Needed a chain to complement a quality (non-Abus)U-lock for an expensive bicycle. The ideal 10mm chain's quoted internal link diameter was too small for my lock, so I opted for the 8mm which fitted perfectly, though it will be marginally less bolt-cutter resistant. An unexpected bonus was the weight-saving. Being relatively short & of thinner gauge it is significantly lighter than a 10mm chain, so I'm more inclined to carry it at all times. As well as protecting my cycle's paintwork, the fabric cover largely disguises the fact that this is not the full-strength 10mm chain. Combined with a decent U-lock & quality (Abus) braided cable I'm confident it will do the job.The supplier's description was spot on (important as link size was critical),

I like this lock, and would recommend it for what it is, but... It only came with two keys! A lot of locks come with at least three keys. The included keys are very simple and basic, and quite small, so an extra key should be no big deal - and would seal the deal. Abus, that can't be too difficult, can it?I would, for example, think that sometimes one might need to have two keys when out and about (kept separately) in case something happened to one. The third key would then be kept, as usual, in a safe place back at base...The lock is good quality, and is easy to carry and compact to store compared to a cable lock, or such...I'd like to give it 5/5, for what it is,

Bought this as a spare as my original padlock is still going strong after six years, but showing a bit of rust on the chain - but then, those six years have been spent outside, enduring rain, snow, sleet, hail and temperatures between -8C and +34C. The fact it's so reliable is why a bought another of the same type!You get the padlock, the chain and two keys with the set. It's heavy and robust and will last a good few years in an exposed, external location.

Strong chain & just the right length at just under a meter. Not too chunky but would make someone think twice about cutting it. Abus are well thought of brand & it’s a quality piece of kit.

Best security chain I managed to find after buying many others.Very well made, strong, and not too long or heavy. Lock is kept dry in the winter too. Good quality chain protector.
