Husband purchased the footprint to save direct contact with the ground. It worked a treat the ground was very wet following a downpour of rain. This help keep the underneath of the tent dry making packing it a way a whole lot easier. The extra layer also help keep the cold from seeping through. Would recommend the purchase of the Nemesis Carpet to cut down on the cold as well.
