I had tried Eyeskey 10x42 professional waterproof binoculars but had trouble with their field of view and the focusing knob. So I purchased these Carson VP 8x42, wanting something smaller and lighter for backpacking than my 15 year old large and heavy Oberwerk 8x56 and 15x70 binocs that I had for astronomy.The Carson VP 8x42 provide a nice field of view and excellent clarity. The focus knob works smoothly. I can get focus within 2 meters. I'm keeping them and returning the Eyeskey. The Carsons seem to be better constructed. I'm hoping that the waterproofing of these Carson binocs holds up to various hiking and backpacking conditions.Should they not I'll come back and revise this review.

Got this model of Carson binocular for my 88 year old mother in law. She loves it! She is able to see clearly thru them, and they are small enough that they do not weigh too much for her to hold up for long periods. Due to their smaller size, her hands fit them good. That being said, I, with my larger hands, have no trouble using them also. They give a sharp, clear view with excellent color rendition and a bright picture. One comment my mother in law made was that now she could "see into the woods" around our house to pick out birds. Like other Carson products (I have the 8 x 42 Carson 3D series), these are an exceptional value for the money, and I highly recommend them!

These are great. Put them thru their paces as soon as I got them today...handheld easily without undue vibration, smooth focus, a beautifully clear lens offers a brilliant view. Although I suppose I could be impressed simply because my house binoculars were so lousy, I have to say that with the price reduction offered on Amazon this well built pair is well worth the cost.

Bought these after doing some research. They were the lower end, price-wise, of 3 pair of binoculars i researched. They were recommended by an orinthologist, so I decided to buy these as the price was in my economic range. They are a little heavier than i would have liked, but they are really a good pair for an amateur like myself. Overall I'm happy with the purchase.

These binoculars are terrific. They are quite easy to focus, and aligning the eyes is quick and accurate. I am amazed at the clarity and brightness of the view. The wide and padded neck strap makes it quite comfortable for long periods of time. All in all, a great purchase.

I was pleasantly surprised at these binoculars when I received them. The clarity is amazing and I love the fact that they are fog and waterproof. There's a lot of beautiful things that God created in this world for us to look at and I got an amazing product to do just that!

These are great binoculars! I bought them for a ferret spot light conservation project and they're great! You really don't want a higher zoom than this or everything is shaky far off, so really you get the biggest bang for your buck with these bad boys.

Left our Leica binoculars at our winter home because of a Covid snafu. Got these to use this summer. Exceeded all expectations!!! Lightweight. Large field of view, clear image. Nice adjustable eye cups. Works well with or without glasses

I am fortunate in that I have a high end pair of binoculars but I wanted a low budget pair for all around use and I am just floored when I use these.For the amount of money invested you can’t beat these.Hats off for Carson well done!

Got these yesterday and I love them ! they are fantastic and just what I needed for my hobby of bird watching and hunting. The clarity is fantastic and I really like the way the eyepieces screw out so there is less glare. 5 Stars !!

Coming from an old pair of binoculars handed down through the generations (you know the ones in a crusty leather satchel lol) these are a massive step up...The clarity is amazing for the price you cannot go wrong.

These binoculars are exactly what I was looking for. They are so good that I have just ordered another pair. I have tried many more expensive binoculars and these ones are much better.

The viewing is extremely clear, easy to focus. Good case EXCEPT the binocs don't fit into it with the strap attached! How inept is that? Otherwise, very fine binocs for the price.

But these are really good for the price. took them to yosemite recently, happened across a bear and pretty sure i got the best view in the house, absolutely crystal clear view!

Great binoculars, however the carrying case was ripped at the seam. Unfortunately there was nothing in the packaging of how to get intouch with the makers.
