I wanted a pair of lightweight, pocketable, waterproof binoculars, and as these were at a good price and I've had a good experience with Olympus products, I thought these were worth a try. They are very compact when folded and easily fit into a normal jacket pocket (in the supplied protective bag). Although I haven't put it to the test, they are stated as waterproof and nitrogen filled to keep out the elements, and the rubber coating feels good and should protect them from minor knocks.I'm not an expert nor do I have any experience of using "top class" binoculars to compare these to. However I can say they clearly outperform two older cheap compact binoculars I've got (Natural Trust and Vivitar branded). The image is brighter and clearer by comparison (and unlike the Vivitars, no obvious colour distortions on the edges of objects), and I can really see fine details through them. I found them easy to adjust to my eyes with the adjustable diopter and twist out eyecups. The focus mechanism is nicely weighted and allows for precise and quick adjustment, and feels smooth, although oddly enough I hear a slight noise when adjusting the focus, but no big deal.If there's one minor annoyance it would be that the supplied lens caps are not attached in any way, so care must be taken not to lose them. I'd prefer it if they could be attached to the binoculars. Overall happy with these though.

I work shifts on the short sea trade and like to carry my own binoculars which need to be lightweight and fit in my pocket. These are therefore ideal. I hadn't originally planned to order the "pearl white" but since the normal silver was out of stock it didn't matter. Since using them the pearl white has actually proven to be very useful since it makes them easy to find if I put them down on the dark ship's bridge. Although 8 x 21 isn't the optimum for use at night these perform very well and far better than the cheaper 8 x 21's that I've owned in the past. For daylight use the very good image quality is as would be expected from the Olympus brand. The construction also seems robust. The only odd point is that the securing neck strap is only secured to a single point on one side of the binoculars rather than the usual double side securing. Only a very minor issue but it takes some getting used to.

These are lovely stylish budget lightweight binos which I use for wildlife watching. They are much lighter than the 10x50 pair I normally use which are literally a pain in the neck after carrying them around more an hour or so. Although obviously they dont have the light gathering power of the 10x50 they are brighter than I expected considering they have a mere 21mm objective aperture. They are easy to set up and the focusing is easy even with gloves. As they are very light, they tend to shake a bit, but it's acceptable. I can't comment on the sharpness of the image compared to top flight binos (costing ten times more) as I've never owned any, but the image looked sharp to my 53 year old eyes. They are very good for the price and I recommend them.

These binoculars are actually clearer than I expected given the 21mm objective lens. The centre focal adjustment is a little stiff but this is probably no bad thing as I expect them to loosen up with use. They are easily adjusted for interpupillary distance, which I have previously found more diffucult on some compact binoculars with small eye pieces and a double hinge arrangement. The image is also quite bright and true in colour. Being compact and waterproof they are also far more likely to be at hand when desired! The only negative is that the eye caps are two separate caps with no attachment mechanism -I will probably glue a thread to them and tie it to the lanyard so that they don't getdropped somewhere...

We ordered these binoculars for an upcoming safari. Never having bought binoculars before I was impressed at the price (and also the speed of delivery).I tried them out at home and was impressed how clear they are - helped no end by the ease of adjusting them. They are amazingly compact and lightweight and come with a protective carry case. They also have a good field of vision, important for viewing wildlife. We were so impressed that we ordered another pair straight away so that my wife and I would each have our own set for watching the birds and beasts of Africa. Again they arrived quickly and with no problems.Would recommend to anyone for any application where lightweight binoculars areneeded.

I bought these for the size, being waterproof and because of the brand, I was not disappointed. These binos are really compact, so much smaller than you expect. They are good in most daylight conditions so no worry about thinking that you'll be better buying the big 8x50s .Both of the lenses fold out from the bridge giving ample adjustment for those with wider spread pupils. The diopter adjustment works well , while the focus is very fine so takes a little time to get used to getting the best from them. After a gloomy Sunday walk in a nature reserve my daughter loved them and they got taxed ! Looks like I'll need to buy myself another set.Highly recommended

Bought these as a present and mum says they're brilliant.I tested them when they arrived and was pleasantly surprised by the clarity and magnification.Very clear high magnification and mum doesn't even have to take her glasses off to use them. They are tiny and fold up even smaller with a funky metallic finish and carry case, and also have the focus rings at the front for those of you who prefer to take glasses off when using them! The folding also comes in handy to line the viewers up with eye width. All in all one very happy mother and a great product to boot at £35. Bravo Olympus...

I bought these binoculars specifically for a trip to Borneo and Malaysia for the time that we were spending in the jungle. I've never owned a pair before and all I knew was that I wanted something compact, light, splash / moisture resistant (for the humidity), and reasonably around £50. I took some advice from an avid birdwatcher and the amazon reviews and these were the ones that ticked the boxes. These pair were ideal for me and my trip and have used them since for trips to the local wetlands. They give a really sharp image. I keep them in my glovebox as they are really handy.

These are great little binoculars - light weight and dinky sized, just right for your handbag or pocket. I bought these for mainly watching the bird feeder in my garden and also for the theatre. I have a squint (meaning my right pupil is higher than my left) and, being able to adjust the binoculars in the middle, I can get a single view as opposed to most other bigger binoculars where I have to try to cope with two separate circular images. I can't fault these.

I wanted to be able to watch ballet in close-up, and chose these binoculars after being dissatisfied with the relatively small field of vision and difficulty of use of some x3 opera glasses I had bought previously. In contrast, these Olympus binoculars gave much better magnification over an equivalent field of view and are much easier to look through, as well as being remarkably compact when folded. Really great to have.

Looking at buying a pair of these and got confused with two sets of prices and slightly different designs. You are looking at two different products the RC11 and the RC11 WP - the WP stands for Waterproof - nitrogen filled bodies and sealed optics. So be careful which you buy and interesting whether they review the same - presumably the optics are common. The WP is - as you would expect - the more expensive product.

These are a xmas present so haven't been used yet and I cannot therefore comment on how they work ( although a cursory inspection suggests they do what they should). I was however delighted by the size, design & their lightness as the recipient is goign on a safari trip where very limited amount of luggage is permissible so this was a major consideration. The pearl white finish makes them charmingly feminine too

Bought these as a second pair to keep in the car for bird-watching etc and, for the price, I don't think you could do any better. They are small, light and compact. The focusing and dioptre rings are easy to use and the lenses give a clear image. Only has a single point to attach the strap to but that's OK for me. I would recommended as a very good quality second pair.Delivery was also very quick.

I bought these binoculars for my wife's birthday to watch the birds from our conservatory plus use when we go walking. My wife loves the compact size that easily fits into her coat pocket when walking plus the clarity of the binoculars is excellent and finally she loves the unusual colour which makes them a little special and ideal for that special present.

After moving to the countryside (over 1/2 mile to the next house) my good lady took to feeding the birds, after about 2 hours we had flocks of them, so a pair of Bino's was needed, I surprised her with these and she loves them, they are clear, light and of course purple !!!! Would recommend them for general use in the garden and whilst out walking.
