Quite possibly the finest spinning reels on earth, I heavily fish Lake Michigan and its rivers, I mainly fish Bass, Waleye, Pike, and Muskie, I own 2 4000's, a 5000, and a 6000, Built like if Rolex made bank vaults, smooth as silk, perfect fit and finish, you couldn't ask for a better drag system, incredible torque and power, they have added maybe 20 yards to my casts, I was running my 5000 with 50lb braid and 40lb Flurocarbon Leaders, when I hooked a 28" Waleye and a 31" Northern Pike and literally didn't even fight the fish, just ratcheted up the drag and straight reeled them in, at one point the Waleye was pulling about 14lbs of drag. The 5000 and 6000 are on the heavy side but balance out my heavier rods, the 4000 is an incredible mid weight reel but still very solid. I'll end up replacing all my spinning reels eventually. Some of my fishing buddies needled me a bit for having reels that were "too heavy" for lake fishing, well our first outing shut them up, 2 of my friends have since bought Clash 3000's. Buy this reel, it's worth it!

Tough as nails! I have been snagging with this reel about 6 different weekends since the first of the year. This reel has hauled in 60 plus high fin blue cat ranging 1 lb to 25 lbs all from 50 to 100 yards out. The 25 lb was hooked right in the back part of the tail. This reel is still as tight as the day I first used it. Drag is awesome too even when I got hung up and had to break off, the drag helped to get it done. When you get a fish on or when you are slashing through the water with a 5 ounce bank sinker, the handle is a dream to reel, very smooth and sturdy. No complaints and I have purchased the smaller version 6000 too, for slip corking in my favorite cat spots. Can't wait till the flats start running!!Good luck!

Would give 5 stars if it was sealed similar to Spin Fisher 5. Excellent reel, very smooth but saltwater can enter via cutouts on spool skirt. That is a real concern here in Hawaii especially with the surf we get here on Hilo side of Big Island. One of our youtubers on Kauai is reporting wind knots with braid line,no such problem encountered by myself,in fact, cast like a dream using Sunline FC 14lb Sniper florocarbon and Airwave Elite rod.Need to close bail by hand after casting, this is a design feature to prevent snapping of a $20 lure due to premature bail closing.

I purchased a 3000 clash, used it pretty hard the first day, drag is amazing, silky smooth, EVA handle is a bit larger than i expected, but its very comfortable and is easy to get used to. Has a seal under the drag knot, as well as cealed ball bearings and a cealed clutch bearing, there is no anti-reverse on the 3000. Very smooth, powerful, and the line lay is better than any other reel ive ever seen, i have it paired with a 7ft med/heavy calico jack, 10-20lb and i love it. Super light weight, will be getting a 2000 to go with it.

For all your inshore and near shore needs. The CLASH won't disappoint. Rugged, light weight. You can cast and skip docks for days. It's simply as good as shimanos stradic and so much cheaper. Specifically made for braid and line markings to tell you when she's full to prevent wind knots. Smooth drag is essential to landing big fish. And the CLASH is smooth as can be. Pulled in 20 lb snook 3 days ago and big reds biggest 30 lbs with my 2500. Great reel I'm replacing all my older reels that crap out with the CLASH.

I have been using this pole as my main replacement. I originally had a Penn Pursuit II rod/reel combo which was used for all of my overall fishing when jigging on a boat or fishing the back bays. Recently paired this reel with 20lb braid and a Tsunami TBSS-701MH and it is such a fantastic combo. Although I have not pulled in anything bigger than some 2-3lb fluke, I am hoping this reel lives up to the hype after landing some bigger gamefish, but so far I have not been disappointed

So far I'm impressed, but tuna still not here in force yet, only caught a few bottom dwellers upto 5 lbs, but did catch my personal best 8 lb Calaco, and that fish was angry. Of course all catch and release. Im hoping the Clas will handle up to 35 lb tuna. overall very good product form Penn. it does have a slight tic upon retrieve and my search results says its in all Clashers. I purchased their Torque conventional reel too, it's a winner!

I own over fifteen Penn reels and love them all. I must say that this one is one of my all-time favorites. The weight, drag and smoothness is extremely good. I was recommended to buy this reel (by John Skinner - Saltwater Fishing Expert) combined with a 7' Penn Battalion, Medium Action Rod, for Fluke Fishing. It's such a good combination I just got a second one of the the Reels and Rod. I use (the second setup) for Saltwater Speckled Trout.

great reel for the money. very, smooth, sturdy, can use it in the cape cod canal for stripers with 25lb of drag can use it in multiple situations holds lots of line very good inches per turn. Penn has done a great job in improving their quality in competing the likes of quantum and okuma not to forget daiwa reels all very comparable. you don't have to smend tons of $$$ for a van stal or Zeebass to get quality for the money. my opinion

Fantastic reel! Bought 2 of the 2500s and bought a 5000. I use the 2500s for freshwater bass fishing and inshore fishing and the 5000 for poppers and other large lures. These reels are very smooth and feel amazing. The drag has never failed me on these reels. They are extremely light! They do not wear you down after a day of fishing. Also, you can't beat the price!

Best Reel ive ever used, I use it mostly in the ocean for rockcod/stripebass halibut and shark! The drag is perfect, but the best/valuable feature about the Clash, you can drop it in the sand, water or mud and nothing gets into the gear components!! Price is a lil high considering KastKing makes the same one for 100$ cheaper.

Ive really been enjoying how lightweight and sturdy the 6000 is. The casting is smooth, the drag stands up, and the overall feel is great. I've ordered the 8000 model recently to match up with 12" surf casting rod. I anticipate long casts and a reel that can take on anything from SFL sharks, cobia, snappers, and tapon.

This is a quality reel. I used to really like Quantum reels, but they haven't been that good the past few reels I got so I thought I would try this Penn. I got the 3000 series Clash and I used it for all the fishing I do. Freshwater and Saltwater. Very smooth, no issues after two years now, still working great.

In limited use so far, I love it. It's light, smooth and casts a mile. I replaced a Quamtum PT Inshore that was broken in an accident with this Clash and couldn't be happier with it. I"ve yet to catch a big redfish with it to test the drag but I am sure it will hold up fine.

Great especially since the bearings are sealed like the spinfishers minus the weight. This 4000 is slightly heavier than my 3000 fierce. Smoother when reeling in due to the added bearings of course. Love it best penn reel i own. Buddies want a clash too now.
