Even after reading the dimensions of these binos I was surprised by their size when the package showed up. These are very small binoculars, and they are also very lightweight. They adjust fairly quickly and the image is reasonably good considering the tiny objective lenses and the low price. The clarity in the center of the image is good on both sides of the binos but the edge of the image is a bit blurred on both sides. They are surprisingly bright for such small objective lenses, color rendering is fairly accurate, and the field of view is very wide. These binoculars are much better than similarly priced roof prism binos and are about as small as they could be without easily getting lost.I recommend these if you have a very limited budget and size and weight are major priorities. I am going to use these when backpacking and as loaners for sporting events. Because they seem fairly durable, are cheap, and they are easy to pack along I think these would be good to keep in a bugout bag, your car, or in a backpack. The moderate magnification and wide view should also be good for sports and stage shows. These are good for the person who wants a minimally invasive bino. They are easy to carry, afford, and to use. If image quality is the primary concern, while cost, size, and weight are secondary, I would recommend going up in price and size. Of course, compared to the mini scout this includes almost any binos. Models that I have tried (and highly recommend) that are a solid step up but are larger and more expensive are the Olympus Tracker 8x25, Nikon Travelite V 8x25, and the fairly small Swift mini micron 8x21. These all offer a much better image than the mini scout, but also are larger, heavier and more expensive. If you are going to use the binos a lot and for longer periods of time, they will reduce eye strain and be more enjoyable to use. However, if you just want a pair of binos that are very compact and cheap, with useable optical quality, the Carson Mini Scout is a solid choice.

We are looking forward to using these for a safari trip in South Africa. We ordered the 10x25mm set, and they are small but chunky. My husband wears glasses, so he was very pleased to have eye cups that roll down. The instructions for adjusting the binoculars for distance and focusing were very helpful and clear. Although we have only "played" with them outside for now, I think they will be excellent for travel, as they are lightweight and powerful enough for good viewing of wildlife. They should fit easily into the pocket of a small daypack.

My eyes aren't what they used to be. I like nature walks, and hiking. These small binoculars are a great asset to me. They allow me to appreciate the great out doors and zero in on many things I would otherwise miss. Another thing is the size and compact design. They are easy to carry around the neck or in a pack. I don't have anything to compare them to, so I'll just say, they are very good for me. The focus is good, maybe even better than good, For the price, you can't go wrong, and I have no doubt you'll like them.

For the price these are amazing little binoculars! I saw the same ones at Rick Steve's travel store and they are suprisingly clear and easy to use. I wanted to have something light and small enough that I'd actually bring with me when I travel and these fit the bill. I bought a second pair for my daughter but she was reluctant to have them until she saw their small size ("Too cute!") and functionality. Now they're going with her to Europe!

Great clarity, brightness and fov for $25. And it’s tiny. The claimed 490 ft fov at 1000 yards appears to be accurate and is a good bit wider than my 435 ft Nikon Monarch 7 8x30. The edges aren't sharp but it's far more useful to have a 490 ft fov with blurred edges than it is to have 375 ft fov that’s sharp to the edges. It weighs the same (4.5 oz) as my Opticron 8x25 T4 monocular and is easier on the eye(s).

These are incredibly lightweight and small; no tired shoulder from carrying these around! They are perfect for travel for viewing painted ceilings and stained glass window details. These are the same ones sold on Rick Steves website except that they are cheaper on Amazon. They are easy to adjust both for magnification and eye width. I'm looking forward to using them on an upcoming trip.

Did a lot of research and read a bunch of reviews before settling on these 7x18 pocket style binoculars from Carson. I didn't want giant 10x50 binocs, or even 8x42 birding binocs. These were meant for a super portable pair that can fit in a pocket and go anywhere. I took them skiing and the impressed everyone I let borrow them. Very pleased.

The Carson Mini Scout is a very compact pair of binoculars. Not only can adults use them but they work well for my 5 and 6 year olds. They can easily hold and focus the Mini Scout. While the optics are not as good or as bright as my 7x50's they are quite effective well into dusk.

These are perfect for what I wanted, extremely small binoculars with mid power. I am able to slide into my shirt pocket or pant pocket. They also have a carrying case for protection and a belt will slide through to carry at waist. Great quality for the price.

My son (4 years old) enjoys nature walks so I purchased this for him to observe birds and squirrels among other things. He loves it. I was shocked at how great these work. I plan on buying a set for myself. Perfect alignment. Highly recommend for the price.

Bought these for grandchildren age 5----small, light, good fit for small hands and they are real bincoulars (not toys), so good small binoculars for adults too in stadium events, theatre, etc. Fit well in purse or pocket. Very satisfied.

4 stars would be 5 except for price. focus is great, theyre light weight and compact. The product is excellent, my only complaint is in my opinion overpriced. But def wont be disappointed.

These glasses are terrific. They work as good as regular size binoculars but are lightweight and small. Can't beat the price. I carry them when I go cycling. I would highly recommend.
