When you get the Puppy out of the box, it looks rather unusual; a cross between a mongrel and something else. Once you pull out the tag located in the battery compartment at the back, you're ready to go.Most of the action is controlled by the left foot; the first press on the pad of the foot, announces that its `learning time', a second press `Let's sing and play games', and the third press turns it off.In `Learning time', the right hand is responsible for a series of songs about the alphabet, numbers, colours, and body parts. The left hand, right foot, right ear and tummy, announced what they are and a few other fun phrases. In `sing and play games', the left hand plays Pat-a-cake,and a few other fun phrases. The right hand activates Head Shoulders Knees and Toes and some other phrases, the right foot `this little puppy went to Market' and various other phrases. The right ear sings Itbsy Bitsy Spider, and the tummy, If you're happy and you know it. The cutest thing for me though, is the lullaby sung by the red heart. I'm not sure about the ten sing along songs the product description claimes though...The sound quality is very good and the voice is quite low with an English accent. There is nothing plastic on the toy other than the heart so babies can easily interact with it without danger of injury. My three month old niece loves the toy as she can cuddle it, chew on it and generally knock it about, while being rewarded by songs and phrases. When she's older, I'll teach her the actions to all the songs, further prolonging the puppy's usefulness and her parents' dismay.I highly recommend this toy, for both enjoyment and educational purposes.

Let me start by saying this toy is fantastic! We bought it for our eldest son when he was about 6 months old. He was fascinated by it and constantly had a smile on his face when playing with it. It was when his younger brother was born that he stopped playing with it as he wanted to give it to him. So we gave it to his younger brother, and sure enough it brought massive smiles to him as well. So much so that he still had it in his room until very recently (he's over 4 now).We now have a 3rd son, who is almost 6 months old. I introduced this to him at 3 months, and while he can't press the buttons etc himself, there is absolutely no other toy that can bring a smile to his face like this one does.He loves the songs in 'learning' mode - particularly when I warble along to them very out of tune and help him to 'dance' along! The dog does go off randomly by itself - but it has one of those sensores in that sets off after a few mins of not being played with to remind the child that it is still there. If it isn't played with or touched, you won't hear from it again. If however you do touch it or play with it at this point, it will keep going off every time there is inactivity until eventually no-one touches it.It is very sensitive and can sometimes be a bit frustrating when you think you've switched it off and it comes straight back on again - but the joy my sons have had out of this toy far outweigh that small inconvenience. This is without a doubt the one toy I would have bought over and over again.

Bought this for my 8 month old for christmas. He didn't pay much attention it and I was rather dissapointed because It is a rather costly toy. However, now this toy has become him absolute favourite. It is the only toy he owns that will hold his attention and keep him entertained for hours. When you give him the puppy his eyes light up and a big smile spreads across his little face. All you can hear is his little giggles when he barks and blows kisses. He is such an adorable puppy. Lovely, bright and colouful. Sings a wide variety of different songs and actually teaches children things unlike most toys ive seen. I bought this after seeing my husbands little sister play with it from when she was 6 months,by the time she was a year old she could do all of head, shoulders knees and toes ect. Seems a favourite with everyone I know who owns it.As for it being touchy, it can be but it has to be sensitive for little hands to touch. I wouldnt say it is annoyingly touchy and I have heard it finished songs. Plus the fact that when they are at this age it doesnt matter if it does skips because all they want to do is explore. By they time they get to the age where they'll benefit from it educationally they will have learned not to press it so much and to wait for it to finish. Personally I think it is worth every single penny.

This is a fantastic toy - we've had it since my daughter was a few weeks old, and for the first few months she didn't take much of an interest in it at all. At three months she stared at it as we pressed it's paws and tummy etc and now at 4 months she reaches out to touch it herself (not entirely successfully but she tries!) So I expect it will get much more use in the coming months and I'm pleased we've got this. The orange control paw can be hit once for songs, again for learning and then a third time to switch off. The different colours can be pressed on each function and will do different things / play different songs, there is a surprising amount on there. It's amusing for adults too - especially when you watch very young children hit it without meaning too and the puppy bursting out "Peek a boo, I see youuuu!" or "I LOVE you!!".No negatives - I know others have mentioned the sensitivity of the controls and that you can hit one accidentally, however I can see why this is necessary for children to be able to explore it when they're old enough, so I can't really fault that.Overall, highly recommended and I would buy this as a present or again if I had another child in the future and this one got pulled to bits.

Bought this for my 4½ month old baby boy after reading the reviews and for the price I think this is a good toy, he did take notice of it straight away and tries to reach out and touch it. Some of the reviews mentioned it being very sensitive to touch but I haven't found this to be honest and if you press a button (as with most things) it will move on to saying another phrase of singing another song, which I think is quite good for a baby anyway, it's part of their learning along the lines of cause and effect, you wouldn't want your baby pressing buttons and nothing happening! This is an ideal toy, love the bright colours, phrases and songs. Well done Fisher Price!

I love this toy, and I think my one year old also do :)It got 2 modes, one learning and one music, which you change by clicking the foot.Great songs, great voice and excellent learning. The only reason why it doesn't get full stars is that I think it should play everything all the way through. My girl presses things, and it doesn't finish before starting another. But maybe that will help when she is old enough to understand. I think it also shouldn't be as easy to press the buttons, as it's easy to accidentally press another. This problem wouldn't be an issue if the first one is sorted. All in all, I love this toy and i will recommend it to everyone.

This toy is very cute looking..It speaks, sings and looks funny. I bought this for my son when he was 8 months..He started to be chatty after hearing this toy talking..This is one of the very few toys he loves..He rolls around this, presses its tummy and laugs whenever it sings..The material is very good and is safe for infants. It has been more than 2 months of continuous use, still the battery seems to be doing o.k.I would say this puppy is a must for all infants. One problem though, the sound from this puppy may be annoying the parents as you can't control the volume and turning-off the sound is also not very easy..

The packaging the dog comes in isn't very good. When the postman delivered it it was singing away. At first I thought it was broken as it never finished a song or completed the alphabet but On closer inspection there is a second tab in the back that's you need to pull out. My baby loves it and it keeps him entertained for hrs. It's a firm favourite of his and now it has to go everywhere we do. I agree with other reviews it is very sensitive and altho it gets very annoying having to listen to the same things over and over and never hearing it out to the end it keeps the baby amused and if he happy I'm happy.

I can't understand some of the negative reviews. Yes, there are issues with the buttons being sensitive but they are not that bad. For the price this is a good toy which manages to be cute and educational. It is well made and contains a good selection of songs and effects. For a younger child it is ideal to hold in front of them and activate the buttons for them and show them the results - I am sure older children will button bash but that may be an indication that they need something more challenging. For a younger baby this provides good entertainment and value wrapped up in a cute package.

We bought this for my daughter at Christmas and she had just turned 7 months - she absolutely loves and it holds her attention like no other toy. It plays numerous tunes and jingles and it's heart flashes bright red while it's singing which fascinates my daughter. It's well made, no fiddly bits and it has been through the tough test after being thrown about and chewed thoroughly and looks and still looks brand new!I would reccommend to parents as it makes learning fun, the songs aren't irritating and holds my daughter's attention very well - no mean feat I can assure you!

We viewed this product on-line for our one year old grand-daughter. We wondered if her parents might think it was a bit big, but hey grandparents can do that! It is, in fact, the most amazing interactive toy proving to be the most loved and not too enormous at all. It speaks in English, not an American accent and the diversity of it encourages baby to touch and feel every part, which has many many different responses. We're really delighted with this educational, fun purchase.

This is a gift for my grand daughter for Christmas, it arrived very quickly, it looks lovely and cuddly and colourful. I have not tried out the music or noises as I do not want to remove it from the display box it came in but I'm sure it will work well. Also great that batteries are includes although I will put spare batteries in with the gift anyway (just in case). Beautiful looking produce. Giving 4 stars simply because I have not tested music/noises yet.

Bought this when my daughter was 6 months old. She loved it and it is still her favourite toy 6 months later. It is a bit sensitive and can switch very quickly from one song/phrase to another upon the slightest touch, however she has worked out now to sit back and listen if she wants to hear a certain song before touching it again. Keeps her amused for ages. Keeps going back to it time and time again. A great buy and would throughly recommend it.

No toy holds my 7-month-old's interest more than this puppy. He just loves it, and has loved it for a few months, so it's not a passing fancy! It sings songs, it counts, it does the alphabet, it names body parts and colours. It really makes my baby laugh. It's fun to watch him discover which body parts play which tunes. It seems very well made. My baby often throws it or chews on it and there is no damage done. It's a big hit in our house.

I have the same one,but speaking and singing in polish- it`s great, so I wanted the same one in english, but the one in english is singing 10 songs as the polish one, but only half of the each song... so I was a bit disappointed, although polish puppy didn`t have flashy heart. After few weeks I wanted to buy for my niece another one and I got one used from somewhere else. It was english older version, but was singing whole songs...
