My 11YO wanted a photo printer for her birthday. This was the goto option on the market from my review reading. To be clear, nothing of this size is going to make truly amazing prints, but when watching some YouTube comparison vids, the Sprocket consistently comes out on top. They certainly make these things easy to use. The phone app connects seamlessly and has a really good set of built in frames, editing, filters, and pic art to spruce up your selfies.Loading paper is easy and the magnetic back pops off to insert the pack of paper (it holds 10). Once you print, it'll take about 30 seconds to give you the goodies. Colour reproduction is pretty good, but a little garish with some tones.A couple of steps down in the app for colour can correct quite well for skin tones etc.The photos are also stickers ( you need nails to peel).Battery life is pretty good but remember to turn it off (I don't think it has an auto off). It'll print off a good pack or so of photos on a charge. All in all this was a welcome gift for my daughter, and she loves using it with her friends too.A couple of points to note:- HP have revoked the augmented reality facility for photo's and the unit itself. Shame that was quite cool but explains why I couldn't make it work- Prints are quite expensive but worth it. Compared to other systems, there's no single use frame from the paper and the cost per print is comparable if not better than others. You can get 50 packs of paper that'll come out at 40p per photo.- you have to use the app. You cannot direct print from IOS to the device (or presumably Android)

Was in two minds about buying this product for my wife for Christmas based on the reviews I read on Amazon. But she wanted one. And she must be obeyed.Setup was very easy. Yes, the printer needs a firmware upgrade, but this sorted itself out once the app had been installed on the phone and the phone connected to the printer. The printer was up and running within 5 minutes with absolutely no hassle.Based on our (good) experience against other (negative) reviews, we suggest the following considerations before buying. This printer will not improve the quality of your phone camera - it's only as good as the tech it's paired with. This printer will not make you a good photographer if you're not one - garbage in,garbage out, sadly. Whilst it's cheaper than hiring a wedding photographer, a wedding photographer obviously doesn't need recharging or incur the cost of return postage when you're done with it. It's for life not for Christmas! We are very impressed with the quality of this product and the photos it prints. The photos are quite small, so there's obviously a limit to the level of detail, e.g. leaves on trees, that it is physically able to reproduce. However, for people photos it's spot on. Colours are accurately reproduced. The prints have a nice gloss effect which makes them look and feel like professionally printed photos. The cost of the paper is comparable with getting photos printed in a store.I'm glad I ignored the negative comments and bought this product, and my wife is thrilled to bits with it.

The Sprocket arrives in a HP labelled box, the printer is small, fits in to the palm of your hand, slightly bigger than most mobiles, and a bit thicker. This is great, very simple to use, all you do is bluetooth the printer and you can then send images from the phone, its as easy as that. You receive the printer, a set up card, 10 sticky back sheets (I’d advice you buy another pack straight away as you’ll soon use the 10) plus you receive a USB cable for charging etc, no charger is included. You’ll need HP Sprocket compatible paper, this is available on Amazon and plenty of other places, prices vary, 20 sticky back sheets is just over £10.What’s really great is the Sprocket doesn’t require ink,I guess the paper is thermal and has the colours etc in the paper.Quality of print is perfectly okay, its not fantastic or Photograph quality, but perfectly okay, its a bit like the Polaroid camera print quality, perfectly okay.A great printer, it’s not cheap for what it is, but If you’re requiring a quick print, its perfect, if you’re wanting a fun printer to give them selfies away, again perfect, It’s also a great gift for those that you’re can think what to buy for.

Are used to use a Polaroid zinc to print my pictures but thought it was time to update. This printer is very slim and there are no screws to open the unit and install photo print paper. The lid of the printer is magnetically sealed so it’s very easy to open but you need to ensure that the print paper is face down. The printer comes with a USB to micro USB cable charger which is fairly standard. To connect to your phone or mobile device you need to install the HP sprocket software which will guide you through the connection process and is very easy to set up. Once connected you can use this software to browse the pictures on your device, resize the image and print.Printing an image only takes three or four minutes and is reasonable quality. I have attached photo of a dark image to see how it would cope and it is a little darker than the original. The HP sprocket is more expensive than its competitors like Polaroid however so it might be wise to shop around.

This printer is what you make of it. The picture quality isn’t going to blow you away, but then the photos are small so unless you have a magnifying glass you’re not going to be able to pixel peep anyway. If you like to have physical photos or you want to keep a scrapbook of your memories and cherished times then this is absolutely perfect. The photos have peelable backs which makes them really good for sticking in books or places where the sun doesn’t shine (sunlight will damage the photos you see).Sure the photo packs cost and arm and a leg - but the convenience and the enjoyment somehow outweigh that. This printer would make the perfect gift for anybody who enjoys taking snaps with their phone, narcissists, gadget lovers, or people who like to stick photos on their fridge. I think you know the kind.

This is small, about twice as thick as a 'phone and broadly the same size otherwise. Easy to carry in a pocket or bag. The App is dead easy to download and simple to use. It prints really quickly and, whilst not top quality, is fine for a snapshot. There is no ink to fiddle around with and the depth of colour and contrast is really quite amazing. For what it's designed for, it's a five star product. Not for masterpieces but for day to day photos that you want to print immediately. The sticky back on the photo paper makes it simple to mount on a wall, in a book - just about anywhere. The only complaint is that the paper works out about £0.50 a sheet, which isn't cheap but not too bad for what you get.Very good.

I bought this during a lightning deal (£69) and so far it has been good value for money. As others mentioned the photos do curl at the edges if you don't stick them down. the pictures print with a slight zoom (barely noticeable but depends on if you've cropped the picture to get the perfect shot) and the colours are slightly off. I find that they come out slightly washed out, so I increase the saturation before printing to counteract that and it has worked well so far. Picture quality isn't perfect, but then you have purchased an instant printer and it is a lot better quality than my old Instax printer! This printer is good fun, and I've even used a few of the frames on recent prints!

Bought this as a Cyber Monday deal having looked at it for some while. Couldn't be more delighted. Used it yesterday for the first time, printing photos for my journal of a day out with friends. Having read the reviews, I didn't expect "professional" quality prints (which is why only 4 *) but with a tweak or two they were perfect for the purpose. And so much less expensive than using a big printer for such small prints, especially as I have a limited printing plan.Enjoyed playing with the various frames, finding one or two that suited the time of year but am hoping that more can be added with updates.

I use the photos in my journal as a pictorial diary (mostly I admit of my granddaughters) my first sprocket began well but quickly began to leave a white line through the middle of the print. I contacted amazon who immediately sent a replacement - can’t ask for more than that for customer service. This new one is perfect and has been used a lot. The only drawback is the cost of the photo printer but the bigger bundle you buy the cheaper each print is - about 44p each. Colours are pretty good and the prints are clear. All in all I’m very happy with both the sprocket and the customer service.

Love this little printer, small and lightweight, just slightly larger than your phone, this printer is not only easy to carry around but performs super well given its size. it's easy to set up with the app and makes zipping out prints from phone or tablet a breeze. The photos print out very quickly and it's only a few clicks on the app to get the printing started. My son absolutely loved this. This printer would be very helpful for someone who enjoys scrapbooking. PROBLEMS- These photos are pretty small (2.3x3.4) so if you are looking for a larger size photo, this printer is not for you.

I love this and wish I’d bought one sooner. It’s such a smart, neat little device. I love to scrapbook and journal and this is just SOOOO easy to set-up and use. It prints quickly and the quality is great for a pocket printer. Love that you can make collages, add stickers, borders and filters onto the pictures because you can make each photo so different. Just wish the prints were a little cheaper! Just be warned that you’ll need a USB charging plug/socket for this to charge up because it doesn’t have a plug ... just the cable.

Great little printer. I use it for my journal and the quality is amazing for the size of the sicker sheets. It works out to be 50p per sticker which is actually fantastic as journalling stickers can be a few quid by themselves. I use mine to track my cinema dates. I print out the movie posters and use them as a visual guide along with the cinema details so I can remember what I've seen and if it is worth a second viewing on dvd at a later date.I suggest buying in bulk for the stickers if you can to save yourself a few quid.

Bought this for my 13 year old daughter for Christmas and she loves it! We struggled to get it to pair with her phone but after a bit of trouble shooting on the HP website, it worked. The printer doesn’t have ink - the pigments are in the paper - so the quality is pretty good considering. She has had a great time editing pics with the app and loves the fact that the photos are stickers. We bought her a string of fairy lights with pegs attached so she can display her pics around her room. One happy teenager!

Quick review.Quirky little machine that easy fits into your pocket, mobile phone sized.Easy to use, we take pictures with our mobiles them send them to the printer via the app. Prints within a minute.Paper is expensive for paper however the printer doesnt use ink at all. No need for refills.Slightly annoyed that I didnt look into print sizes better, the photos are quite small , slightly larger than passport picture. However I would recommend using these pictures for scrap books as its ideal.

Really lovely bit of kit! Portable, can use it anywhere! Connecting was easy, charging was easy. I know theres been a few comments from other customers about the tint in the colour, can be a bit pinkish, but thats because its a thermal printer, so if youve been printing quite a few the printer can get a little warm so the pictures come out with a faint pinkish tint. Other than that the quality of pictures is reeeally good. I was surprised by how well they come out.
