From the off, I must highlight that I am not an experienced camper. I have borrowed tents in the past couple of years for events but have never taken the plunge into actually purchasing one. With a number of upcoming camping trips I will be going on in the next few years, I felt it was about time I got one that would work for my young family by giving enough space and luxury without the hassle of loads of setup/take-down. Well I could not have chosen a better option! After receiving my delivery within 24 hours, I was initially amazed how compact the bag was for a tent that (in the pictures) seemed so very big. Then came the setup. Again, I must stress that I am not an experienced camper… so this is the part that filled me with the most dread.I watched the incredibly handy video on Amazon which takes you through the step by step setup (which was very useful, and I would advise you following the first time you put it up), and to be honest it was incredibly easy! The pump (which is included) was extremely effective and it took me about 30 seconds to pump up each of the 3 support tubes. From there it was as simple as pegging the guy ropes and the main structure was done! That’s it!The slightly more time consuming and (initially) fiddly part was putting in and bending the fold-up poles for the massive porch area. To be honest I am sure it was my inexperience that made me take a bit longer on this, as once I had done it once or twice the 3rd time I had it licked. You can do this on your own but if you could ask for a second pair of hands it will speed it up nicely. It is important to note that you technically do not need to put the porch awning up… there is a door into the ‘reception area’ from the side which you could use, so if you are short on space then you could manage with this easily.Once up, the tent is simply amazing! The black-out bedroom area is incredible, and even in the middle of the day it is almost completely pitch black. The only light (which is useful) is from little dots from the seams. There is storage galore and quite simply loads of room (I didn’t try the swinging cat test though...). As a family of 4 we found it incredibly comfortable and roomy to sleep in. On my last trip with my daughter for a school camp it got a lot of ‘wows’ from the other campers and was universally agreed as the best tent there. Quote from one 8-year-old: “Wow, you’ve got the SICKEST tent here!” – You can’t get higher praise than that.Packing away was outrageously simple: Pull the pegs and porch poles out… press the valve on the inflatable supports which instantly deflated (don’t jump at the noise) … fold and put back in the bag. For such a big tent the process was amazing. As you can tell, I am a fan. To offer a balanced view though I wanted to highlight the weight. This is not an issue for me at all, but make sure you are capable of carrying the 23kg from car boot to pitch. If you are planning your D of E or trekking the Inca Trail this is probably not the tent for you! Similarly, the pump is amazing but helps if you can give it a bit of muscle. It’s not essential but it will make it quicker and easier.I am looking forward to many years of happy and luxurious camping in this tent, and I hope that this review has helped.

I just went from a week holiday last 19-25 July 2019, on the first 2 days it was raining NON STOP and accompanied by strong wind. As it was my first AIR TENT, I was so afraid that the air pressure for the towers will give way. Lo and behold, no damage or burst happened with the main tower air poles, no leaks occured but it's just the normal moist in the tent that was dripping inside. When putting air pressure STRICTLY follow the instruction do not put too much pressure on it, as for me, I put a little bit less than the required air. Why? I am afraid it will explode like other people I heard using air tents. But I guess they put too much air pressure causing the air towers to explode. Another tip, better buy extra AIR TOWER replacements just in case accidents happened. As of today, I google and found dealer for the coleman air tower replacement suited in Devon and they can post it for you.My advice is bring extra rug for moist inside the tent, but on every tent this has been always the problem as not much air exchange from outside. There is a solution, just unzip some of tent for windows as there is a meshed anyway to let air in.But I was amused with the rooms as it's really almost completely dark. The dark rooms will extend your sleep with no light bothering you too early.Generally, I am very happy with this COLEMAN AIR TENT. I am currently ordering a replacement air tower in case for future accident as when it burst your holiday is ruined.

It is easy to put up. I am baffled by the choice of having the air poles for the first 2 sections, then fibreglass poles for the porch though. I also think that the hinged door needs a bit of work, as it doesn't stay in place very well without zipping, which rather misses the point. The dark bedroom is *fantastic* pretty much pitch black, however the internal tent isn't as big as the external dimensions suggest (my fault, I should have realised) so I can't fit the double mattress and two singles (although I think I could *just* squeeze in 2 doubles if I had them). Also the pockets inside the bedroom are low down, they don't expect a high blow-up mattress.I would like a few more hanger bits,so I could attach solar lights around the bedroom. It took me less than 30 mins to pitch (I had help from my children - it would have been quicker otherwise!) - and importantly, it was ready for the kids to get into within 5 mins (just pump up the 3 air poles), and it was just the pegging the guys and the porch left - so if it was tipping down you could get in and dry very quickly.Packing it away was fine too - just unpeg everything, uncork the air poles, then fold sideways until it's the width of the bag, then roll it up - fit in with no problem at all.

This is great. If you can afford it, buy it.Goes up and comes down very easily, three air poles and two fibreglass ones. The enormous porch is fantastic, when it rains you can get in and out of boots, coats etc without going in to the tent.Front door is genius, my partner is struggling to bend at the moment, this is just so convenient. And the blackout bedrooms are tremendous. You really can sleep to 9.00am.And it’s warm at night. Was surprised how cool it was outside on a couple of mornings. It stood up well to heavy weather going through 12 hours of storm without any problems.Only criticism would be the inner porch could be a bit bigger, but that’s it and the size is clear on the pictures.Weighs about 20kg so one person can lug it around.Replaces my Coleman Sahara 4, great tent but heavy and now leaking a bit. And no porch.Highly recommended.

We’ve used this tent twice now and love how easy it is to pitch. It only takes 10 minutes. The blackout rooms really work, but if you have a child who is scared of the dark (like we do) don’t forget to pack a small night light or be prepared for the crying! My two favourite things about this tent is the hinged door; no more zipping in and out every two minutes, and the porch area; keeps you nice and dry and out if the wind whilst still being able to sit outside. We were camping in heavy rain, highish winds and a hailstorm. The tent withstood everything easily.Would definitely recommend this tent.

Best tent I've ever owned. So much fun putting it up at the same time as the family next door with their 500 piece stick frame. After a few tries, I'm down to 10 mins. I've had it up in strong winds and lashing rain without any problems. Two small issues I do have; one of the inner tubes has a small leak. I've taken the tube out of the tent and hope Coleman will be willing to repair or replace it. Also, one of the guy rope attachments ripped off. This one I'll sort my self because I don't want to send the whole tent back.

Fantastic tent easy fits 2 adults and 3 children. Easy to put up (one man). Would highly recommend... I apologise if anyone has bought this tent on my previous review. Having been on holiday to Northumberland with the tent there is wind damage to four anchor points for guide rope torn away from tent and damage to canopy when tent turned in on itself. Contacted coleman customer service and they don't want to know. Therefore would not recommend this tent. (Canopy acts like a balloon)...

It's a great tent. The only problem I have found is the 2 elastic ground straps for the awning are a major tripping hazard. Either have to peg them down or use some flooring.Apart from that a great tent. The black out sleeping section is a master stroke. Easy to put up and plenty of room.

LOVE THIS TENT. I have never put a tent up in my life but after practising a couple of times i feel very confident to go camping anywere. I have spent months looking at different tents but thus really suits my needs.
