This is really a great little torch and has all sorts of uses, its bright with a long battery life. I use the red leds to illuminate pro audio mixers and equipment for stage use as it remains unobtrusive, then switch to bright white when packing up and loading the vehicle. I suppose another use would be in a dark room. Because it has a stable flat base and the leds can be rotated from vertical to over 90 degrees down, its great for use on the bench, floor or even car engine to light up awkward areas when you need both hands free. It now has detent positioning so whatever angle you set it to it stays there perfectly stable. As its so light and compact it fits easily in a coat pocket,so when out walking at night it comes in useful thru overgrown footpaths and avoiding rabbit holes and duck mess in the park! It has a narrow, wide or both dispersion on white so thats very useful at night whereas the Energizer HI-Tech torch has a sharp circle of light so you see little outside the beam so have to keep moving it back & forth, this torch is far more useable. I suppose you could even use it as a head torch for a bike light, but its far more useful than that!

They sent me the new improved 'Pro Advanced 7 LED', it was advertised as water proof when only water resistant, (so should be OK in the rain, but don't submerse it in water) 45 lumens, when in fact it is 58 lumens, and delivered in 1 day when it was meant to come in 3 to 5 :-) I was that upset I bought 3 more from the same supplier as Christmas gifts ;-)I bought it for DIY tasks to replace a Ring Xenon bulb headlight I have had for about 15 years, and this is a lot brighter, with a lot better battery life (14 hours) and a bit smaller and lighter. It comes with 3 AAA Energizer batteries that I will replace with Eneloop rechargeables when these run out. It does not have a flash setting like some, which could be useful on a road to be seen better by traffic, or for mountain rescue, but not an issue for me. Ideal for DIY with 30m range, if you need to do mountain rescue you might want to consider the 'LED Lenser H7R' £37. The H7R beam can be focused which gives you 150m range.

I am very happy with this product but proberly would have been less happy if i paid full price. All the lights are very good and effective but there are 3 basic desighn flaws in my view that some people may be ok with.1-The button for the lights is in a quite awkward place to press.2-The head strap only goes round the sides of your head(ok if your sat around or wearing a hat to stop it slipping)but try walking home with it on with all your fishing gear in the dark and the slightest bit of sweat and it starts slipping down your head.3-They had the good sense to put the red light first which is a nice touch but when you need to turn it off you have to cycle through the other 3 Bright light settingsfirst Which can ruin your night vision..(whole idea of having the red first??).otherwise lights are very powerfull and i got it at a bargain price so rather happy.

Does the job. You'd probably want something a bit more robust (and more expensive) for more intensive and frequent use, but for an occasional head-light this is surprisingly good. There is a real difference between the floodlight setting which puts out a pool of light providing general illumination and the spotlight leds which provide a tightly focussed bright spot. The red leds also have a hotspot that provides enough light to work on something - eg fiddling with tripods in the dark - without upsetting everyone else in the area by using a white light. It uses 3x AAA cells which is a good compromise as it is enough to give bright light and reasonable battery life by comparison with lights that use smaller cells, but is not too heavy.

Bought this product after takin the wrong route up Scafell and having a nightmare coming down in the pitch black. Great little item does exactly what you need of a head torch. Multi LED settings really useful to cater for any environment.I do have to agree with the other comments on the cheapish plastic design, it privots forward on a flimsy plastic hinge that with a little wear now doesnt hold its position - simple remedy for me was double sided sticky tape to lock in the forward looking position (I personaly dont need it to angle down so good for me). Conclusion: I'm happy - the light is powerful, multiple light options cater to most needs, headstrap comfortable and easily adjustable.

Bought one of these to help with DIY work in our large loft. The light fits well on the head, and the unit itself feels well made and durable, despite the usual plastic materials. Fitting batteries is straightforward. I wore this over quite long periods of time and still found it comfortable. Having the various light options is great, though I must admit in our largely unlit loft I used 4 leds most of the time. This setting gives real, useable light to work by, not just a dim glow such as you get with some LED lanterns.I can certainly recommend this and I shall be using it on my bike as well in future.

I was looking for relatively cheap and simple LED headlights for my DofE expedition, then I came across the Energizer. For the same price as some of the other, lower end, headlights it offers 4 different beam modes. I found it relatively easy to hang up in the tent as well, which means it doubles up as a great "lamp".To improve it, clicking through all of the modes can get slightly tedious when you want a specific mode, but only detracts from the product if you need a specific mode really quickly (the red night option seems pointless if you have to switch between the brightest three settings first.)

Please be aware that Amazon are combining reviews for various models of Energiser Headlights - you may not spot this when looking at the products. The Blue Headlight has only three modes, off, low and high, it has no red light mode, just white. The unit itself is light and comfortable to wear, quite powerful and the headband has lots of adjustment. I'm a little sceptical of the quality - to tilt the light down you have to exert quite a lot of pressure for it to 'click down'. It feels a little like it might wear or loosen over time but we'll see.Overall, for the price it's a good product.

I bought this for sea fishing and it does just what it says on the can. Its as light and bright as I hoped it would be and does a great job.Only two small things: a) I only use one setting so to have to click through the series of settings is a bit of a pain each time I switch it off - but in the big scheme of things really isn't an issue. b)It doesn't 'click' settings when tilted so I'm not sure how long it will retain e it will notice that when I tilt it so it shines down as I want it to there are no 'clicking' steps. I wonder if with time it will get loose. Time will tell!

To start off, this torch is incredibly bright! Almost blinding when new batteries are put in. Which makes this a fantastic head torch for outdoor use! Scouts and Guides, this is something you need for camping! It has all of the different light settings, the red light I find useful for when I'm working back stage and don't want the light to be seen on stage. The other settings are perfect for when I'm pitching my tent or reading a map in the dark! Handily, it comes with 3 AAA batteries already and they last a while, so you don't need to rush out and buy new ones!

I was tempted to spend a lot of money on a head torch and then decided to have a punt at a cheaper model like this. Its quite powerful and has a number of different modes which are useful.I use it for walking at night and I have the beam pointed down a few metres ahead of me. The only downside is that I find some of the light is picked up in my spectacles from the downward pointing beam which is annoying. I haven't found this from other ties of head torch. However, placing it high up on your head alleviated this problem so I use this torch every night.

This head torch was bought as a Christmas gift for my Dad who lives on a narrow boat. He was in need of a good quality hands free head torch when carrying out various tasks on and around the boat. So far this has proved to be a absolute winner!! It is VERY easy to use and the light beam itself is incredibly powerful for the size of the item. There are a few "beam" options, as well as a red light option, - all of which have been used at some point or another! The head torch is light weight, BRIGHT and hassle free and I couldn't recommend it enough.

I love this light. It's nice and bright when you are using one of the white light settings and the red light setting is perfect for astronomy (if you go to an astronomy club you will need a red light otherwise you'll get loads of grief from the other members as white light ruins your night vision for about 20 minutes whereas red light doesn't. This is also the case for laptops, if you take one with you remember to buy either a red screen cover or a see through red plastic sheet to tape to your laptop screen, both can be found on Amazon).

torch has a good bright light in all modes. My only gripe and only applies if you are an astronomer is with the switch. All the modes are on the same switch and you cycle between them which is fine but in astronomy I would prefer the red light to be separate from the white lights.Ie when you press the switch you get the red, press again and you get white, then a different white then the final white. Among other astronomers if you start cycling between the different modes you are likely to get lynched when you put on a white mode.
