Image is clear and in focus when the zoom is set to 36x on an object at 100 yards, its really easy to use and its really lightweight. It comes with lens covers, instruction manual, equally lightweight tripod, cleaning cloth and carrying case. The sun shade is built right into the body, as opposed to being another piece to carry around and lose. I can't say hardly anything about this that other reviewers already have, it is a really good spotting scope at a truly unbeatable price. What I really like about it is the design of the carrying case. Its ingenious, and I don't know why we don't see this idea implemented with other types of carrying cases. When I first ordered this,

We sit on our deck and observe our one-acre pond and the surrounding woods. We have a pair of binoculars to spot things of interest, but this spotting scope is just the thing to get close-up to items on the far side of our pond. We mount our Barska on an older, heavy-duty, tripod (rather than the light-weight one supplied with the scope). Being able to easily change from the wider angle viewing to the higher-power makes it easy to capture the object and then get a more magnified view. The other day we used the Barska to identify a dead beaver that was floating in the pond.

This spotting scope (Barska 18-36X50) replaced a Celestion spotting scope and a few high-power binoculars that we used at the shooting range. We have used it for 2 years now with zero issues. It is sharp at both ends of the zoom and powerful enough for 17 HMR on shoot n' see targets at 100 meters. We use the included stand to steady the image. Although Barska is regularly hit with "bad QC" reviews, my experience with 4 different Barska scopes is that I usually (3 out 4) get more than I paid for. In the case of this spotting scope: easily worth twice the price.

I bought this to sit on the bench when I'm sighting in rifles. I can easily see the holes in white paper at 100 yards which can be tough with a 3x9 power rifle scope. It is very clear and I compared it to scopes in the $200 to $300 bracket and I didn't think they were any better. In fact, I like the bipod with this unit better than some of the higher end models and all the components fit easily in the carrying case.

I bought this to take to the range and it does what I bought it for. You can see the holes in the paper targets clearly at 100 yards. The tripod is very nice, I don't have any problems with it. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the front lens cover. I think they could have come up with something better. It doesn't want to stay on.

Never thought I could afford to own a spotting scope. At this price why not. I'm so glad I bought it. Of course, I use it for target practice and to spot game. I also use it to check on my garden and to keep track of the apples on the trees from the breakfast table. This is fun.

Finally had time to use this spotting scope. All I can say is WOW! Paper targets are very clear and easy to see where I'm missing. Using this made being an observer more fun. Didn't think using this while someone else shoots would be exciting.

Awesome for the price. Definitely worth purchasing if you want a high powered spotting scope under $250.
