There is a lot to like here, and just two nits. I have used dry snorkels and not so dry ones. My former favorite is the same color as my fins, whereas this Cressi one is not. I guess I will have to mix it up from here on. The way dry snorkels work is that a float near the not of the snorkel rises with the water if you dip it below the surface, closing off the snorkel tube and keeping water out. With my old one, it was the entire float that closed the tube. A long time ago, it stayed dry. These days it always leaks a tiny bit of water--just enough to rattle when I breathe. The Cressi snorkel has a tiny, thus very lightweight, float, that operates a lever to close a flap. Simple. Effective. It stays dry, and I have tried to twist and turn in the water, look at my feet and tip the top into the water trying to it leak, but couldn't.The clearing mechanism is highly effective. One strong blow and any water is cleared out completely. (My old one is more difficult to clear). The mask clip is two pieces. One part stays on the mask strap and the other on the snorkel. Just snap together, or push button and detach. Nice feature. Now the nits. It took me about two days of use before I finally got the height of the mask clip right so that the mouthpiece wasn't being levered out of my mouth. The snorkel is bendy so it wants to straighten out. Once I had it properly adjusted, it was fine, but it was annoying at first.Second, the mouthpiece is a wee bit on the large side. As far as I know, I have an average size mouth. Maybe if you're Angelina Jolie, you wouldn't agree, but it would fit me better if the thing were a bit smaller. It is certainly usable as is, but something to be aware of if you know you have a small mouth.

This is a snorkel tube with an automatic valve to keep water out. The tube measures 16” long and weighs 6 oz. The stiff upper portion of the tube is mounted on a flexible silicone rubber section. The replaceable mouthpiece is also made of soft silicone rubber. The tube attaches to the strap of your dive mask with a detachable snap buckle for easy installation or removal. The valve at the top of the tube works automatically to block water from entering the tube. At the bottom of the tube is a purge valve which similarly works automatically. The product was made in Italy. This is a really easy tube to use for snorkeling. I like the way the valve on top of the tube keeps water out. That way,if I get distracted by fish and swim too deep, no water gets in my tube. And if a little water does manage to seep in, it drains automatically out the bottom purge valve. The purge valve also works well for clearing the tube after diving below the surface. I found the mouthpiece on this tube to be more comfortable than many that I have used because it is a little smaller and doesn’t make me choke or gag like big mouthpieces do. Overall, this tube feels and works great in the water and looks like it will last a long time.

The Cressi Foldable Dry Snorkel is a great snorkel for beginners and people who want to avoid having to clear their snorkels. My husband and I have been snorkeling for many years now and are in the process of teaching our kids how to snorkel as well. While our kids are able to clear their snorkels reasonably well, they also are learning how to position their snorkel more effectively. The Cressi Snorkel allows our kids to snorkel for a longer period of time without having to clear their snorkels because less water gets in. The air flow is not quite as good as snorkels without the water blocker in place - this isn't an issue if you are recreationally snorkeling or move more slowly, however if you are moving around a lot, you might find yourself a bit winded. The snorkel unit attaches easily to snorkel masks, and folds down very compactly. Overall, this is a solid snorkel if you're a casual snorkeler and don't like having to deal with water down your tube.

This is what I'd been waiting for. I'm only an amateur snorkeler, but I can't tell you how often I've thought "oh, how I WISH I had a snorkel that would allow IN enough air when I'm on the surface while at the same time closing up when I dive under water. THIS IS IT!Other "dry" snorkels I had tried failed at least partially at one or the other - either not *quite* keeping water out when I submerged or not allowing in enough air when I wasn't under water - like breathing through a thin straw, if you know what I mean. On the other models the valve mechanism that made the snorkel dry also provided an air obstruction when breathing above water. Not so here. The Cressi silicon mouthpiece fits comfortably and naturally into my mouth and the tube attaches easily to my mask or goggles.I was provided a sample of this snorkel in exchange for this unbiased review but, truly, I've paid for other "dry" snorkels that didn't measure up.

With a decent mask (like Big Eyes) this is a way superior set-up than any "full face snorkel mask". This snorkel is well made and does the job. It breathes very freely (unlike the Full Face set-up) and the shut-off valve works very well when diving beneath the surface. The snorkel clips very conveniently to the mask strap and the flexible lower section allows it to be "spat out" when not needed whilst still being retained. Can't compare with other snorkels as I have not tried others. I have only tried the "Full Face Mask type" which I found so difficult to breathe even at very moderate exertion. They also make your face really hot as the heat of expelled breath builds up in the mask as there is no way to dissipate it.So my advice, get a conventional snorkel and decent mask and this snorkel is very good.

I ordered two just t make sure I had a working one before my trip and I'm glad I did. One leaked at the float stop at the top and the float liked to stick closed. The second was perfect! So amazing how well it works! I could scuba dive 60', surface and switch back to snorkel to find it was still water free and ready to go! Big waves? No problem! It'd close and open on it's own while keeping the water out. I even used it to avoid covid on the dive boats figuring I'd be sucking air above everyones breath Make sure you test that the float moves freely and that it seals when the float valve is closed.Otherwise ignore the molding issues on the silicone where the tube bends because those ridges are just for flexibility so it's purely cosmetic unless there was a gap so large you can suck air through somehow.

I like the automatic valve systems which closes off in case you accidentally temporarily end up under the water or a wave. Experienced divers will easily deal with such a situation and simply expel the water by blowing it out, but others might end up with a coughing fit and a very unpleasant experience, so this is great to avoid too many of thoseThis snorkel provides very clear air access and it’s comfortable to use. It fits well in the mouth and therefore it’s not too hard to bite down on during long periods of snorkeling. It’s quite rigid compared to others I’ve tested, but that is not a disadvantage (other than possibly if you have a small pack) as the system works well,it’s easy to place on the mask and I’ve not had any experience with it drifting off position.I like it

This arrived speedily delivered by Parcel Force in an Amazon branded cardboard box .The Snorkel looks of a good quality and is made of silicon rather than rubber .It has a water well with a valve that allows you to remove water Fastly . There is a splash guard at the top of the snorkel which closes when you above the water .It has a clip on it which you can use to attach it to your mask .I'm not a snorkeler myself but my daughter often snorkels with my grandchildren when they holiday abroad .She's impressed with the quality of this one and tells me it's reasonably priced for a premium product of this type

The Cressi Alpha Ultra Dry snorkel uses a proven design. The location and length of flexible silicone tubing, and the design of the ultra dry mechanism is identical to the Oceanic Ultra Dry Snorkel (which I love). I guess if something works, then the manufacturers copy each other. The only differences are cosmetic. I prefer yellow snorkels because any extra visibility to see your partner is a good thing, so I recommend the yellow/black Cressi snorkel (not the blue one that I got). Here is a photo of the Oceanic and Cressi next to each other.

This snorkel has everything.– removable clip so you can leave it clipped to your goggle strap and then easily click it back into the snorkel– purge valve down near the mouthpiece, making it easier to purge– float that allows you to submerge the snorkel and not get water inside of it– splash guard in case waves go over you when you're underwater– flexible bottom half so that it moves the mouthpiece out of your way when you aren't using itI am thoroughly enjoying this snorkel and can't wait to go back out into the ocean with it!

Had the opportunity to try this out on an extended 10-day seaside vacation. Works great, especially the auto-seal feature that keeps water out of the snorkel tube. Never had even a trickle of water enter, never had to clear the tube while snorkeling. The removable clip design on the attachment bracket (for attaching the snorkel to a mask strap) was very helpful, making it much easier to attach or remove the snorkel from the mask when needed. The flexible design made it simple to pack as well. Would recommend this to anyone.

I have to say that this product is superb - so good that I ordered one for my wife as well even though she's a far better swimmer than me! I recently used mine in the Red Sea at Marsa Alam and I had no problems whatsoever and this gave me the confidence to fully relax and concentrate on the fabulous marine life as it quickly and effectively shuts out waves so no choking whatsoever. Wish I had bought this fantastic product from the off! Quick delivery quickly too! Highly recommended.

Super smart design. The angled pipe, just makes sense! Mouth piece sits in nice, without making my mouth soar. The bonus to this one is that it will avoid getting unwanted water into a person's mouth. Nothing worse than swallowing a heap of saltwater. I take quite a few trips that include water activities and prefer to bring along my own snorkel. I am not a huge fan of using one that is provided and was used by many others.

For around the £15 mark this is good value as it seems a pretty solid product. As someone who’s a relative beginner I appreciate I ate the splash guard which will be useful for me. It’s fits in perfectly with my mask and is comfortable to wear for the short period of time that I’ve tried it on. I’m looking forward to fully testing it in the summer but at that price it’s great value.

Dive deep, and it totally seals so virtually no water enters while diving. You can connect any google strap, there's a detachable clip. You'll need to somehow block your nose, either with a large mask, or a nose clip. Fits from pre-teen (e.g. 10 yrs old +), depending on the person. Overall, and elegant and sturdy. The Alpha ultra dry (this model) is a smaller mouth piece than the
