17 month old grandson loves this. He has been playing with it for a few months and now knows which magnet goes behind which door. He did chew the magnetic pieces to begin with as all babies do but has stopped that now he is bit older. I think he will have plenty more months of fun with it.UPDATE April 2019 - now my granddaughter has inherited the hide and seek from her big brother who is now nearly 5. She loves it as much as he did but unfortunately the car is lost! However we have replaced that with a fridge magnet that doesn’t even have a car on it but fits in the space! We make up loads of different games to play but her favourite is to take out all the magnets, hold them in her hands then I have to ask for them by name. We also play guess the magnet from the back view. I also draw round the magnets on paper and she has to place the magnets on the correct outline. I am sure the missing cow will be found one day!

love it. got this for my granddaughter's first birthday. was the hit of the party! 5 little 1 yr olds were pushing each other aside to get to it, ignoring all the other gifts. the educational side of it grows along with child. at first, just opening and closing the little doors is fun. then taking out the little magnets and tasting them - well, the latter's not supposed to happen, but my g-daughter can't help herself. then, recognizing how the items actually have a special door, ie the puppy goes in the dog house, car in the garage, etc. 1 problem: the hinge is delicate. during the party, as 2-3 babies were grabbing at it, and crawling over it to claim propriety, one of the hinges got slightly bent.it still works fine, just doesn't close completely flat. highly recommend.

My daughter is still teething quite bad and I think I bought it too early for her (16 months) but she loves these sort of toys. The board itself is solid, wooden, great quality, doors / hinges are great. The magnet idea is fab as it saves them dropping all over while being dragged across the room... However I deducted a star on the rating because the little pieces are not as substantial as the board. They are basically stickers on magnets. She's chewed through half of them and ruined them :( the board is still used as she likes to open / close the doors, but I've had to take the pieces off her. This toys would be better for when she's stopped chewing her toys (but whether she'd still be into this kind of toys by then,I don't know?...)

I'm a HUGE fan of M&D products. Bought it for my daughter who was 17 months and she loves it. She loves opening and closing the doors. And so many fun variations- I ask her 'please coulld you give mummy the cow?' and she opens the correct door.- I hide the magnets in the wrong places and she will put them in the correct place.- I ask her 'who says bow-wow' and she'll open the door and give me the dog- I keep all the magnets in a pile and she puts them in the correct slotIt keeps her engrossed for a long time and she's happy playing independently so I get to drink a cup of coffee while it's still hot for a change!Happy toddler = happy mummy (and daddy!)The only downside is she has chewed a bitof the paper off the edges.

This was bought for my 15 month old daughter as a present. She loved it from day one and has played with it every day since. It is by far her most favouite thing to play with even 5 weeks later. Nursery also has the hinges one which i know she likes playing with too. Am about to buy one as a present and would highly recommend. Only slight criticism is that she tends to put pieces in her mouth and the edges of a couple of the pictures are slightly damaged now (think chewed/slobbered on board book) it is only slight but if she continues to play with as much as she does at the moment it may in time look tatty. However would not stop me recommending it and if she loves it then actually what does it matter?!

I bought this toy before going on a 13-hour journey. It had to be something to keep my 2-year old quiet and interested for long enough, and something I could play with her too. She loved flipping the little doors and I enjoyed hiding the wrong items behind the wrong doors but she had no problem restoring the items in their correct places. Then I could test her memory and knowledge by asking her where I'd hidden the picnic or what's behind the treasure chest? The toy is very durable and of very high quality, these doors can be flipped for hours on end, and thanks to the magnetic puzzle pieces, they can't get lost.A toy of great entertainment value for the child alone or children and parents alike.

My grandson is only 19 months old and loves playing with the puzzle. Not all the doors open the same way some open to the left and others to the right which means he has to think which way do the doors open. We take all the pieces out and then ask him to find the correct piece for a particular place on the puzzle i.e. where does the doggy live? I know these are meant for age 3+ but he has both this puzzle and the barn hide and seek and loves them both. I would recommend these to anyone who has a little one. I would recommend supervision if they are under the age of 3 as the pieces are on the smallish size not small enough to swallow but with toddlers everything goes in to their mouths!!!

Sorry this is not much of a review, I bought this for my 19month old son and although he is a bit young, he gets enjoyment from putting the pieces into his trucks and other vehicles. He is also more interested in chewing the pictures, sticking them to our fridge or posting them through our letterbox onto the street.I like the product though, its colourful, chunky for little hands and looks interesting. Great for verbal interaction 'what noise does this make/where does this go..' etc. Maybe as he gets older he'll use it 'properly' but its nice to see him have fun with it in his own way.

I thought my 1 year old would be to young for this product but it proved otherwise. At the beginning he liked to open and close the doors, then he found out he can take out all the magnets and shut the doors. Now he is 1.5 year old and if I take all the magnets out he is able to place them back in in proper places. We also play a memory game. I ask him to give me one of the pieces e.g. a dog or a parrot and he guesses where it is hidden. I really like the hide and seek board and would recommend it. It is still looking good after several months, nothing broken.

Bought this for my daughter when she was around 18 months and she loved it from say 1. I have therefore just bought it as an Xmas present for an 18 month old!At this age they become fascinated with opening and closing things, so even if they do not get the concept at first, the opening, the taking out and replacing is enough to keep then we'll entertained for ages. Then as they get older and learn about each section, they learn where each but goes and why! Kids love this!Super well made and durable. Another winner from Mellosa and doug!

My son instantly loved this when he got it around his first birthday and is still playing with it daily 7 months later. Part of the attraction I think is that the doors make a good clattering noise when they open and close. One thing worth noting if buying for a younger child is that they will chew the magnets and because they are made of stiff board with paper glued on top they quickly get all ragged at the edges. Also one review on here says the doors open in different directions: on ours they all open the same way.

I bought the farm version for my 7 month old daughter for Christmas because she’s started to like fiddling and in particular, opening little doors.Pre baby it’s not something I’d have thought of buying, but it’s absolutely brilliant. Nice and fiddly for her, really great for fine motor skills. I like that the animals are magnetic and that it’s durable so we can continue to use it as we learn about animals and the sounds they make. And lovely to have some more ‘non plastic’ toys!!!

My kids find this really funny and love seeing where I or each other have hidden the different magnets (eg why is there a car in my oven?!) They will both (at 2 and 4 years old) spend a while sorting and then asking for them to be mixed up again. A couple of the magnets are a bit fiddly to put in the space but at least being magnetic we don’t end up with pieces all over the place when it is chucked in a drawer for a while. I’ve bought as 2nd birthday presents a couple of times too!

I really like this thing, the doors are easy to open and it is a good quality product. The only problems I see are that some of the magnets are a little bigger than others and sometimes it can be challenging for my 20 month old to fit them into the compartment before he mashes the door down on it. The other thing is that as with any puzzle the loose pieces end up everywhere around the house. However, they can easily stick to the fridge for easy storage and access.

My 2 grandaughters aged 18 and 17 months love this puzzle. There are 9 different magnets hidden behind each door ranging from a car, dog to roast chicken. At first they just enjoyed opening and shutting the doors to now remembering and naming whats behind each door. This puzzle is well made, educational, encourages communication and extremely fun. This toy has been a favourite since Christmas and I cannot see itbeing discarded for a while yet
