I was told by a bicycle thief turned straight that this type of lock is the hardest to tackle. He reckons it would take the largest bolt cutters about three minutes of intense effort to cut through it. Chains and shackles are a cinch. However, nothing can beat a disc cutter, or liquid gas, and a lump hammer. If a thief wants your bike that bad, he will take it no matter what you do. The best deterrent is to make your bike less tempting by parking it next to another bike with a weaker chain or whatever, or making it harder to steal by the investment in time required to do so.

I have owned this for a few months now and unlike other locks I have owned the key still fits and opens it smoothly and there is no sign of rusting or wearing from the weather. It is imposing and sturdy but not so heavy or chunky that it can't be transported easily. The guys at my local bike shop said it looks a lot better than most of the locks people seem to use. While other bikes, more expensive than mine, are relying on thin chains that you could easily fit a pair of bolt cutters round, I am very confident that no-one is going to bother trying to steal mine.

This cable lock is very robust. Only a week after buying it someone tried to ruin the disc tumbler lock. Fortunately, they were not successful and left only cosmetic damages. I haven't had any problems with the lock ever since - 1.5 years already.Sometimes I wish it was longer - to lock more accessories or another bike, or to lock the bike to a bigger tree. This would add too much weight though and is not really practical.One should keep it locked while riding as it has a tendency to straighten itself and may fall off.

This lock is great for my bike! It's a bit heavy, but it fits well around my waist while on the go, so I don't notice. It's long enough to lock any wheel+the frame to a fixed object, so if my bike wasn't so brand new, this lock would be enough. But just to be sure, I've added an ABUS U-mini U-lock (also from Amazon.co.uk) to lock the other wheel and the frame together. I trust this combination completely.

OK, so not the ultimate security and it's pretty heavy and bulky, but I couldn't fit a D-lock holder within the frame of my son's new bike. This goes around the seat post while he's riding and is quite easy to lock the bike up with. I suspect (hope!) the ABUS lock mechanism will be a bit more resilient than some alternatives.

I never leave my bike for that long in a street location but it has done the job, it is strong and would deter anyone but very determined thief. Only downside is the weight. I have taken to leaving lit ocked to the bike rack at work overnight so I do not have to carry to work each day.

Very strong and durable. Keeps my scooter safe when I need it. Best lock I have ever owned. The cover over the keyhole is so useful in winter if it snows or if its raining. Makes it so much more accessible.

very happy about the locker, it has wonderful locking mechanism that will never tease you when the key get's stuck in some regular lockers. Very professional, heavy duty and completely save :)

Really good product,the plastic coating really protects the rims.Word of advice though,don't be to rough with key as the shaft is a bit long,and it snapped off in my missus lock.

I use this on a bicycle. The lock is well put-together but quite heavy. On the plus side, thieves are going to look for an easier lock to attack.

Met my expectation. Even though its heavy to carry around it is strong enough to deter lock pickers. I use it with a D-lock to secure my bike

Good for locking your crash hat & Jacket to bike, like enough to carry in your rucksack. A good compromise

I like it, my bike is sure now and the handling is easy. Also its not to heave to where.
