I travel a lot in the tropics, and have for years lugged a hanging net around with me which I rarely used - when I needed it I was always either too tired to work out how to hang it, or in 'executive' places (that often do not provide nets - I guess mosquitos have an inferiority complex that keeps them away) the owners would be devastated if I destroyed the walls installing my own hooks. I've found this pop-up net indispensable and have used it frequently. Admittedly, it should only be used tucked into a single bed, but I find it ok to tuck it underneath my sleeping bag liner and pillow (certainly more effective than no net at all). It's fairly bulky but actually doesn't weigh any more than a mid-price double hanging net.I would say it's about the size of a large dinner plate when packed down. Packing down is slightly stressful as you have to twist the pop-up frame down (like a pop-up tent), and a couple of times when rushing, I've felt like I might accidentally break it doing this - but so far so good. Really sturdy net fabric - would be hard to rip. Much easier to get in and out of than a big net tucked into the entire mattress. Obviously must be used in conjunction with other bite prevention strategies. Overall extremely happy with it and it comes everywhere with me.

Well, it kept mosquitos out and survived a sand storm! The dome shaped head space provided quite a bit of amusement for my West African friends, who laughed at me inside this dome shaped structure as we slept out on mattresses under the stars. I think this was designed to fit around a conventional bed and therefore I struggled, trying to keep the corners down and keep myself covered as I shuffled about trying to get comfy in the night. I think I was very lucky: there weren't many mosquitos and it was low season for them, I'm honestly not sure how effective this would be given an onslaught of hungry mosquitos in high season? However, the net is impregnated with anti-mosquito stuff, and whilst I loathe wearing deet on my body myself (read up on deet and what it is and does!), it is very handy to have a mosquito net laden with mosquito repellent and therefore a thumbs up so far from me...will be back later for a review in high season!!

Worked well - I used this in the tropics in a malaria/dengue risk area and it kept me bite free in a room full of mosquitos! It was very quick to pack away in the morning - though it did occasionally attempt to fight back. I was also able to use it despite the beds often being doubles - I just tucked the net edges under the blanket/pillows (or sometimes just myself) and it stayed in place. As I am not that tall (5 ft 3) the issue of the lower end lying on your legs was easy to solve by placing my backpack or similar at the foot of the bed and wrapping the net tightly around it. It did take up a lot of room in my backpack but this was the smallest net of this type I was able to find, and worth it for a good night's sleep.

fits into my rucksack (cabin size) I use the pop-up me with a silk liner, the dome section for head and upper chest is good and I don't mind the lower body section bring loosely draped. The combination of silk liner and mesh with insect repellent has worked and no bites. I can hear the mosquitoes buzzing in the dark but I feel safe. Getting in and out is straightforward. I just roll over and free up the netting that was under my body and roll back and slide out.

Bought this as I have found it hard and time-consuming to hang up my lightweight portable net when visiting out-of-the-way places in the sub-/tropics-a frequent occurrence. The net opens up really quickly and is the perfect shape for a single bed. In addition it's very easy to fold up once you get the hang of it (see a 1 minute Youtube video if you need help). Haven't used extensively yet but am sure it will be more useful than my previous arrangement.

Item came quickly and is good! Note, there is no support at the bottom to keep it from your legs though so mosquitoes can bite straight through if it is resting on your legs without a sheet ontop of you! The head bit is great though as there is ample space around my face! I dropped a star as some photos of this product I have seen show a support at the legs, which it does not have

Light and easy to transport. A bit fiddly to keep in place if the bed is a bit smaller than standard single - the dome kept slipping off the bed at the side. Definitely would recommend though for peace of mind and ease of use and the fact that you don't need to hook it up anywhere means it can be used anywhere.

I didn't need to put the item to the test as I was supplied with a mosquito net while in India. This was really a "fall-back" provision. However,I was impressed by its light weight but haven't had it out of its bag, which will be the real test - ie whether it can be packed back into it easily!

Did exactly what it needed to do. Compact, portable and effective. Easy to open and pack away again. One of my boys has used it on a trip abroad and was pleased with it. The other is about to set off for three months with it. Would recommend. Service was perfect too.

I like this net as you don't need a hook. The frame makes it's bigger than other nets but the case it comes in keeps it neat. I had to look on youtube to see how to hold it up, but once you know how it's easy.

Exactly as described. I used to go to southern east Asia and felt a lot safer with it, not just with Mosquitos but because I am afraid of spiders. I did not get bitten when wearing this. Thanks

As an OCD person I find this really useful for Mexican jungle beach hotels to have added protection agsinst any stray mosquito, lizard etc....I get a better nights sleep.

Felt secure as the fabric was treated. Easy to erect but a little tricky to get out of during the night. Kept the insects away so it did the trick. Good quality mesh.

This thing is brilliant, pops open to reveal a huge dome that your upper body sleeps under and this extends to a net 'sheet' that protects the rest of your body.

Only needed to use it for two nights but it gave not only protection from the bighting insects but also gave peace of mind and enabled a restful nights sleep.
