I bought this lens to take on holiday to Orlando to save being weighed down by my slightly heavy and bulky Sigma zooms. I did however take the WR kit zoom that came with my K3 in case of bad weather. The 21mm was never off my camera except for the last day when I thought I ought to give the zoom a whirl. For going round the parks, catching the family and the attractions this turned out to be a perfect focal length and while I am not going to get technical, because there will be others more qualified than I to give a proper critique, to me the image quality is excellent. Put it this way, I'm absolutely delighted with my pictures and as a recent convert to saving RAW,and having just made the software change to Lightroom (thanks Apple for the impending death of Aperture) I've produced some real stunners using this lens. The small size, negligible weight and general lack of obtrusiveness of this lens also means that in combination with a Pentax DSLR you have an absolute gem for street photography. Zooms have their place, but this lens is definitely moving me back to using primes for preference.

This is my second lens from the Limited series, Ricoh's flagship lens range for their Pentax DSLRs.. Due to changes in my overall kit I lacked a wider option than the 35mm standard prime and was looking at the zooms and primes available. Normally there would be no way I would spend £400+ on a wide lens, but having recently been gob-smacked at the results from my new 70mm Limited on the K-3 I succumbed in the end and ordered the 21mm.Now I'm not one for resolution graphs or test charts, but I know when a lens delivers for me. Elsewhere, reviews of this lens mention an edge softness, but for my mainly model work it's the quality near, but not actually at the edge, that matters for me.On my first test exposures, yes it DOES deliver! £400 is a lot of money, but I'm happy with the purchase!

Have recently moved away from zoom lenses and back to fixed primes. The difference in image quality is significant and this Pentax 21mm does not disappoint. Quick to focus, crisp sharp photos and a small, lightweight lens that turns already small Pentax DSLRs into great travel cameras as well as serious DSLRs.Very pleased. This is now the default lens on my camera.

Very well made, solid feeling with no give in any of the movements. Focussing is quick and the image quality excellent. The main draw to this lens for me was the compact size. Attached to a K-5 provides you with a very nice quality system that is lightweight and travels well.

Superb, totally different even from my expensive zooms. Shots have real 'life'. Lightweight, good angle of view, now my favourite lens. Great not to have to think about zooming, too. Lens hood is great, no need for a protective UV filter.
