The Good:- It's small and lightweight making it an ideal way to bring a 4-5 clubs to the range- The stand. It's one of the only pencil bags to include a stand which I find much better than resting the bag on the floor or propped against a wall- The cover. A debated subject amongst other reviewers. I like it as it makes it easier to carry your clubs on, say a busy train, and keeps them covered when it rains (which has happened a lot this summer). The cover isn't detachable and kind of flops over when opened, but it is large enough to fit over my driver- Build quality is decent for the price. Some of the stitching is off, but in terms of longevity, I have no doubts that this bag will hold together quite well. The materials, zippers and stand seem quite robust. The body is solid so it doesn't fold - but I like this as it provides better protection for my clubsThe Bad:- There are lots of areas in the design of the bag where Longridge could make improvements. The pockets are not really large enough to carry anything more than balls, a wallet, and a golf glove. There is a particularly useless pocket near the bottom which zips down - meaning that anything you put in there will fall out if you're not careful- The straps are not exactly the most comfortable and don't have any padding to speak of. They are strong enough to hold the bag even though they feel a bit cheap- There is no holder for a golf umbrella. A couple of fasteners would have been really handy- A detachable head cover - I don't mind it as much as some others but it would be nice to remove when not needed- Maybe a bit of a stretch for a bag this size, but I would have liked to see a pocket for my golf shoes. I have to carry them separately which is a bit of a painThe Ugly:I'm reasonably happy with the purchase and feel it was good value for the money. It serves the purpose of holding my clubs when I go the range and don't want to take a heavy bag with my entire set. The cover and stand are nice features not found on more expensive, "big brand" bags. I feel though that Longridge got 80% of the way there with this bag, making it good but not great. A little more customer research and they could have really made a top-notch bag. In spite of this, I'd still recommend this for anyone looking for a decent range bag for a good price

I feel incredibly stupid and embarrassed relating what happened with this purchase because it does reflect badly on ME Im affraid. My wife has recently taken up golf and I wanted to encourage her. When I noticed that her clothes were getting muddy putting her bag on the wet ground and then wiping it down her back when she picked it up again, I thought that this handy bag with stand would be ideal, giving me loads of brownie points... so I ordered it for her birthday. On delivery I was anxious that she wouldn't see it and briskly breezed into the garage and out of her sight until her birthday 31st Jan (which funnily enough was the deadline for returns date). So the big day came and I handed my wife her birthday gift, only for her to unwrap it and discover that it was in fact A GARDEN SPADE.Now I realise that I should have known the difference between a golf bag and a spade but, honestly, they were roughly the same height and remarkably similar in shape and size when wrapped up.Needless to say that the spade doesn't function well as a golf bag, and we already have three spades, but I didn't have the heart to write a BAD review - after all someone probably just made a silly mistake at the warehouse, as I also did to my eternal embarrassment. If youre reading this, hopefully it will bring a smile to your face and encourage you to buy the bag, but my advice is to check it when it arrives. As for me, well unsurprisingly my wife didn't like her birthday present, believing it was a massive hint for her to dig the garden, and she probably won't carry on with golf, especially as her clothes are still being ruined carrying her old and muddy golf bag around.

I'd probable give it 4.5 stars over all, for the price it's very good value but 2 slight design issues drop it down slightly. Firstly operating the pop out leg stand takes a bit more pressure than normal (probable because of it's lighter weight) but the legs always seem to catch on the ground as if they are slightly too long and I have to rock the bag back and forth a bit to get them out and fully supportive. Also the bottom pocket which unzips from the bottom with a single zip (instead of two which you could keep at the top) means that anything you keep in they will fall out as you open it without leaning it over. However it is very lightweight, comfortable and secure straps, generous other pockets (so bottom one is rarely needed) and comfortable fits 5 clubs so great for driving range or par 3 courses. I don't regret buying to for a minute and do recommend it bearing in mind it is a budget bit of kit.

I usually use a larger bag on a trolley which I tow behind my bike to the course (this avoids the council car parking charges). During the winter we are required to fit hedgehogs on the wheels but these don't travel too well on the road and are too much of a fiddle to fit and remove each journey. This 5" bag means I can carry 4/5 clubs and am still able to get to the course on my bike. The bag is well made, has a stand, small pockets, rucksack type straps and the top zips up securely to keep the clubs in. As mentioned by a previous reviewer the top is non detachable (not sure where I would put it if it was) and is a bit of a nuisance when getting clubs in and out.Having said that it is well made and light to carry and would probably buy again. For those who want a bit more space I would suggest looking at a 6" bag.

I wanted a good small carry bag with stand for playing a few holes as my course has had a trolley ban during all this wet weather, so I read most of the reviews before buying this product and I haven't been disappointed it's exactly what I was looking for, it looks good, is extremely light, can carry 9 clubs including a driver, 5 wood, rescue wood, 5,7,9 irons w, s/w, & putter. The hood is detachable and plenty of pockets for tee's, balls, gloves etc. A review mentioned a pocket opened from the bottom hence anything inside fell out, well you don't need to open the zip all the way round, there is still enough room to get things in and out. This is a very good product for the money.

I read all the reviews on this small carry bag before making the purchase. I do agree with some of the comments, like the zip on the bottom pocket being upside down allowing the contents to fall onto the ground when the bag is on its stand, but the hood not being removable is totally wrong, the hood on the bag I received comes off by unclipping four studs, the hood is made of a stiff material which does not allow it to be folded back without the retaining studs pulling apart and detaching the hood from the bag. all in all this is a nice small carry bag for a few clubs during a casual round, or to hold them during a practice session.

I bought this bag a month or so ago and have carried it for about half a dozen rounds on a par 3 course in Portugal. The Pros: Lightweight. Well balanced with clubs in it so that it is easy to carry. Holds 8 clubs easily, maybe more. Has a stand, so no bending down to pick up the bag. Looks goodThe Cons: Two pockets, but not much space for more than a few balls, tees and a glove. The stand is smaller than what one has on a regular bag so extension is not as great and the bag needs to be on a flat surface or it will fall over. Even given those problems it is the best ultralight carry bag I have seen

Searched long and hard for a resonably priced pencil bag with ... and here is the important bit ... a stand. Most pencil bags get discarded on the ground and on a damp day, even a dewy morning, this pretty quickly means things getting wet. This bag with stand does the job superbly. It is robust enough to take a half set of clubs and has already had several months active service as well as getting pushed around the boot of my car and it is standing up to the treatment well. Shower proof too ... luckily enough given our splendid summer! Recommended.

I have used this bag every round this winter since I received it.It holds 7 clubs easily, is extremely light and the double strap makes it all the easier to carry.Takes a bit of trial and error to get the double strap balanced out but worth the trouble.3 Pockets just enough for a few balls and a couple of chocy bars. The stand is handy for club selection but doesn't cope well with windy conditions. For the price, definately worth it.I have already recommended the bag to fellow golfers

I have used this bag for 2-3 courses and found it very compact in the field. No need for trolley. It can contain about 7-8 clubs (Putter, LW, SW, 4 irons, #3 hyb and driver). When I got into the courses, some people asked about it (nice and smart bag). In my opinion, however, the quality is not that great (3.5 from 5 points) but it was reasonable for the price. During the course, the balance of the bag on its stand is not too good (sometimes fall down when the wind was strong).

it is good for a few clubs, either as a 9 hole bag or if you need to travel light. Quality of manufacture is ok, I have used it a couple of times and so far it is standing up to the use.The pockets could have been a little bigger and the bottom one is as noted on other reviews not a lot of use as the zip is upside down when the bag is on the stand. If you are going to buy it for the price it is fine, not outstanding however.

I bought this bag as an alternative to the big one that I have. I use it when going for golf practice and carry arround 7 clubs (it can teasily take up to 8). It has two pockets, it is very light and easy to carry. Moreover, it does not take much place in the car trunk. For a quick round I take 4 irons, 1 putter, a driver and a hybrid and they all fit well in the bag. I believe that for 6 to 8 (max) clubs this bag is ideal.

Light weight and doesn't take up much space in the car. Only thing is there is no padding on the side causing part of my trousers to end up with a rubbed mark. I cut off the back padding from an old back pack of mine and stuck it to the side with super glue to solve this problem. It can take up to seven/eight clubs. Its low weight means more energy left for golf swings and for walking the course.Cheap price as well.

This is a great pencil bag for the cost. It holds around 6 or 7 clubs easy and with the stand its ideal for taking out on the course for a few practise holes! It's very light and has a detachable head cover so can be used whatever the weather. I normally use a tour bag plus electric trolley but feel this is beneficial when you just want to pop up to the course for a bounce game. So glad I purchased this.

Solid construction with dual straps and a stand, something that similar bigger name "pencil bags" do not have, meaning that the bag will stay clean and looking good even in the worst conditions.Easily takes a half set with plenty of pockets. If I was trying to be picky I would have liked to have a lumber pad to cushion the back when carrying and a tee holder. On the whole an excellent product.
