It has a rounded front as usual, but flat back, top, and bottom, which creates a handy shelf on top for your shampoo etc.However, this lessens the rear clearance, making it necessary to make a special spanner to tighten the supply unions up properly. Neither I, our plumber, or our local diy store had one.Maybe having the version with extension pipes might have been better. Otherwise, it was a perfect swap with the leaky old unit, which had lasted over 10 years without servicing.The next niggle was the whistling noise it emitted on full flow, which we cured by removing the filter from the outlet. The last nuisance was the flow regulator's economy stop,

i feel like i SHOULD give 5 stars as it's definitely quality and works. But from Grohe and for the price I'd expect a tiny bit more...Plusses: Very nice looking and sleek, smooth controls, my plumber was happyMinuses: The left control seemed a bit loose - the plumber said it's fine and I suppose it is, but I'd expect the left and right control feel and look the same and they didn't. Also I assume it's a sign of quality but this is VERY heavy - I replaced a broken shower mixer so I had a comparison, although the same size this was double as heavy. The plumber had to build extra reinforcemment in the wall to support this - but perhaps my wall is just extra weak.the minus part is longer but only cos the positives are obvious.

Really good thermostatic shower controller. This item replaced a Grohe unit that had been installed about 12 years ago. The plumber fitted it in about 5 minutes with little fuss.New controls are far simpler to use and the temperature controls are perfect.If you need a thermostatic controller don't hesitate to buy this one. It looks good too.

For people with difficult in turning shower taps on of off this product is outstanding
