I specifically purchased this backpack as I wanted something lightweight that I could take on vacation in a bigger backpack while still only travelling with hand luggage. This pack serves that purpose really well - it's incredibly light and stashes away well into my bigger Osprey pack. While not perfect, it's a nice, handy waterproof bag that you can take out and about during the day to carry a jacket, camera and a drink or two. The cords on the outside are handy as well - they were convenient for attaching my hat and scarf while out on a cold day.The bag is not perfect however. It's so lightweight that it lacks any real structure / shape. Even though you wouldn't fit too much inside,it sometimes took a little juggling to make it comfortable / balance well. The top also requires rolling up/down to open/close - which is great if you want a bag that keeps the water out but gets a little tedious if you have to get at the contents often.Overall though - I'm very happy with my purchase. It fits the purpose that I bought it for very well.

Had an earlier version of this without the reinforced base. Holes appeared in the bottom after some months of use which compromised the 'dry bag' nature of the bag, but it still served 5 years as a largely waterproof ultralight bag. I am hopeful the reinforced version will solve this problem. As you would expect from a big of this structure, the shoulder straps struggle with big weight loads and are not the most comfortable. If you work within it's limitations though, you're good to go.Similarly, the back support is minimal and can be uncomfortable when you have hard edged objects improperly packed. This can be avoided by careful packing and by packing softer items in the appropriate places.

A great rucksack and one that can handle a surprising amount of weight. On a recent trip to Australia it managed two 1.5 litre water bottles and clothing on outback expeditions, which was much more than I thought it could take without tearing. The outer drawstring has also been fine, however, I put it on the ground a few times and the thin material, combined with the weight of the bag and sharp stones on the ground meant that I now have a couple of small holes in the base of the bag. These have been effectively repaired with duck tape though. Overall, a great bag that is light weight, practical, waterproof and inexpensive. Also, ideal for city breaks. I've just ordered another one!

Very handy. Extremely lightweight, waterproof and reliable little rucksack which is easy to pull out of a larger bag to go up to a summit or just a trip into town when travelling. Quite tough too. Can be used as a waterproof stuffsack inside your backpack so adds almost no extra weight. There are no inside pockets though, so I sometimes find myself rummaging for small things (but that's presumably because they have prioritised weight). The elastic on the outside is very handy for an extra waterproof etc, or for fixing to your bike.

I have used my lightweight waterproof Exped Cloudburst for many years.Bought to use as a light day pack whilst travelling but has been used daily for work, shopping etc.It is proved to be extremely useful, lightweight and durable.Loved this bag so much I have just purchased a new oneThe Exped is not suitable for carrying heavy items, sharp objects or dragging across rough terrain.

This is my second one, used daily! Very lightweight though I shall be more aware of sharp objects being placed inside as my first one got punctured , also on the base where it had been placed on stony ground while hiking. My red bag is still good in dry weather!!

An excellent bag in many ways, I took it on a long-distance walk and loved it. Pity about the little bits of material holding the elastic in place, they were so cheap that they frayed and my elastic became unsecured and not fit to use.

The newer model has thinner straps and misses the transparent panel that let me see what was inside, but this is a handy little pack and I have two of them.Great for transporting wet swim gear, or gym gear, or a basic running pack.
