I bought this product purely for the video file conversion, the other parts of media show were not required, the reason for only one star was because the prog had a nice desktop, but that was as far as was good, the vid converter was useless,it does the convert and points you to the new file which does not play,it usually has only a few bytes,i have done as it says, several times,on 7 and xp,nothing, waste of money,to add insult to injury it refused to be removed(xp) so i had to go through a manual removal, into the registry and all the places it puts files folders etc.If you want it for photos its ok but there are many free progs that can do this so why pay,in my view its not worth buying but thatsbecause of the vid side, one last thing,it comes in a nice box, lots of nice graphics etc but there is nothing but a disc in a paper case inside, think it could have been put in a dvd type case instead, these are my experiences, maybe you may think different!

I bought this software to make films of live music events I attend which usually have three or more groups playing. Although it does a very good job of compiling clips into a longer film what it lacks is any way of including a menu so you can skip to individual performances or songs. It was therefore of no use to me and will probably never be used again. The software also has no way of burning to DVD making it even more limited. Whatever you want to do with video there are free utilities which can do a better job as Media Show 5 has very little to offer. I will go back to using Ashampoo for mastering and burning video.
