I went with park tool as they offer a life time guarantee. Great quality feels like it will last forever. Even if you are only a home mechanic it is worth spending the couple of extra quid on a park tools tool as you know you won't have problems down the line.

HCW5 bought to upgrade a 1979 Carlton Criterium to Shimano BBUN55 Square Taper Bottom Brackets. Worked well as the BB lock ring, unlike just about everything else, was not stuck. Also bought HCW11 which was essential for the next step and also worked well.

This spanner fits a small range of different sized lock nuts and I referenced Park Tool web site to make sure it would fit my bracket lock nut which it did and it worked quite well on the tripled locating end but not so good on the single c-spanner end.

Have given it five stars as it does exactly what it should do simple and effectively. If used properly and looked after it will give a lifetime of service on old fashioned bottom brackets..

Pricey but worth it to get the BB tight, 3 grip points much better than 1 on cheap lock ring spanners. If you work on bikes just occasionally still worth having around

It arrived quickly and it works as it should. I would certainly recommend this bottom bracket ring spanner and I would buy it again.

Bought this to fix my lads bike, i'm not expert so all i can say is it did the job with easy and feels very sturdy.

However I had to use a cold chisel to take off the locking ring on a 20 year old bike.
