After some very lengthy researching reviews I came to realise this seems to be the best tent for my 4000 mile bikepacking tour in April. I’ve just received the tent today so only had chance to put it up at home and it’s brilliant, so quick and simple to put up in under 5 minutes! Just as quick to take down and packed back into its sack really well too. I zipped myself inside the tent and it felt really warm and cosy and phenomenal space inside for a one man tent!!! I’m 5’10 and still had a couple inches room at my head and feet and plenty of space both sides, I can sit right up inside too! I know this will hold up on the weather too because I watched a reviewer on YouTube in 80mph winds on Dartmoor using the Elixr 1.Credit to MSR, for the price you won’t get a better one man lightweight tent. Happy with the delivery too, arrived on a couple days.

A spacious 1-person tent with space for large hiking backpack in absiden, very pleased. Several storage pockets in the inner tent (one at each end and two at the ceiling, mesh mesh at the top and at the foot and main part and the upper part of the door. The only downside is that the associated footprints are not really fit in the mat, are too big that when the inner tent is mounted, the floor will be flat (not tightened) and also that the outer tent does not have the quick buckle but is hooked on the lower parts of the tent rods via the oblong aluminum trays with holes (which may be a little blemish) as well as on my inner tent and tent floor. During my walk there was a thunder and drizzle night long,I remained dry and even my big backpack that lay in the abside.

This is a nice tent, like real nice. The zippers are smooth the material seems very durable, the seams look great. The only thing I do not like about this tent is the room inside. It's a 2 person, very clearly, only for two people, 3 people will fit, but man would I be claustrophobic. The tent inside, like most backpacking tents, has very little head room. Sitting up is doable but the roof of the tent is literally less than an inch away from the top of my head(I'm 6 foot tall). The vestibule, inside space is large enough for one pack without blocking the door. If your sleeping three this would be annoying. Let me say though, that this tent seems bullet proof, very well constructed, light, and easy to setup all by yourself.

Loved the waterproofing quality of the the rain fly. Don’t like the amount of air vents as this causes chilly mornings and evenings. However, I am 6.6 and I fit perfectly in this two man tent. I use it on the Pacific Crest Trail and can highly recommend for it’s perfection against the elements and easy setup as it is freestanding once you place the poles in. Just be careful with the tension on the poles as takes some wizardry to twist and turn to get the poles in there holesJust make sure you have a really warm / good sleeping bag.

We love this tent! Enough so that when the rain fly on our first one shredded after being left for a coupe weeks in direct sun and rain, we bought another MSR elixir 3 tent to replace it. We have camped in it through a tropical storm and an all day steady rain and it kept us dry and cozy. It is well vented for hot weather and had just a little condensation in 50F temperatures. Just don’t leave it out in the sun for days!I wouldn’t recommend it for three people. It is a little tight for two with a double air mattress and other gear.

Good headroom and surprisingly roomy for a one person tent. Most people will be able to sit up in this tent.Decent sized porch area and plenty of room to access the tent.Storage nets and hanging loops are a useful feature.Negative points are that only 10 pegs are supplied, yet there are 11 peg stake out points. The fly sheet could do with being 6 inches longer all around as in driving rain the rain will hit the inner.

Excellent headroom and set up is fairly straightforward. I am 6 ft tall 195lbs and there is enough floor space for me but this would be a tight fit with another adult. Too heavy for an extended backpacking trip but would be fine split between two. I suppose this tent falls in between a light car camping tent or a heavy backpacking tent. Great tent for the price but doesn't quite hit the sweet spot for me.

I returned this tent not because it was nad tent, its actually amazing tent. However, for me it did not compact small enough to what i wanted, as I wanted it to be used for hiking and i found a tent which is a lot more compact than the MSR elixir 1

Super easy to look up, does not fill much, weighs 2 kg and must be said to be a good one for the price, the only negative was that the sides of the inner tent could not be opened beyond the entrance.

Just gave this tent a trial run on a backpacking trip. It's well-made, easy to assemble, lightweight, and roomy. It seems like this tent will do well in cooler weather, a real 3-season tent.

Amazing solo tent. Used for cycle touring trip over multi days. Lightweight (not much different from the Hubba), comes with footprint. Great space (I’m 6ft 2in). Big porch. Great value.

It is a nice, lightweight tent for a hiking trip. The tent is very easy to deploy it in 10 min but for the first time you see the tent, it will take about 20-25 min. to deploy it :)

So far I give this tent a great review...it repelled the rain with no leaks and is easy to set up. My only suggestion is that it needs more ventilation for hot nights.

If you are looking for light weight I would recommend the Hubba but overall for my 2 to 3 day trips this tent has been great!

Enough head room to sit up without hitting the top. Small and light enough to pack in. Held up nicely in the high winds.
