I have no affiliation with, or sponsorship from EXPED, but in my opinion, based on many long distance hikes (the most recent of which was 2 weeks on the Pennine Way in August 2019) EXPED make the best mats on the market.Others rave about the Thermarest range, but I can't stand the noise of them - it's like trying to sleep on a load of crisp packets.In contrast the EXPED is absolutely silent, very comfortable, tough and the lightest for the R-value on the market.I have been using the Synmat HL M for years and it has never let me down. I got the WINTER version for my wife, who is just getting into wild camping with me and can't stand cold striking up from the ground.
