Item arrived this morning, I had ordered it to fit a new chain i had bought when swapping from freewheel to freehub so went from 7 to 8 speed for now, swapping the front and rear mechs and probably the drive chain & a 10 speed cassette is definitely a job for summer, however the cheap chain tool i had could not split the new chain so ordered this, within 30 minutes i had fitted my new chain, cleaned the old and fitted to another bike replacing that chain and again in good old fashioned handme down style cut that chain to length (removing a few damaged links) and fitted to another bike, getting the oil of my hands with soap powder and washing up liquid was harder than fitting the chains thanks to this tools quality's,its designed right, oozes class & performs, the fact replacement drive pins are purchasable means its gonna last a life time regardless off what you need to put it through. a MUST have for any keen cyclist!

What a wonderful tool, i should of bough this first time round, instead of bothering with the smaller cheaper ones, This one can accommodate many different sizes of bike chains from 5 to 12 speed chains, Plus you can also change out the rivet pin, you can't do that on cheaper ones. Before you start shortening your bike chain.Practice a little on a spare one first, just so you can workout how many rotations you need to get the rivet out, but not completely out. This is my second parktool I've purchased and there will be more especially with the workman ship that goes into them?

Tried using the chain removal tool on a topeak multitool and struggled for ages and ended up ruing the chain and lost loads of links. Bought this thing and it removed the link and added a new link on the first attempts. Very very well built and solid construction, though a little on the heavy side and the removal head does shift a tiny bit. But very very impressed. A proper tool worth spending money on. I lose it a week later though and next time I think I will get the mini version for lightness.

Been trying to split a heavy duty 1/8 Half link chain , knackered two chain tools trying to do it, the rivets wouldn’t budge and hurt my hand too, took a punt at this tool,A-maz-ing pushed the rivets through no problem, it doesn’t have a fixed guide to remove tight links, but I can use a cheap chain tool for that, not cheap but I did the job and will last forever

This is a high quality strong and robust tool for bicycle chain pin removal. It has a chain seating guide to help hold chain in the correct position to allow chain pin to pushed through. Expensive but adheres to the old saying, buy right, buy once. Replacement needle heads are available to purchase if needed. This tool will last a lifetime. Excellent.

Needed to replace the front Derailleur, hence the need for the chain tool to break the chain.Have bought budget items before with mixed results. Since using Park Tools, I’ve never had an issue with them. Although can be more expensive, they are worth the price and reliable. I had the chain off and derailleur replaced with no hassle.

Having had other chan tools break within hours I can well imagine that I will have this for decades. The design is such that there's nothing to break on it. It's truck tough and a genius design. Park Tool can be a bit pricey but this is a classic and you should forget the rest and buy this.

Delivery was quick and the goods were as described. It was more money then I really wanted to pay for something I only use very occasionally. However it did the job well and so far I have used it to join at least 8 links...so I'm very pleased with it. I just hope it lasts.

I brought a cheap one of these from Halfords which broke the first time I used it. This item was much better. Very sturdy and well made and performed the task perfectly. Would have no hesitation in recommending this item. Well worth paying the extra for.

Probably higher quality than I needed considering I don't work in a bike shop. Still, will have it for ever. Kinda heavy if you plan on carrying it long distances, but that's hardly a big concern. If you're looking for quality, probably a good choice.

Anything with the "Park Tool" brand marking on it is always going to be good and this is no exception. Long finger grips make snapping the most stubborn of chains easy & the tool itself feels really strong.

A strong well made tool. I would recommend removing the handle and cleaning and greasing the threads for smoother operation. The threads came greased but not spotlessly clean.

Used this a few times now on KMC and Shimano chains and it's brilliant. Pops out rivets and secures the Shimano pins with equal aplomb. Don't bother buying any other.
