything comparable.

I've always liked the Japanese pen brands (Muji, Pentel, Pilot, etc) for writing, as they tend to produce smooth flowing ink.The soft rubber grip makes this pen comfortable to hold, even for long periods of time, plus it's retractable, meaning there's no need to worry about misplaced pen lids. On the high street, these retail for almost £2 each, so £12 for 12 pens is a bargain!

For those of us who are handwritingly challenged, the gel pens do really help. The pentel gel pens are the smoothest gel pens I have ever used. The rubber holder ensures the pen fits snug in your hand and the ink flows smoothly giving you a really nice fluid hand motion.Highly recommended and the quick drying means the left handed people can also benefit from using these pens.
