If you have anything to do with rugby then you know that Canturbury make decent, quality kit and it was with this in mind that I bought this Medium for use by my 16y/o son. He's 6'2 with a medium build and still growing and a head to match, so to speak, and it fits him fine. The Velcro allows for adjustment under the chin and stretchy lacing at the rear allows for further expansion. I've tried it on myself (I take an XL helmet) and it had enough adjustment to fit me just about so it'll definitely grow with him. Padding is about 1cm thick so offers decent protection and has larger holes on the very top of the head for ventilation and small 5mm holes over the ears for hearing.

The Canterbury name is a mark of quality and this is an ideal first head guard for those new to the sport.Particularly suitable for anyone not wanting to spend a large amount of cash but conscious of needing to offer a good standard of head protection, particularly for youngsters.The Velcro straps offer a wide range of adjustment and ensure a snug, comfortable fit. The medium size will fit a young teen of average head size up to an adult.The quality means this will easily last several seasons if regularly washed and properly cared for.

Our son is only 9 years old but we measured his head and bought the mens size (used the sizing guide) - he has a large head! The purchase was made after his ear was ripped in a match so it was great that delivery was prompt and we had it in time for his next match. It came with a netted bag which is handy and will hopefully protect it. Great product.

Great fit and protection for my son who has become a rugby player! Looks cool and although other boys don't all wear them he can feel it protects his head as he gets kicked in the head and ears squashed in the scrum. He thought kids would take the mickey but they think it is cool. Gave my son courage to score a try too!

Supposedly, these head guards do not decrease head injuries... perhaps because they give a false sense of safety and kids play rougher when they have them on??... but still it feels wrong to send my kids out to play rugby with no protection, so I got them. Worth using a measuring tape to get cm right before ordering.

6’2 second row / flanker 14 stone (normal size head) the medium fits like a glove! I went with white as it was cheaper! Be prepared for the lads to take the piss the first time to rock it! They’ll get over it pretty quick and its less likely to get nicked.

Hard to guess the size required from the information given but we luckily got the right one even though it says Men's club Medium it in actual fact was for a 10 year old. It looks great and arrived on time and nicely packaged.

Great headguard, bought for my 11 year old son who is doing goalie training. He was worried about 'going for it' when saving balls but with this on his confidence has grown ... no balls get past him now!

first headguard for grandson who is getting serious about his rugby.quality piece of kit with extra protection for his ears - mother wants no cauliflowers - recommended for young learners.

This product arrived on time .Fitted perfectly and gives my son the protection her needs when playing.I would definitely recommend this product to other parents of Rugby players.

Very happy with this product. Although I played hooker when I bought it, I now play in the backs and still wear it as it offers a little extra protection during rooks etc.

Very good protection. Bought for my son who is 15 and he loves it. The strap is a bit uncomfortable though but should be okay. Overall good value for money!

Great for some heavy contact as gives much more confidence. Even head to head collisions with the opposition have been great as softens their contact too.

Bought for 13 year old nephew, he is pleased with it.Mainly wanted one as the rest of the team wear them but he said its fits well so happy with that.

Fits well and comfortable fit, although the velcro strap can be a bit itchy. Overall very pleased with the quality and padding
