I got my first car recently and after scouring the internet for a well-reviewed tyre-pump I settled on the Draper Double Cylinder. I'd read many reviews on many websites and this received both positive and negative. However, so did all the other pump's, but I opted for Draper because it is a well established brand I trust. I can tell you that I am very glad I did.The pump is very sturdy and quite lightweight. It has a secure connector unlike the Michelin foot-pump range, which use a metal to plastic screw attachment. I pumped 10 psi in around 1-1:30 minute at a steady rate. This is quicker than a lot of Compressors available on the market. The pressure gauge dial is a little off, around 1-2psi,however, I find if you need to pump the tyre up to 29psi for example, pump to 30psi and you will be spot on 29 psi after taking the pump off. Always have an analogue pressure gauge to check afterwards. Again, the Draper analogue pressure gauge is a firm favourite.Another thing to consider (I am not sure if it is standard with foot-pumps) is when you fully depress the foot-pump pedal, it sticks, so you have to give it a nudge up again. However, there is no need to fully depress the foot pedal, as enough air is supplied depressing it 4/5ths of the way.All said, there is no doubt that I will continue with this pump for many years to come!

Nervous after reading negative feedback comments, I ordered a Draper footpump. I needed a portable air compressor to reflate a flat rear tyre on ride on grass cutter. Wheel rusted to axle. The footpump worked fine. After 4 minutes of full stroke pumping, the guage showed positive reading of 1.5 bar, more than was needed. No, the gauge is not of National Science Laboratory standard, but it worked & it is easy to recognise a well inflated tyre from a flat, it supports the vehicle, looks & feels right. The curvature of the outer tread will give good rolling action. Pumped up the other tyre to recover the horizontal axis. Problem solved. Glad I did not go for a small noisy electric unit driven from a car battery.Pump moving parts lightly oiled, replaced in box & shelved for the future. Good workshop practice. ( 13 other inflated tryres in my life.)

Brought this to have close by in the shed for when checking and maintaining our bikes. So far i have found this very easy to use. My mountain bike only took 4 pumps to completely blow up the tyre, but note it was a quarter filled. so i think easily can inflat a tyre with 5-7 pumps. (my mountain bike has 26 inch wheels for reference). The nozzle locking has an easy release clamp which was fine to use.The only thing that confused me a little was using the football valve, as the valve is standard you dont need to turn it into the nozzle, you just lock the clamp.again this manage to pump up the size 4 football with 3 pumps as it was partially flat, where it hadnt been used in a while.overall solid piece of equipment for the price.

Contrary to some reviewers, I regard foot pumps more as an expendible than a permanent item. This replaced a previous similar item that replaced a previous similar item that......... .The order arrived promptly and put to use straight away. mostly on garden machinery. I have used it on cars, and the youngsters use it for bicycles and footballs. I find it easy to use and quick to inflate. Realistically, an item such as this cannot last for ever and if I get a couple of years out of it I shall be satisfied. I think one aid to longevity is to use it on a firm surface and not to allow it to twist about in use, probably the compnents are designed for vertical movement rather than at odd angles.

There's nothing wrong with this as an occassional pump and it does the job at a fraction of the price of the competition. The main weak points of this are the flexibilty of the frame (pump too enthusiastically and you can distort it into a weird paralellogram shape that means you end up pumping with your hand...maybe I'm too fat!) and the connector locking device bends as you try to lock onto the tyre valve (you have to push down on the thicker bit nearer the pivot which negates the advantage of a 'lever'!). Otherwise it's OK and no worse than the garage air pumps!!Correction after a couple of months usage: It's a draper product and it is now broken. Don't buy. Not now. Not ever.

The pump arrived within two days and was well-packaged. I oiled all the moving parts on the frame and the piston rods in hope of longevity, then pumped up all my car's tyres, the pump was easy to use, except there is no rubber pedal pad just a serrated steel pedal, so my foot keeps slipping off. I have the remains of my old Michelin pump which died last week so I will be able to cut the pedal pad from it and glue it to the new Draper one.The pump appears well-constructed with strong rivets on the fulcrum links and managed to inflate my skinny spare tyre up to the recommended 65 psi without any dramas. The pressure gauge even seems reasonably accurate, unusual for foot pumps.

Great value footpump. This is my 2nd one of exactly same pump-lost my 1st in car accident. Bought a replacement Heyner pump which was excellent pump but missed my old draper so purchased a another draper twin barrel footpump which I’m glad I did.Half the price of the Heyner and does the same job.. always liked the little release pressure valve on the draper that the Heyner doesn’t have..Anyway both pumps recommended by myself but for value go draper even though the Heyner is more sturdy and pressure gauge is more accurate on Heyner but draper near enough for me.Don’t pay over £20 for draper as you’re heading towards Heyner money..Only value footpump for me ;)))))

It’s a good pump in that you get good capacity from the twin cylinders - bicycle tyres were no bother! Come with all the necessary fittings for different valves. The only slight niggle is that the scissor mechanism isn’t super tight which means you can get a slight offset when using it that effectively jams it - but this isn’t a huge problem so don’t overthink this.If you use it in a straight, smooth action it works just fine - if you get overeager you might find this happens. This is a pump not an excuse for missing leg day at the gym.Works well, good value - at this price you really can’t complain.

Great value and easy to use. This pump is not very heavy although it seems well made. I bought it for bicycles, trailer tyres and balls and it was straight to work as soon as it came out of the box. It's nice wide foot pad is easy to operate. The adapters are very handy but I do wish there was storage on the pump body for these small pieces. Inflation is quick and easy. The rubber feet popped off easily as soon as I used it so I suggest a drop of glue or double sided tape on those before you start.Overall a good tool at a very good price.

Previous double cylinder footpump fell apart, firstly the plastic plugs on plactic stalks meant to reaimn pump in closed position broke/gell off, then the plasticv feet ends fell off/got lost followed finally by one of the main arms sheared whilst pump was being used + this one had been recommended by Auto Express as a Best Buy!!? Thus looks vewry similar but has only two plastic feet to stand on that look more substantial than the previous effort. Perorms OK, time will tell if its 'made' to last, or is just another cheaply made import??

I've had mine for just over 4 years used every two weeks to put a few PSI into my tyres. I've never used it to completely inflate a tyre I've got an electronic one to do that. The thumb lock attachment has just gone so now it lets out air, if I lock it in the other direction it's fine but it's about time I bought a new one. For what I paid just over £ 10 ex VAT it was a good purchase. I've never relied on the analogue gauge that's useless I've got a seperate digital pressure gauge for that.

Cheap and cheerful and delivered quickly.Only reason for 4 stars is Although its sturdy enough I do feel it could be easily broken by trampling skew. Tire connector is easy to use with the lever on it to seal and that.I tested the gauge and mine appears to be quite accurate being only a couple psi out, it's enough to get you out of trouble to get to your nearest station.I managed to pump my car tire from flat to full in under 10 minutes and was a decent workout.

I bought this primarily for wheelchair tyres, and using the provided adapter I was able to use it successfully. I had to work out how to get the connector to the tyre to fit snugly, so better instructions would have been appreciated. But it does the job, and build quality is good, and with the supplied adapters this should work on a variety of tyres, so it is good value considering it will have multiple uses. (P.S. I paid £9.99 bought direct from Amazon).

This pump is something I like to keep in the boot of the car for emergencies. It is easy to use provided the pumping is done in conjunction with a proper pressure gauge. The little round add-on gauges attached to many such foot-pumps and criticized by a number of your reviewers are always going to be unreliable - it's the efficiency of the pump as a pump which is the main issue here. This works fine and has a reassuring rubustness about it.

Does exactly what I expected and hoped it would.I previously owned a single barrel foot pump, which, apart from being fairly slow to pump, was all too easy to tip over when pumping and also drifted around the floor as you pumped. This one stays put and is very stable. It also has a reasonable length of piston throw, so coupled with the double barrel makes it a joy to use. The extra adopters and needle valve for a football were a bonus.
