I have purchased a few foot pumps over the last couple of years and have been disappointed with their build quality and longevity. The last one I purchased, about 2 months ago has already begun to fall apart. So I decide to do a little research and found that the Michelin Double Barrel Foot Pump comes highly recommended. Based on this I decided to purchase one. My faith in Michelin tyres added weight to my decision. The unit arrived within 3 days and was well packaged. The unit is very well constructed with some very nice touches. The foot level part is locked in the storage position with two twist buttons. By rotating these a quarter turn, the lever is released, ready for use.The hose is neatly clipped to the chassis when not in use. These features help keep the unit tidy and easy for storage in the back of my car. The unit performs excellently and feels robust and solidly built. I have only used this a few times now, but I have great confidence that it will last much longer than my previous acquisitions. I am very happy with this buy. Very good value for my money.

Have had one of these pumps before but had lever type attachment rather than the screw type on this pump that attaches to tyre valve.Pump works pretty well but on first use rubber foot on clamp broke and came off. Time will tell re longevity of pump as previous one lasted several years before one of the cylinder seals gave out and air leaked out. The cylinders are sealed so unable to remove to check seals so pump then good as useless. I have looked at several pumps and would pay over double for a really well made one but they do not seem to exist. For what is available I would buy this product again but would have liked something that was built to last a bit longer.Having said that the pump works well when used for pumping to around 50psi but over that pump takes quite a lot of effort.Read full review...

The rave reviews from Which and motoring magazines persuaded me to pay the extra for the Michelin foot pump.It pays to shop around, to avoid retail stores where the pump was on sale at £35, I discovered that Amazon offered the best deal on the day. This is a well designed double barrel pump which even makes light work of topping up those low profile, go faster, Higher pressure tyres. The hose and connection are sturdy & work well, though you need a strong grip to compress the spring to close for storage.Be aware that a double barrel & strong return spring makes for quite vigorous exercise, will keep those leg muscles in trim.P

The Michelin double barrel pump is great. Robust, ergonomic and fast inflation. Build quality far exceeds the usual spindly metal-framed affairs. The hose clips neatly away. The gauge readings match those of my professional-quality British Standard approved separate gauge. Most foot pumps have a gauge that is nothing more than an approximation.I am confused by the review that says "I've looked around and found the Draper and Clark versions are identical." Neither of those suppliers have a product that looks at all like the Michelin. I wonder if that review is against the wrong product?

Only purchase the double barrelled version of this pump if you are strong. It takes a large amount of effort to operate. My wife and granddaughters are unable to use it. They can easily operate the single barrel version. The tyre connector on mine is also very difficult to remove from the tyre valve, I have had to replace it with one from an old pump. I will be contacting Michelin about it. The connector on my single barrel Michelin pump is also very hard to remove from the tyre valve. This spoils what is otherwise a very well made pump.

I intentionally waited several months before reviewing this, as I've had similar designs fall to pieces. With regular use, this unit is still in excellent working order and is handy for cars, bikes, motorcycles, balls and more. Keep your car tyres inflated and they'll last longer, cost you less in petrol and your drive will be quieter too. Avoid the ridiculous (albeit small) fees that British garages charge you with one of these at home.

after reading all the negative reviews, i wondered why i had purchased this prouduct. on inspection of the pump it looks well built. the little plastic clips that keep the pump closed broke away from there retaining plastic retainers, on first use. time will tell if the pump performs the way it should. this is the first double barrel pump i have used and as other people commented it takes more effort to pump than usual.

For some wheel/valve combinations the more traditional (in this country) right angle pump connector is not suitable, plus you can be sure of getting a better seal with the straight screw on type. These are not the greatest quality pumps you can get but at the price and for the purpose (and for the difficult to get at valves) they are practically perfect.

I would have given it 5 stars but for the screw on connector as opposed to the lever connection (I should have paid attention when ordering so my fault). But a nice sturdy product and an excellent gauge which when checked against a calibrated one, is accurate. This is rarely the case in my experience. Overall, very nice and a good price.

Great to a quality foot pump again as opposed to the cheap tat produced by Draper. I had one of these before and it lasted years. Still just as sturdy as it used to be. Small design change to a screw on valve, as oposed to the lever style. Seems fit for purpose. Spend more and get something that you can rely on when you need it.

I already have a single barrel version I use on my motorcycle in Spain. I do have a cheaper, older, dual barrel pump which has lost some pressure, though it never was as powerful as the Michelin one. This one is good for my bikes and topping up the car tyres, which took ages and lots of sweat with the old one.Top kit!

Easy to use, important when you are in your late seventies!. Bags of air volume makes pumping very quick. Particularly like the connector, being a screw-on it doesn't pop off as other connectors are want to do and makes a good air tight seal every time. Haven't had it very long but no complaints so far.

Well made, well thought out, the design of the pump is really solid, the rubber feet are a good touchThe best thing is the connection to the tyre valve, it's a thread that screws onto to the valve, only making contact with the pressure release at the last turn ... no more trying to fold over a lever

The pump is well made, easy to use and accurate. Unfortunately the valve fitting is screw on which does not fit the removable valves on my Jaguar. I bought a push on valve and changed the fitting. It now works perfectly. Just check before purchase that your wheels have screw on valve stems.

I recently purchased a Michelin double barrel foot pump and found it very efficient, I particularly liked the screw on valve adapter which I find more efficient than the clip on type, the two barrels give plenty of volume so it does not take too many pumps to add a few psi. Very impressed!
