I've often been told that adding to, or upgrading, my computer's RAM would be the most straightforward way to improve my machines performance.I look at my PC as a work essential, but I'm rarely tempted to open it up; never mind consider changing over any components. My desktop is an off the shelf HP, with the boxes ticked for a few upgrades from the factory. Nothing much has been touched since the day it was un-boxed.Having checked that my desktop would accept DDR3 memory, it really couldn't be simpler.I just powered down the machine, un-did the one screw on the side panel (most cases would appear easy to get into now, to make life easier for us), removed the side-panel and located the vacant slots on the mother-board.Now,even if you don't know what a mother-board is, don't be put off. This is going to be the biggest board inside the machine (normally) onto which all the smaller boards connect (you can even find a 'how to' video, if you're struggling). My machine has four RAM slots in total (nicely marked) and had two vacant slots, right next to the existing RAM.A quick check to make sure the RAM was the right way around (note the slot in the RAM to make it easy), slot them in with a little push and that was all that was needed to do the job.Cover back, power on and I was away. Job done. It really is that simple. The packaging was easy to get into, with a basic plastic blister pack. Not scissors required.I have no idea what the significance of the colour (in this case, a rather nice red). I'm sure you could co-ordinate or at least make them easy to spot from the other components. In terms of performance, I've tried a couple of things. The first is the most obvious, with the additional RAM in place (taking my machine to a total of 16GB).There is a noticeable difference with my Windows 7 (SP1) running. It seems to be both quicker and smoother in opening applications and in multi-tasking. I often flip from one piece of software to another, while I'm working on something.I can't say by how much the difference is, but it's certainly noticeable, so my machine is not having to work as hard to deal with the things that I'm throwing at it. For the cost of the RAM, that's got to be a good thing. I look at as giving my machine a bit of a 'spring clean' or 'tune up' with these new parts.I did try some bench-marking software from a PC magazine (a freebie from the cover) and ran two tests, back to back. The first with the original (HP branded) 8GB, then with the new 'Fury' 8GB of RAM.I have to admit that I have no idea how the 'automatic over-clocking' works, but the memory is performing far quicker than the original kit.Since I have the space, I'll leave all the RAM in place, giving me the maximum benefit (at the moment) of the 16GB in total.Having read a few notes on a Windows 7, this should make a noticeable difference. Even if not a 'power user', but in the day to day use of any piece of software.I've used Kingston before, most recently for USB stick drives, and the like. The quality seems to be right up there and I'm happy with all the items (thus far) that I've had from them. I've never had any problems, so would trust the products.Fingers-crossed, I've never had to use their support services, and everything is working away. I'd happily recommend this to my friends and family.

pretty decent ram at a good price this .in my repairs or builds i do for friends and relatives .i see price is the issue . now this ram does the job then some .so if your a gamer no worries it will do just fine as your pc aint top of the line if you are buying this ram anywayso to the results .. open performance good applications good .rating 4 out of 5 or 8 out of ten for this type of ram only specifies certain types of motherboard and their capabilities anyway so dont worry .gaming 1600 is the sweet spot thats a fact so get used to it i ve done the days and days of research to prove it .this ram transfers files slightly quicker over the 1600 mhz so that is a bonus but cas latency is cancelledout at some point .but the differences are not worth bothering about so either 1600 1866mhz for your budget gaming rig . or if your transfering files ,lots of files go up to 2400 if your motherboard supports it so check before you buy . what ?check your motherboard manual and the DIMM SLOTS mhz your board supports ok ...other than that make sure it is compatible by the pin count being 240 gold pins ( yes i counted them all)do not have a manual google it mate .do not be lazy, but be sure matesopen the side panel and look for details written on the board then google it .but it should be in the manual provided with your computer motherboard.it's in the flat box mate .anyway do the work enjoy the ram and live stress free people .hope ive helped you guys somewhat .i've seen kids build pc's ! so get on it mates .its going cheap its all i use in the last 20 AMD pc builds what more do you need ?oh yes it does the other boards too you just need to get up and check it out .pin numbers 240 (that's the gold looking tabs on the edge )mhz 1866 but dont worry if your boards lower it will sale down to the lowest installed ram you have like say 1333mhz .so the pc runs smoothly . simple it does it itself with any modern motherboard .not sure how to bump it up again ? watch a video on bios .compatability ? check your motherboard maker brand i.e. asus ,gigabyte ,asrock etc etc . then the model .go on the internet and see if it is compatible and if it is buy it mates its going cheap right now so buy a few if you want , no one cares but you anyway .so g,day and g, luck ya drongos . just kidding. ye gaming mongrels .

RAM (Random Access Memory)RAM we all know that RAM is a very important when it comes to computers, this is because RAM is used for multitasking and its used for a temporary storage for your programs that are currently open on your computer. The more RAM you have the more you can have open and the better your computer will run overall as your computer has more memory to work with. For gaming/normal computers the HyperX FURY Series of RAM are perfect, this is because your getting some top quality RAM and for just over £50 its a great price. Your also getting a great clock speed as well, this clock speed is fine and its about average for most RAM i wouldn't recommend going to any lower RAM clockspeed. When it comes to gaming RAM is need obviously but good RAM i need and this is currently in my computer build and im very happy. One thing people don't know is that RAM doesn't effect your computers FPS! please don't think you need to spends loads of money on RAM to improve your gaming experience, yes you need something decent 8GB is perfect at the moment, but people who are buying stupid amounts of RAM for loads of money aren't really improving anything except your computers capability of having more programs open while improving its speed slightly.I would fully recommend this product its amazing for its money and this piece of kit should last you a few years too. Hopefully this has helped you.

I purchased these by mistake along with a Core i3 4170 and a socket 1150 motherboard. Why?Because I had become so used to do buying Haswell based CPU combos, you know, because Intel decided to skip the 5th Generation for consumers.Aaanyway. I managed to cancel the 4170 & socket 1150 before Amazon shipped them. Managed to purchase a Skylake i3 6100, that is not only 15% faster overall per single core, but was also £9 cheaper. Along with a much better equipped socket 1151 mobo, that thankfully took DDR3 memory. Which was a good thing as I couldn't cancel these, they'd already shipped.Aaanyway. These arrived. Very nicely constructed. Solidly packaged. They are rated for 1866Mhz,but you can run them all day long at 2200Mhz if you bump the voltage up to 1.65vThis is what I'm doing. They work great. As you know, Skylake CPU's appreciate the increase in RAM speed.2 days straight, no errors. Great to overclock to make the most out your money. Could tighten the timings if need be, but at i3 level, it would be negligible.Recommend them.Oh, and before I OC'd them, they just worked at the rated value, no messing with the Mobo Settings, so if you're not into OC, or don't know your way around the BIOS/EUFI, these are great, you won't be stuck on 1333Mhz, they will just run at their recommended 1866Mhz speed out of the box.

I had on the motherboard, N68 C-S UCC, a hy-brid AM2/AM3 DDR2/3 I put together as it was a cheap mobo. and to play about unlocking cores on cpu's, however the psu was some what lacking and couldn't give enough power for the graphics card and several drives, the mobo supports both 4GB in DDR2 and DDR 3 however DDR2 4GB is very expensive and not forward compatible to my next system build, so got these as an interim, to replace the Geil DDR2 800MHz (silver)The R.A.M. itself well its darker in colour than appears on my screen (quite a nice blue, keeping this in mind for my new build) the mobo didn't bat an eye at the change, its given a significant boost to the ram speed, though now being able to use the graphics card as well due to the new psu, for the 3D stuff I do, the ram speed isn't perhaps as obvious, though performance test says its better, by about 27%Good product, like most electrical items they tend to either work or not and if they fail tends to be quite soon, I have read about R.A.M. failing after a given time, I do wonder though how much if any is due to overclocking, my Q9400 on an Abit QuadGt mobo has been running at an over clock speed of +23% or so for the last 4 years, and never a clitch with the R.A.M. (Geil DDR2 800MHz 8GB Orange)

While brand and product line reputation isn't as much of a necessity when purchasing RAM, it either works or it doesn't, Kingston has an excellent level of brand loyalty among it's customers and with good reason. Their warranty quality (in the UK at least) is superb and if you have any issues with their products they'll almost always get it sorted. As for this stick I purchased a single 8GB white stick at £24.99, a great price for DDR3, you'd be hard pushed to find anything cheaper (new) anywhere else. The sheath over the chips is, as far as I can tell, metal, adding to the premium feel and adds little height to the profile of the ram so it shouldn't cause any issues with large CPU coolers.Theassortment of colours will doubtlessly serve anyone looking to theme their PC build. All in all a nice premium feel product at a value price. I've had no issues and I doubt you will either.

Very quick RAM, system seems to be a lot more stable now. Prefer this to my old Corsair RAM which only lasted 2 years.I have to say though, installing these requires some force. Don't be afraid to push it down. Until you hear the RAM click in place, then push down firmly on both sides to make sure it is securely in place. Also make sure you install both RAM into their correct slots to enable dual channel if you have 64bit architecture. Also you will find these RAM cheaper elsewhere such as Newegg. But bought from Amazon for an extra £10 as they have a great returns policy and are quick delivering. Packaging seemed a bit flimsy though, and Amazon Logistics just threw these through the letterbox and these are sensitive sticks and the lack of protection did concern me.10/10 to Kingston (HyperX)5/10 to Amazon

I bought two of these (4x4gb) for my rig and they came pretty quickly (Two days before the slated date)They work perfectly out of the box and install without too much pressure applied (Though I think the mobo might be a factor in that too) The heat spreaders are quite wide so the DIMM's sit pretty close together, decent airflow is always a must anyway but with these sitting so close you may want to double check your airflow set up to make sure it's getting plenty (If you are using four like I am)They aren't low profile but they are lower than most high end ram (Especially lower than Dominator ram)but clearance might still be an issue if you're planning on using up all of your ram slots so if you use a beefy air cooler and heat sink I suggest going for something lower profile.Amazing product, great value.

Bought these (pre-Brexit) for a shockingly cheap £24, to use as a downgrade for a 4790k HTPC conversion. Excellent RAM in every way. It was the best bang for the buck option I could find, and looks much nicer in my opinion than the equivalent Corsair LPX series (although not as nice as vengeance led's or dominators, but you get what you pay for). Certainly very pretty RAM for the money. At the end of the day it's RAM, the performance is the same as any other RAM at the same frequency and CL - it doesn't bsod and that's what matters! Perfect for using in an HTPC, or similar level browsing and media system and even a little photo editing and light gaming here and there. If you're main intention is gaming, editing, designing, composing etc. I'd recommend getting 16GB or more as this might not cut it.

I'm going to keep this review short and sweet. The build of this product is a very sturdy and it features a very neat design which also has many colour variants. It is worth pointing out that this contains 2x 8GB sticks not just 1x 16GB one. So if you don't have enough space then this isn't for you.For gaming, 16GB is a bit much as most games in current times don't even make use of 8GB. So if you're planning on gaming, then save money and get 8GB. But if you're thinking about doing editing/rendering or any other intense actions then 16GB may be needed. The RAM is quite fast and is more than plenty for what I do with it (gaming, etc.) and is only put to its use when rendering. At the end of the day, more RAM is better than not enough. And this RAM should be future-proof for a long time.

Does what it says! Not much you can say about ram... Silent, works, looks awesome.. although blue is actually dark blue not baby blue like image! But dark blue looks even cooler anyway! Heat sink is at a minimum so should fit under the majority of CPU coolers! When taking the ram out of its plastic packaging it was kind of hard, im sure the ram pcb is strong but was hard to get out as the plastic was a tight fit to the pcb of the ram! Price of ram has increased since last year (or last year ram was all on offer) so the price was a bit steep but that goes for all ram! Checked bios and all 8GB is running at the 1866Mhz! When buying ram make sure your motherboard supports the clock speed and the voltage of the ram!Not much else you can say about it...

Okay, a quick note on this product...So far it's pretty good though it has only been 24 hours and haven't really started overclocking or playing about with it's speeds yet as I'm still running another 8GB but with slower speed (1333 MHz) so this runs at the same speed for the time being, I am going to be getting another 8GB of this shortly once funds allow. As to the product itself, easy to install but slightly higher than my older RAM so the old fan cooler will definitely be getting in the way (already have a new cooler, just need to fit it). Plus the colour fits in with my Sabertooth 990 mobo so not too much of an issue there.Once I get the cpu upgrade and other slight bottlenecks this should at least improve my rigs speed quite dramatically.

The RAM arrived today with little packaging mess (always a good thing) and took less than a minute to install. The RAM in white looks really good and the casing material feels solid and high quality. In terms of performance it's perfect, works exactly as described and I can finally have multiple programs open whilst simultaneously playing a video game without stutter or lag.One quick note however! You may notice upon installation that Windows' task manager shows the RAM as running at 1333MHz and not 1866MHz. Ignore task manager, it's wrong. If you use CPU-Z to analyse memory it displays as 933MHz (which with dual channel is 1866MHz). I sat there for ages wondering why it was running at a low frequency, turns out task manager is useless!

I bought these to up my RAM and replace some no-name RAM.Quickly delivered ( always appreciated ).Had these over 6 months now and still going strong.Nicely packaged and the RAM itself feels solid and looks very nice with its heatsink. It was easy to fit, just like any other RAM ... align and clip, clip !Now these are not the most expensive on the shelf and perhaps does not have the same speed as the more expensive. However overall very pleased with this RAM .Honestly I have not checked the speeds on a technical level, however there has been a noticeable improvement in speed and so far is rock solid even with a mild overclock on my system (with no voltage increase )I will be buying more of these without a second thought.

Fitted straight in under my rather large heat sink, was recognised by the bios and speed adjusted. As for the quality, I replaced a set of HyperX that I had already as I needed the speed boost.Solid appearance with no tendency to bend, Heatsink covered to entire unit apart from the ends and the connectors. slightly bigger than the set I was replacing in height but only by a few millimeters.Look and feel really good quality.Came pact in a PET unit holding two memory modules and instruction also a hyperx sticker if you are one of those people who stick things on your case. The plastic was ridged enough to protect in transit and I have put the old modules in it for storage.Easy to open just slid my finger nail over the label.
