I have owned several headlights from Energizer over the years and they are invaluable; both hands free, clear line-of-sight vision; superb for DIY, camping, walking etc.. This new item has a three-push on-on-off switch thankfully going to red first then white (saves blitzing your night-time vision with bright white first). The new ergonomic fit is good but I can't help thinking this is a cheaper version of the old light; the plastic moulding is irregular (in the battery compartment) and the finish is not as clean as the old lamp. It is only ok on initial inspection and only use will prove it's worth or shortcomings.I can now also add, with the benefit of use, that the lenses "bleed" light (diffuse)

Unlike the other ones that I have this is very simple to select your different light modes. Either you have the dual white light LED or the single red light LED and off. The casing is like the 'advanced' version with a clip on back and also a seal to keep out moisture. The strapping is the standard elasticated version that okays on the sides and is easily adjustable. The head tilts up and down and feels more 'tighter' so will hold the level you select if you are bobbing up and down. The unit comes with 3 AAA batteries so just pop them in an off you go!

Really bright and battery life is good. Light is adequate even when set to the dimmest setting. Doesn't get turned on accidentally in your pocket as it has a button instead of a switch to turn it on and off and adjust brightness. My only (small) criticism is that it can be difficult to tilt, although I soon got used to how to do this and it also means that it holds its position well and doesn't flop down into your eyes. Overall I have found this headlamp very useful and brilliant value.

Bought this for astronomy. It's great for the money, although still a little bright so requires some tape to dim it if you want to use it for astronomy. The only let down is the fact that you cannot only use the red LED lights. If you use them and want to turn them off you have to cycle through the very bright white LED lights which damage your night vision.

Initial thoughts.. Good bit of kit, comfortable on the head and simple to use. Has a press switch, first press turns onto red light. Second press turns white light on. Third is off. So to be tactical you will need to cover light with your hand when turning from red to off to hide the white.. Adjustable angle and looks good too!

Good headlight, very bright LEDs and provide good light over a 20ft range. Easy fit head band and light attaches to the head band easily. The light has a 3 point click adjustment to have it facing from straight to 45 degree angled and straight down. Two levels of light power and a red option for using to preserve night vision.

Excellent product have only been arrested twice..lol....Ideal for.... well for anything where you need both hands...The lights are variedin strength depending on what's selected...But the full beam is needed in most circumstances...I have no idea what you might use the Red light for...except if your a Serbian snipe...r...

Great little piece of kit. Used mainly for night time wildlife surveys, so the red light is essential. The red light is bright and has a good range, as do the white LEDs. Still using the same batteries 9 months on. Comfortable strap that is easily adjustable. Handy to have for camping and any night time work outside.

This light has 3 modes, effectively allowing you to use 1,2 or 3 of its led lights at the time.Light is very bright and I can't seem to think why I would want to buy anything more expensive than this.Quality product, easy to use, well recommended.

Excellent light for the money. Really bright light at 200 lumens. I purchased it for camping and it can easily light up the entire camp site. Note this one doesn't have the red night vision light but the next model up does.

Very bright little light. Clever switch, scroll through to find the setting you want, but only one press to turn off. You don't have to press multiple times.

This head torch works brilliantly and hasn't gone floppy on the ratchety part which seems to be a problem with some other head torches

Very bright light and red night vision is useful for not blinding people whilst still illuminating a decent sized area in the dark.

Infared mode is great for seeing everything human and animal, awesome for night time strolling especially in woods.

Bought this for walking at night. Helps me navigate kerbs and cyclists. Ability to angle the beam is really handy
