I needed a 3.5" floppy drive for my new Mac (OS X, V10.7.4) so I could write Midi Disks for an old Yamaha Keyboard that doesn't have any of the latest USB stuff on it. This works fine for 1.44 disks, but wouldn't read some older 720's. I tried a cheaper £9.99 unit from Amazon that was advertised as being Mac compatible, but when it arrived the documentation said it was for Windows only. However, the way that this unit works is that the Mac only sees it after a 1.44 formatted disk has been inserted. I didn't try that on the cheaper unit (which I returned right away) and I can't help wondering if it might have worked because the drive itself looked identical and probably came from the same factory

I got this as a present for a relative that wanted to recover some info that she had in old 3 1/2 diskettes; she could copy all the documents to her computer with no problems at all and was very happy with the drive. Just plug the thing with the USB cable to your pc and enjoy. I asked in some shops and they didn't know that something like this would exist, but this here you have the place to get it for a good price and ready to use as you open the box.

I bought this as I had a few of the old 3" floppys from years ago which I needed to access. I was able to then copy the info from them onto my laptop and have now been able to throw away the old, obsolete media. Now I do not have any further use for it but a few of my friends have borrowed it to do the same as myself. At the time of purchase it was only about £20 so it was well worth the money.

Bought for use with a new motherboard that had no internal floppy connector. Works well on the two operating systems I have used it on (Win7 64bit and Win XP home 32bit). Just plug it in and away you go. I was able to boot with it too.Loses a star as the unit is very flimsy, I wouldn't expect it to last long if being used as a portable drive.

The USB disk drive was bought as an add on to a Mac. Some of my data was previously stored on 3.5" floppy disks (before CD) and I needed to transfer it to my Mac. It done the job perfectly, no problem at all. i would recommend this product as a cost effective remedy as a Mac doesn't have a floppy disk drive.

I bought this to transfer some old photos from disc to my PC, work with no problems, I'm on windows XP. Good valve and worth having as a back up. I have not used it for other files but I cannot see why it wouldn't work well.

Most PCs / laptops do not have a floppy disk drive built in. Most of the time this is not an issue. But when you need a floppy disk drive, this will do the trick. On Windows recognised hardware so just plug'n'play.

Works okay but is quite flimsy. Fine for my rare use with mini CDs supplied with some hardware as my laptop won't take them. Used also for my wife's notebook which has no CD drive.

If you want to take a look at your old 3½ inch floppy then this is a must.Easy to use - just plug it in when needed, no external power supply required. Excellent value for money.

Good value item required to be able to still use floppy disc on the odd ocassion. Difficult to now purchase an internal floppy, so the external one will be great.

I like Freecom products and I have had few problems with them over the years. This one is as good as usual and I ma very happy with it.

allowed me to copy my documents from my old windows 98 word program into windows 7 with no problem
