This torch is undoubtedly unrivalled in terms of brightness, fucionality, size, weight and quality. I have had many keyring torches for other popular brands and can say from experience this is my overall favourite. Despite this there are a couple of points that may let this torch down in the future. For the price of the unit, mid range budget it is unrivalled in terms of brightness. The functional rubber buttons allow you to simply cycle through brightness levels or choose a low setting or boost setting immediately. However the lowest brightness is still fairly bright. It would be more useful if the lowest brightness setting was more like a single candle setting such as to tactically illuminatea map in the field or find your way to the bed without waking your partner by lighting up the room too much. You may as well use your phone backlight for this task.On the flip side this torches power is immense considering it’s size. You could get away with this being your sole torch. The light is a good colour and is dispersed evenly. This torch is perfect for a confident everyday carry kit item that you can rely upon.I like the way the buttons are programmed to avoid unnecessary cycling between brightness levels. However, it would be perfect if it was programmed with a tactical strobe option and or SOS feature. I feel this would be a viable addition and a slight oversight in lacking to program it this way. I like the clip or keyring option. As with most black keyring torches the paintwork starts to fade and chip quickly which is a shame as it spoils the original aesthetically pleasing appearance. However if this torch was stored in a backpack pocket using its clip I doubt it would do this.I am a bit concerned about the exposed usb charging point. This is covered by the clip which just slides down in order to access. I think it could have benefited from a rubber plunger to prevent dust or moisture getting into the unit. This suggests the unit may have a limited lifespan. Especially if the clip is lost or you prefer it with the clip removed. The point of keyring attachment is doubly reinforced and inspire confidence in its build quality. I’ve owned keyring torches where the attachment point is a small thin loop of metal with cannot stand the pressure of everyday carry on a keyring in a pocket.I like the fact that it is rechargeable by USB. It should be able to be charged by a power bank too if required. In addition the LED battery life indication is a great feature that enables the user to never be caught out by a low battery. The unit is screwed together by accessible screws which I hope means that when the rechargeable battery reaches its lifespan it can be replaced easily rather than replacing the whole torch.I like this torch and certainly would recommend it to any discerning EDC kit carrier.

Finally Nitecore have got the user interface right. The Tip comes set to ‘everyday’ mode where the torch turns off after 30 seconds regardless of power level, but holding down both buttons until the main beam flashes puts the torch into ‘constant’ mode and from that point on this torch/flashlight is superb. It remembers the last brightness level when you press the power button and then each press of the mode button will cycle through the low/medium/high brightness, from high, a constant press of the mode button will increase the brightness to the 360 lumen max for as long as the mode button remains pressed. But the best feature is that from off, holding the power button for two seconds will always put you into the low (moonlight)mode (which is perfect for finding your front door keyhole) and holding the mode button for two seconds will take you straight to the max 360 lumen brightness for 15 minutes and that kind of power can turn a pitch black alleyway into a very well lit area. The final welcome feature is that the buttons will flash red when the battery is getting low and green when the torch is recharged. There is only one gripe I have about the Tip and it is the fact that there is no rubber dust cover on the charge port like there was on the Tube. Nitecore provide a clip that doubles as a cover for the USB port and also a button guard but the clip is useless, it does not have any kind of latch and relies totally on friction to stay in place but I certainly would not trust it to hold the Tip on a shirt pocket or belt. Luckily there is a very strong key ring bar at the back of the Tip so there is a way of securing it properly.

You can laugh at most other torches if you own one of these. 350 max lumens and output made to resemble daylight. Shape means you can hold it in your teeth easily when using your hands and usb charges in no time. I've had one for years and panic when i can't find it. One slight improvement would be to make it more waterproof. Just a bit of rubber on the charge port would be good. As it happens I've got water or dirt in here a couple of times and it stops the torch from turning off...however if you take it apart (quite easy in fact) and get a tooth brush on the legs of the electronic chip it works again. Last time i put a blob of kitchen sealant on the legs that I've just cleaned and have had no problem for years now.I've got the names of my kids engraved on theirs. PS remember both buttons down causes either 1 flash meaning auto turn off after 30s or 2 flash stay on mode...and this can get hot in your pocket if it stays on high beam for a while.

Just love it. It works perfectly, brightness is amazing and the functionality is amazing for its size. it comes with a utility clip as well, which while it works OK as a clip is mainly useful for protecting the buttons in a pocket. A very cool, high spec handy gadget every man should have. It oozes quality with it's stainless steel case, and feels solid.

This key light chain is the best EDC torch I have owned. I use it every day it is extremely useful although I have a camera light on my phone it is so much better and convenient and puts out different modes of light. Highly recommend this product. Charge via mini USB fits perfectly on keys.

Tough little torch, bright (and adjustable levels of brightness). Battery lasts well, rechargable via usb port. Expensive perhaps, and no lockout other than the clip. I have carried it with me constantly since purchase, and am very happy with it.

I love this thing, i use it at work constantly and everyone wants one. Have had several decent lights, but the size and rechargeability make this the best. Its also built very well!

Very bright. Solidly made. Simple to use. The clip works well to stop accidentally pressing the buttons while pocketed.

Good light, but larger than I expected because I didn't pay enough attention to the product details.

Nice light. Giving it 4 stars because I received the older model without the clip.
